Got the Love & Light smoothie and it is sooo delicious! Loved it so much I will definitely be back to try others. The place isn't large but that's ok. I was just in and out to get my smoothie. I feel so good typing this- Maybe it is the smoothie just working its own magic :)

Chicago real talk for y'all: Earth's Healing Cafe is amazing. I've done one three-day juice cleanse with them and I'm currently on a five-day one. In terms of cost, they are by far the most affordable place for a juice cleanse. The standard rate for the majority places is 75-80 a day (ahem blueprint), whereas Earth's Healing Cafe is 37. While it's a bit out of the way for me, I'll still go back for the next time I do a cleanse.

I have my favorite smoothies, the dark maca and the Caribbean. I should broaden my horizons but I truly like these two drinks. The guys here are super super nice. God bless you! May your locations expand throughout Chicago and hopefully a tad more North
:-). Lets drink to health, wealth and happiness.

This place rocks! Delicious all vegan, gluten free, organic fare? Hell yes! not to mention one of the tastiest, nutrition-packed juice/smoothie bars in town! I used to always be reminiscing the old NYC days and its hundreds of juice bars and like the one ring came to Bilbo Baggins, unexpectedly but ever so calculating, this place came to my notice just when I wanted some juices the most! I was feel a bit under the weather (damn you Season Affective Disorder!) and the Caribbean gave me enough inner sunshine to brighten my dark, cold Chicago days.
Le husband and I were planning on grabbing a nosh as well but unfortunately, they don't have any actual cafe seating :( But their great vibe, good wholesome food makes up for the lack of space. Something tells me I will be spending many summer days in Ravenswood :)

I've done cleanses in the past and I've never had a fresher, tastier, cleanse.. I was reading in previous reviews about the cost, I feel that the price is completely competitive with other cleanses.. I cannot wait to complete my next cleanse w Earths Healing Cafe and I especially love supporting local businesses.. Thank you

I LOVE this place! Great for grabbing a juice to take with you for breakfast, lunch, on a stroll around the neighborhood, when you're feeling under the weather, when you're feeling great-- whenever! The staff is very friendly and flexible if you want to make substitutions in your juice.

I love this place! Their juices are very yummy & cheaper than other juice bars. They also have raw food dishes that I can't wait to try soon. Often times there is a line & not much room/no sitting area in the cafe to wait, but I guess that's a sign of a good place.

The juices here are fantastic! They taste great and make you feel like a million bucks!

My boss comes here regularly and grabs juices for us, and we just LOVE them.

Highly recommend!

I'm an omnivore with a strong passion for discovering culinary creativity: If I find food that is well-made and tastes good, I'm happy. I also confess that I particularly appreciate culinary creativity exercised under a lot of stringent conditions.

The cooks at Earth's Healing Cafe are probably some of the most creative culinary professionals on the planet. The list of no-nos at Earth's Healing Cafe is about a mile long, so I'll just explain their guidelines: Their food is vegan (no animal products), raw, gluten-free, soy-free, GMO-free and organic. No agave, no nutritional yeast. If an organic ingredient isn't available, they substitute with another organic ingredient. No non-organics here!

The Shop

The term "cafe" is a bit of a misnomer, as there is no coffee served and no seating, making Earth's Healing Cafe a takeout-only establishment. You can, however, purchase beautiful hand-crafted greeting cards to go with your smoothie.

The Food

Simply outstanding. I'm not a smoothie fan, so I can't comment on those and am not much for juices, either. However, I did try their Digestive Support juice (celery, fennel, apple and ginger) when I had a tummy ache and it sorted things out right away. (Didn't taste too bad either.)

I come here for the entrees. They only have a few on rotation and they don't have every item every day. So far I've tried The Strength of a Goddess, State of Mind and Osiris Rising. I've also enjoyed a few of their specials.

Strength of a Goddess consists of a split avocado filled with mango-curry paste and topped with paprika and green onions and accompanied by a green salad. It is remarkably tasty and quite filling.

State of Mind is a "pizza" made from a flax/sunflower seed crust, tomato sauce, nut cheese and vegetables. It is not only delicious, but quite crave-worthy.

Osiris Rising is a nut paste packed into portobello mushroom. I don't quite remember the rest of the ingredients (the paste itself is green) but I remember enjoy the dish greatly, though my favorite dish is still the State of Mind pizza.

The Service

Very warm, friendly and and non-judgmental service from the staff here. The place is tiny, and juices/smoothies are made to order, so expect to wait a bit for drinks. Also, keep in mind that their food offerings change daily, so if you have your heart set on something, call ahead. They are always very happy to tell you what's in their cold case.

