You don't need to say much about Giordano's if you've lived in Chicago for a while. Â Fantastic deep dish, great flavors, a bit of grease to oil your pipes, and a very full belly when you are done.
The usual tips apply - it takes at least 30 minutes to bake one of these bad boys so call your order in if you don't want to be waiting around.
My PIC also tried a hand at the ravioli this time around. Â I wasn't a fan - great pasta and good meat but just kinda seemed like pasta and meat - I wanted a little more zing but I guess we got what we ordered. Â No fault of the chef.
Very fast and very friendly service at this location. Â No rush to get out, and always there right when we needed the waitress - not a minute before or after.
This is a great location to enjoy some of Chicago's finest pizza.
They know how to make a deep dish, alright. Â Although, they call it "stuffed pizza pie" instead of deep dish...has it always been that way? Â I ate so much Giordano's deep dish when I worked downtown that I got sick of it. Â Ah, the downside to gorging on your favorite food. Â I stayed away from Giordano's for a while and finally went back when a http://rest.com coupon for it fell into my lap. Â They still know how to make a deep dish pizza, but it's so hard for me to finish a whole slice. Â I did discover that they make pretty good ravioli, too!
Our waitress was fast and friendly. Â These stuffed pizzas take a while to make, so we called ahead to place our order for dine in. Â Smarts.
I love Giordano's. I go back and forth on what the best pizza is, but Giordano's is frequently at the top of my list.
I am surprisingly one of the people who does not care as much for their deep dish though. I actually think its a little weird and personally I think Lou Malnati's has Giordano's beat by far when it comes to that. When it comes to the thin crust though I think that Giordano's is easily some of the best, if not the best, pizza I have ever had.
I realize I am a little different in that way as most people rave about their deep dish. I say forget the deep dish here. Giordano's thin crust is way underrated and insanely good!
HOLY CRAP! This was an amazing deep-dish pizza. We got the spinach and it must have weighed 5 pounds. It was delicious - the perfect amount of cheese and crust. The crust was perfect. We thought it would last us a while but the two of us ate it all in one day for every meal. For $18, I was content, and was glad they gave us plates and plasticware so we could take this with us on the road. Can't wait to go back.
Review Source:Who doesn't love Chicago deep dish regardless of which suburb you are in? I'll admit, there is something about having a pie downtown that makes it even better - maybe its the water - but this off shoot does Giordano proud. While I've only done delivery and never opt to try anything but the large sausage deep dish, I'm always a happy camper.
Waiting an hour for pizza sucks but I've come to realize that seems to be the norm for all non-chain pizza parlors out here. Â Giordano's is well worth the wait. Â Their staff was even kind enough to have the delivery driver bring plates, forks/knives (yes, you need a knife with this pizza), and all the cheese/hot pepper along with our pizza when we first moved in to our home and hadn't unpacked yet.
Be hungry when you order and plan on eating tomorrow's left overs (they reheat well)!
Giordano's offers some really great deep dish pizza! Granted this restaurant is a chain which is one of the only reasons I gave it 4 stars instead of 5. I'm sure there is some more authentic deep dish that deserves a true 5 starts, but this place offers some pretty great food as well!
Looking for some deep dish in the Chicago suburbs, head over to Giordano's.
Thanks to Groupon I got my $25 meal for only $ 12, yay! And, they let you use it towards ETOH, double yay!
Had my first caprese salad and let it be known it won't be my last. De-lish and so fresh. It was exactly what I needed on an early spring night w/ my glass of wine.
I didn't go for the deep dish, I'm a fan of Lou's for that. But since college I've been a fan of their deep dish, my favorite being sausage and pineapple. The sausage was nice and spicy and the pineapple sweet and they didn't skim on either ingredient.
Not the best pizza in my life but nothing to complain about. Our server was sweet and she gave me a $5 gift certificate for my next purchase. I may not have gone back on my own, but I'll definitely use the certificate and maybe they will win be over.
