First time eating here and only stopped because we saw a billboard on I-40 going into Asheville. Found out it was a small chain in four states.

Being our first time they let us try their famous chicken for free. It was awesome!! I got a half wrap with a house salad. The wrap was great!!! Wish I had gotten a whole one. Will be going back next time i go through Asheville again and will be keeping an eye out for other Fatz!!!!

As much as a dislike chain restaurants, this was our go-to place when we needed a decent steak.
Not only did they cook it exactly how I asked, the manager on duty never ONCE missed stopping by each table to check on people...EVERY time we were there.

That is a level of customer service sorely lacking in Asheville restaurants and businesses in general where mostly people pretend you do not exist unless you are waving a platinum card under their noses.

We had a great visit this last time. Our server was great!   She had energy and the way she suggested things, we ended up ordering. She offered a sample of the peach tea, which we ordered instead of water.
The food was delicious!   I had the all-you-can-eat ribs with Mashed Red Potatoes. They were delicious!!!!!!!! Their poppy seed rolls are wonderful with the honey butter. We always order another batch or two when we go because one basket just isn't enough.  I was definitely full when I left.
We enjoy going here for a great meal and sometimes meet family.

Stopped by late on a Friday night after arriving in town for a last minute trip to Asheville. Our waiter (Nathan?) was awesome - gave us samples of their chicken and spent a long time recommending local places to go visit. We've been using his list all weekend and he didn't steer us wrong! Food was good too - my husband enjoyed his plate o' chicken and I stuffed myself with a variety of veggie sides. Great place and great people.

We took my dad here for his birthday to get his free Calabash dinner while I was in town visiting for awhile. The waitress asked if we had dined there before, and I was the only "no" in the group. She then informed me that they have a special treat for first-timers. Next thing I know, she is bringing me a plate of the Calabash chicken as a app for the table. Alright, I'll take it. It was quite good too. I wasn't sure what I wanted to order for my lunch and asked the waitress. She recommended the fish sandwich with a spicy tartar sauce and it was soo delicious. I'm one of those people that asks the staff for a recommendation, because, let's face, they ought a know what's up.

When we were done, the waitress then surprised my dad with a complimentary dessert. Double win. Then she brought out another. and another. and another. Next thing we know, each of us has a small, birthday dessert to celebrate my dad's special day! I can't even count all the wins at this point. Needless to say, we went back again and again before I had to leave town. I will certainly be back!

Suggestions: the fish sandwich, cobb salad, asian salad, calabash chicken. (But i've been told by some regulars that everything on the menu is great!)

Servers: great. I did feel a little awkward when a young waitress had to hug her friend while standing by our table. Yeah...so my life. Anyway, like I said, friendly and hard workin'. They give you a free sample of Calabash chicken if you have never had it (think: crunchy chicken nuggets for cheap-eatin' kids), and the tables are clean. Bright window light for optimists on one side and and low light for vampires on the other. Decent prices. TV in bar. Honey/cinnamon butter for too-few rolls is delicious, and I took the remainder home. My husband had a great burger, while I had a partially frozen chicken potpie. I let my server know, and she was on it, but...it came back too hot in some places, and lukewarm in others, and I was afraid to complain again. "Notpie" is my new name for the potpie there. Which is why this review is only two stars per me.

Note: I will give this place a chance again; future edit possible. I do believe in getting the truth out- under-cooked food is scary. I realize that potpies are deep, but I also want to protect rugrats. Trying to be as open as possible here.

The best thing about this place is the customer service!!! Food is good but not great the best thing was the rolls and cinnamon butter! The server was excellent and offered free coffee and let us try their famous chicken fingers which were pretty good! Very fattening....hence the name "Fatz"

This is a family friendly place. The poppyseed rolls and the cinnamon butter was a great starter. We had the killer ribs and shrimp that our server Crystal recommend. It was fantastic. The peach cobbler for desert was wonderful.

Our family ate here once and we vowed never to return. The food was bland at best, and the wait staff told us some of the food is pre-packaged and heated in a microwave. I can do that myself, at home. We curse the place every time we drive past.