The Prices

Some Yelpers have complained about the prices and, indeed, the smoothies and juices can be a tad pricy, though I'd note that they are made from expensive ingredients and are typically prepared-to-order. The entrees, on the other hand, are pretty reasonable, ranging from 5.50 for a salad to $10.90 for a generous pizza slice.

Final Recommendation

If you're looking to try out raw vegan food, you can't go wrong with this joint.

The smoothies here are great but not cheap. Sometimes they aren't open when their hours say they should be. Good spot though for healthy stuff. Very tasty.

I am very happy to have finally discovered this place. It has a wonderful selection of smoothies, juices, and raw meals that are ready to go. I especially love their salads. One of the biggest issues I have run into as a vegan is getting a salad with a dressing that I like (I used to be big on ranch, blue cheese dressing). Their salad dressings are wonderful and more satisfying that your generic balsamic.

Overall I am just really happy to support such a positive business. The employees are warm and give out good vibes. Everything is extremely good for you. While it's not cheap to drink here (in my opinion the food prices are fairly low), it's fair for the ingredients they use. Organic isn't cheap.

I look forward to trying more items on their menu soon.

You can't go wrong with all the healthy options. This is what it's about people. Wish there were more places that would take on the concept of this place. Organic, raw and the food is filling and satisfying. You are what you eat!

i agree, you really DO feel that the smoothies are worth the price. so delicious, and so healthy! you feel great after (okay, and during) drinking them! gluten-free. i wish it were closer, but then maybe i'd be broker.

I like the drinks here from the smoothies to the juices... It is a bit pricey, but it's quite tasty and it is an investment in your health. Food though is okay. A bit pricey and not that good. I'll say 3.5 rounding to 4, but really would feel better if it wasn't so expensive here compared to other places serving juices and smoothies... and I don't mean Jamba.

I love the juices here. Earth Healing is just what the neighborhood needs. However, some of their operational issues really need to be addressed. One person working the counter and making the juices sets the customer up for a long wait. There is no take-out menu and the website is perpetually down, so you can't decide what you'd like to order ahead of time (unless you've memorized the menu, of course). Also, for those of us who would like one the EHC heavenly juices instead of coffee in the morning are out of luck. They don't open until 10am, so us 9-5ers can't get our healthy fix. Still, I keep going back...

Love this place! I wake up craving the juice every morning.

Pros:
The Mother Earth juice is amazing, fresh, and healthy. I've also had the zucchini alfredo which may just be the best thing I've ever eaten in my life and felt good about after.

Cons:
Price- WOW I have to budget for my juice fix.
Availability- about 70% of the time they're out of one ingredient for the juice I crave. Not a huge difference in taste but not quite as good either.

After a weekend of overindulging in everything my body desperately needed some TLC. So I did a little yelp search and came across Earth's Healing Cafe and I'm glad I did. I have been there twice this week and good experiences both times. The only juice I have tried is the mother earth and it's excellent. I'll def be back to try other juices/smoothies. I also got some raw food and those were outstanding.
-Earth's Healing Salad - So good...the sauce on top is amazing
-Strength of a Goddess - Quite tasty and filling
-Royal Alfredo Pasta -The zucchini noodles were perfect with the cashew/cauliflower sauce...if you are trying out raw this will kill your craving for pasta

I've seen some other items that look appealing on the menu but they have not been in the case so not sure if they are available - I suppose I could ask next time I'm in. The pricing in the raw food/juicing world can be quite expensive but they are on par or even a little less which is nice.

Overall super glad I found this place close to my house!

What creative, delicious, and nutritious Smoothies and juices! I have promised myself that I will slowly try each and every drink on the menu. My son adores the sweeter Smoothies, but I cannot for the life of me get him to drink anything green! I love that all of their ingredients are organic and that the people who work here seem genuinely passionate about what they do. It is always a treat to come in and visit.

Love and light is my favorite drink so far!

Finally a raw & juice place in my old hood of course when I moved to another city. Great Service and they give you a lot of information. I like that they have a huge selection of juice combination and some that are not sweeten with apple like the electric green, which I did like. The Strength of Godness was so filling and yet I could not stop eating it. I can't wait to try more when I am back in town.

I'm on my last day of a four-day general cleanse and I feel amazing. I had my doubts, but I always wanted to try one and it's been really, really great. Sam was very responsive to my questions and when I picked up my juice both times I was met with a friendly face. Highly, highly recommend! My energy level is through the roof, my skin looks clearer and even dropped a few pounds. No complaints here!

My partner in crime was the one to tell me he had been visiting this place and said they used organic everything. I didn't know what to expect exactly but was blown away at the finished product.

It took a while to make the smoothie I ordered (which I've gotten twice now because I'm addicted) but it was well worth it. It actually tasted better the second time and I'm not sure if it's based on the person who made it or my taste having grown more accustom to it.