My husband and I are huge fans of deep dish, and order from this location at least twice a month during football season. Â The pizza is tasty, and the orders are delivered quickly (for folks that don't usually order deep dish, quickly is around 45-50 minutes). Â I like the online tracking system (though twice it has immediately skipped ahead to 'on its way' within minutes of ordering, though the pizza was still being made). Â What impresses me most, however, is the service. Â On one occasion, there was a pizza mix-up, and my driver brought the right receipt but the wrong pizza. Â When I called to let them know, not only was the manager able to arrange a pizza swap within 15 minutes, but she also gave us a 50% off discount for the oversight. Â Great food and good service.
Review Source:I love Giordano's. So far it is my second favorite Chicago deep dish "stuffed" pizza after Barone's. I was thrilled when Giordano's offered a $25 Groupon for $12. That's about what a Large, 3-topping pizza will run you. I snapped that coupon up!
I raved about the pizza to my out-of-town guest and we called ahead to place an order. Ours was a little different. We were coming to dine in, but these kind of pizzas normally take about 45 minutes from start to finish. I didn't want to sit and wait; I had errands to run. I wanted the pizza started and brought out to our table when we came to eat. It worked out perfectly!
The patio seating was perfect for an August night. Service was great. The bus boy was on it. All empty tables were clean and recently vacated ones were picked up promptly. Our server was on it. He brought refill after refill and didn't mess them up. I'm a Diet Coke or Coke Zero with grenadine kind of girl, extra cherries! Our appetizer of garlic cheesy bread was brought out first, quickly followed by the pizza. And that's where it went from 5 stars to 4 for me.
Apparently the Naperville location makes their own sauce and prepares the dough differently than the other locations. Aurora and downtown Naperville take after them, so if you bought from there you might not notice this. The server said reactions to it are across the board. I guess it comes down to what you are used to or preference. I felt it tasted "off." Don't get me wrong. It was still a very good pizza, but it just wasn't "right."
We have ordered only take out here and it has been good until recently. For some reason, the toppings on the deep dish pizza we usually order really lacked on the toppings; the cook for some reason decided to be really cheap and skimp on the toppings. My kids for the first time that I've ever seen at only one slice each and said the pizza was bland. I assume the poor economy has hit them hard, so they had to put less toppings. Well, I'll try and order again and if they make like they always have, I'll update and change this review with higher ratings.
Review Source:I'm a great fan of order delivery from this restaurant. It may take a while to have a deep dish delivered as it takes at least 30mins to cook it anyway but the wait is worth it.
We order dinners from them and they are terrific. My standards are the cheese ravioli, Chicken Parmesan or the baked mostacholli. Serving sizes are enough for at least lunch or two lunches. The warm bread is yum but am not a huge fan of the salads or soups. Cheesy garlic bread is TO DIE FOR.
Don't forget that they have desserts. nothing tops off a couch potato evening like a GIANT slice of CHOCOLATE cake. mmmmm
Delivery guys are always friendly and the food is HOT.
fyi: we've been to the restaurant twice and it was quite busy and loud. Not a big fan of waiting for a table at restaurants that don't have a bar or adequate waiting area.
The best stuffed spinach pizza around! Since they closed our Leonardo's in downtown Naperville, we've been coming here! Never had a problem here! Great service, we can always get a table right away, fast and friendly service- I recommend! If you're craving excellent stuffed pizza, try this place you won't be dissatisfied!
Review Source:This is the newest and also smallest Giordano's we've ever been to. Â We haven't been to the new downtown Naperville one yet. Â There was a bit of a wait for folks with 4 or more (looked to be common occurence for the dining room size) til 8pm on a Friday nite, but we were just two and got seated right away. Â The stuffed sausage and mushroom pizza and Caprese salad we had was ok, but not exceptional by any means. The salad was on soggy side and skimpy on the cheese. Â Bacino's has a much better Caprese salad. Â The pizza and crust were decent tasting but it was also soggy and heavy on the tomato sauce, which is the way they pretty much always serve it it seems. Â There was a watery sauce pool under our uneaten pizza slices. Â Overall, ok pizza joint, but no comparison to Lou Malnati's.
Review Source:Very, very, very good Deep Dish Pizza, but I'll give it only Four Stars because I think it's a notch below Lou Malnati's in this area. Â If you are in the mood for a stuffed spinach pizza, they may very well have the best. Â We've been disappointed in their thin crust too many times, but for Deep Dish....Four Stars.
