Once word gets out about this place, expect to wait a long, long time for table.

We went for Sunday brunch and absolutely loved every dish we had. Located in the ABC Liquor/Whole Foods plaza on Federal, it's hard to make a strip mall cafe look inviting. The guys at DBA did a nice job. The screens on the window block your view of the parking lot. The use of wine crates as wall decor is cool. Loved the mix and match country craft set ups.

This place is low key. Do not walk in here demanding 5-star-kiss-my-ass service. These guys are doing a great job but I don't think waiting tables was their passion in life. What is a passion is the food. Creative takes on brunch food that will leave you smiling.

    The Sweet
Craving a sweet brunch dish? Try the cheesecake stuffed french toast. Served like a biscuit with strawberries and maple syrup. This was my fave. I had the raspberry crepes which were very much like a delicious blintz complete with and interesting acorn squash puree with the ricotta. yum.

    The Savory
We loved the gruyere and chorizo omlette. The LEO (lox eggs and onions) was damn good too but we really liked the crispy tasty potatoes. No half cooked stringy taters or blocks of giant potatoes here. Small. Crispy. Very good.

On second thought, this place is horrible. You should never go here. Less crowds for me, eh?

I am stunned at how good the food, service and wine by the glass selections are at DBA. I have to admit, the name..DBA...really turned me off and had I not happened on a favorable review, I never would have stopped in.
For me, a restaurant first and foremost, MUST have great wine by the glass. I want a generous pour, stellar reds and fair prices. Consequently, I am often disappointed. Not at DBA. The wine list is perfect and well chosen. The pours are more than fair and the bartender was a peach.
We sat at the bar--because I'm THAT KINDA CHICK and in addition to my fabulous wine, I had the smaller order (meals come in 2 sizes and there is NOTHING small about the smaller order!) of duck confit and it was melt-in-your-mouth tender. It came on a bed of shaved brussel sprouts. I'd eat grass before I'd gag down a brussel sprout and yet...I loved every bite of these beauties. My dining partner had fried chicken that was perfectly moist on the inside and crispy on the outside. It arrived with funnel cake and syrup, their take on the old chicken and waffles riff. Superb.
In summary, I did not want to leave and I cannot wait to come back!

This place is amazing, had the duck with crepe and brussel sprouts couldn't have been better!

Everything we had was good and worth the trip over from 2 towns up. Probably should even be 5 stars for Florida if they stay consistent.  Personally, I liked the folksy low-key decor, with the emphasis on the food versus a fussy environment. They will need to keep working with concierges and colleges, etc to get people in.  The strip-maill culture of this area makes casual discovery impossible; though the adjacency to Whole Foods might help.

Amazing place. They were experiencing extreme volume for a tuesday but we didn't have to wait much longer than you would expect and everything was great. I really love this place and will be happily eating here every week for quite some time. This place is really a great spot.

Just happened upon this place in search of a warm, quaint and comfortable spot with fresh and unique food. Does it exist in South Florida? Here it does! My sister and I
went for lunch one week after opening in November and we split the crunchy salad that blends a creamy green goddess dressing with fresh slices of creamy avocado, crunchy apples and crisp romaine lettuce. We also halved the chicken schnitzel sandwich dressed delicately with a cranberry sauce. The Nutella bread pudding with a cortadito was a perfectly sweet finish to this gastronomic slice of heaven. I've since been there for brunch (apricot puree-filled crepes...delish!) and multiple dinners and have not seen a slip in flavor, quality or service yet. And, I have been very pleased with every wine recommendation I've received. Don't let this gem slip away. Pay a visit to DBA cafe!

Great experience. The staff was attentive and helpful in explaining the menu. My wife had the grouper. She said it was the best she had had in a long time. My son loved the fried chicken with waffles. Crispy on the outside and moist on the inside.  My gnocchi was excellent but the large portion was small for me. Eclectic selection of beer. We shared the homemade cheesecake with strawberries. It was so good that I should have order one per person. Small and casual place.  A little pricey but that is not a problem when the food is excellent. We will be back.

Visited DBA this past Friday evening for the first time.  Was empty when we arrived, but thankfully it got busier a bit later.

The owners came up and welcomed us and introduced themselves.  Split a few appetizers: the gnocchi was outstanding and the bacon special was good.  My meal was a small plate of the short ribs.  And small it was.  One small portion of the ribs with spinach and potato on the side.  The meat was very tender and good, but seemed to be missig something, like a bit of bbq sauce or flavor.

We split the chocloate mousse and panacotta for dessert.  Both were excellent.

I should also  mention that the service was very attentive and friendly.

Overall, I am a fan.  I would come back to try other things.  i really like how they offer half portions of the entrees.  Its not only more reasonably priced that way, but I am less apt to overeat.

Hope they build the buisness and succeed in this spot.

My wife and I ate here when our hotel's concierge recommended it.  Don't let the strip mall fool you this place is awesome.  We loved everything we ate but particularly the short ribs, clams and onion crusted snapper.  The staff was attentive and couldn't have been friendlier.  Definitely well worth a visit and, if we ever have the chance, a return!