The smoothie I got was: Dark Maca = made with Raw Cacao, Carob, Maca Maca, Dates, Cinnamon, Vanilla, fresh made Coconut Milk & Banana

I've been dying to taste cacao for a year now after taking a class on the Maya, and this has been a great first experience! Based on what I knew about the taste of it, I could pick it out in the blend of deliciousness.

The smoothie itself is not as cold as you'd expect one to be, so beware that the temperature dies down pretty quickly. It can result in a little chalkier taste, but that's not really a problem.

The first time I was here they had a little area extended with alkaline water in pitchers on the table that lined the window. I was here a couple weeks ago again and that area was closed off making it a teeny box of a place. I hope they re-open that area!

A little pricey for a drink but well worth treating yourself!

I love these guys! Simply brilliant juices and washes...no one else in Chicago is doing this stuff. Liver wash...kidney wash...blood cleaners...heavy metal detox...the list of specialty juices goes on and one and the staff is incredible. It is my daily pilgrimage and the best thing is that they are building a fantastic community of "users". I meet the nicest people in this place and wish them every success. So happy that they are growing strong.

My co-workers had been buzzing about this place with the $8 smoothies that were, in their assessment, "totally worth it." I must admit, I was skeptical. But today, after several days of bad food choices, I decided to go ahead and try it.

I finished my smoothie 30 minutes ago and I still have this incredible "high". It was amazing. I had the Love and Light, with chlorella, kale, spinach, almond butter, dates and banana. Their smoothies are made with organic ingredients and whizzed up in the cadillac of blenders, the Vitamix (at about $500 a pop, their lineup of 3 blenders may explain the prices ;)

There were no entrees or anything besides smoothies or juices on the menu or visible, which disappointed me after reading peoples' reviews. I will certainly be back, though, to get this smoothie high again.

... I'm 100% addicted.

So to start: I'm not a health nut. I love to cook: favorites include pasta, butter and other decadent ingredients. My favorite food group? Potato chips. My "healthy" lifestyle? I only exercise when my obscenely large, fat ass starts to jiggle way too much. [OK, slight exaggeration, but you get the picture.]

That doesn't stop me from LOVING these delicious, organic, vegan smoothies (something I've somewhat sworn against). My absolute favorite? LIQUID SUNLIGHT, which has Mango, Pineapple, Kale, Spinach & freshly made Apple Juice all blended together in a scary green concoction that'll blow you out of the water.

Other favorites?
Tree of Life
River Nile
The Caribbean
Jamaican Paradise

AND they do juice cleanses. YES, I'm going to sign up for this for the non-existent, way-not-achievable beach bod thing, but mostly b/c these juices are delicious and addicting.

I'm on an elimination diet (no soy, no dairy, no gluten, no ...) & my husband brought me home a slice of blueberry "cheesecake" from Earth's Healing Cafe as a little treat. So delicious!! The texture is just right but the taste is unique & nutty & delicious. Yum! I'll be heading over for a meal or smoothie sometime soon!

Chicago has been needing a raw restaurant up north for a long time! The people at EHC are the nicest you can imagine and their food/juices always make me feel absolutely divine.

The avocado goddess plate is DELICIOUS and every single smoothie I've tried (about 5) was just as good.

I am also a huge supporter of businesses that strive to provide outstanding customer service. This past Friday, my boyfriend and I were trying out our first Raw feast at home and needed "veggie pulp," so I called EHC and they happily offered to not only save their veggie pulp for us, but keep it free of inedible parts (i.e. coconut shells). I urge to try out anything from this restaurant and support a truly splendid dining experience.

Smoothie was great, service was friendly, but their prices are INSANELY high for both smoothies and the few food offerings. I appreciate having an option for smoothies other than a chain like Jamba Juice, but I just can't justify $8 on a smoothie and I'm guessing I'm not alone in that sentiment. I can get a much bigger smoothie for less with the exact same ingredients elsewhere. I probably won't be back unless I find myself in the area and desperate.

Wow..Outstanding. Earth's Healing Cafe sure healed me. And it's a non profit..so thanks guys. For doing your part to save the planet. And "benefit humanity and mother earth". http://earthshealingcafe…

For starters, I had the Strength of Goddess entree. Ahh..avocado halves stuffed with cashews with dressing. How wonderful. And it's raw/vegan/organic/gluten-free/soy free/ and gmo -free. Thanks earths healing cafe! I think I'll have another..thank you very much. It's lo- cal too right. Ok cool.

After that delicious treat..it was time for the Liver Harmony smoothee. Carrot, Apple, Dandelion, Burdock and Tumeric. Hells yea. I'm cured now bitches. Alcoholism never felt so good.

Next..time for some Infection Healer. This is perfect. I have an uhh "infection test" coming up. Lemon, Ginger, Goldenseal, Echinacea and Cayenne, should do the trick. It's the goldenseal that really matters. Masks the other "herbs" I've been using for that test. Too bad goldenseal is an endangered species. Oh well. http://www.umm.edu/altme…

What next..hmm. Any spanish fly smoothies? Thats bamboo with organic apricots with a sprinkle of kale..if you don't know. Get me some ladies while saving the planet..that's what I call a win/win.

You know..it's places like this, that are benefiting humanity and mother earth that really make a difference. Here's a quote from their facebook page "ALWAYS do the VERY BEST you can and God/Universe will take care of the rest". http://www.facebook.com/… Wow..fantastic advice guys!. And they're a non profit (psyche). And modest. Pretty cool. Word on the street is that Tammy Faye Bakker is part owner.

Their smoothies are the BEST I've had my entire life, no kidding. I'm blown away by the tasty goodness each time I order - my pupils dilate as I bask in health-bliss-heaven.

If you're looking for a healthy treat and dig smoothies, this place has the best you can give yourself. The owner is really friendly and informative. I tried one of their entrees (power of a goddess) and my boyfriend had the sacred leaf wrap. Both were fresh and flavorful, but the smoothies are the real goldmine of this place, in my opinion.

The best place to get a combination of health and amazing flavor- I leave each time feeling AMAZING!

Wow.
Honestly, I wanted to stay there all day. Just breathing the air in that place is enough to make you feel healthier and more vibrant.
My boyfriend and I shared the Sacred Leaf Wrap, The Plate of Imhotep, and the Unity Cake (I think that was what we had). We ooh'd and awe'd the entire meal, savoring every bite. It was hands down the most delicious raw meal I've ever had. I am so thrilled this is only a few blocks from home. We have already planned our return and are going to treat ourselves to this amazing cafe weekly. It's not inexpensive, but I would say you get what you pay for--and then some. I mean really, it's raw, organic, gluten free, GMO-free, vegan, and soy-free. The food is made carefully, thoughtfully, and beautifully, and the owner and workers are incredibly warm and friendly~ you feel like your walking into your friends own loving kitchen.
This place is amazing~ any review that is negative about this place makes me shake my head. Aside from a couple of folks upset over paying a little bit extra (maybe $1-2 dollars per entree), there is nothing about this place that is less than amazing! If you want cheap food that'll make you feel terrible, go for it. You can find cheap unhealthy food all over town. If you want AMAZING food that makes you feel INCREDIBLE, eat here.

This is my new favorite lunch place by far.

Gluten free, soy free, organic raw vegan energy goodness is what this place is known for.

Just steps away from where I work, I have been taking a long lunch break once a week during the month of July and have been hiding out here for an hour or more.

Everything on the menu is extremely delicious, but for the adventourous eaters, I would highly recommend the Plate of Imohotep and a Mother Earth smoothie. It's a lean mean green energy boosting kind of meal and it will give your body power, more power than your double shot of espresso with cream will ever provide, and the best part is that you are giving your body the vitamins it desires and craves.

I should mention that this place is not a cheap eat, but it's sustainable energy that's good for the animals, earth, and your body. In my mind it's worth every single penny.

Also, this place is fairly new and they are still working out some kinks, and in talking to the owner he said he's going to have business/punch cards very soon, but in the mean time I want to let everyone know that this place exists and is awesome. Ok I'm done.

My sis ( a connoisseur of smoothies) wanted to try out Earth's Healing Cafe. You don't go to this place for the atmosphere as it's sorta bare bones. They have a long list of organic/all natural smoothies that are all supposed to do a body good. (i.e., some are supposed to help the digestive system while others are loaded w/ vitamins). I went with the Coconut Berry and my sis went with Jamaican Paradise. We both agreed that the smoothies were really tasty, but teeny tiny and pricey ($6 for 10 oz.) But, I guess that's the price you pay for organic fruit.

The food menu is very limited and nothing really struck my fancy. Perhaps if you're vegan/vegetarian you might dig the lunch menu. I'm glad we stopped in to check this place out, but I don't think I'll be a regular.

I love smoothies (and they make them, too), but there there are very few raw juice bars in Chicago. I'm so glad they opened, I've been twice this week. The mother earth juice with apple, kale, celery, lemon, ginger and cilantro is divine. Really, I makes me feel clean and energized. I also tried the Digestive Stimulator with fennel, celery, apple, mint and ginger--very smooth.
A friendly young couple runs the cafe and are happy to explain anything on the menu. I'll be back very soon. I'm interested in their food menu. I'm not a raw vegan, but their plates look really good. This is a young business definitely worth checking out.
