Kind of odd that they're a Chinese restaurant but they serve breakfast items like pancakes. Â I tried their cream cheese wontons and their eggrolls. Â The cream cheese wontons were okay, but nothing special. Â There was no extra flavoring in the cream cheese - it was just a chunk of cream cheese wrapped in a wonton wrapper and deep fried. Â The eggroll, on the other hand, had some nice seasonings in the filling. Â At first, I thought it was a vegetarian eggroll, but then I saw some slices of thinly sliced chicken or pork inside. Â The menu consists of typical Chinese American fare. Â The prices seem to be slightly cheaper than The Red Pepper. Â They have a lunch buffet M-F for $6.50, which I haven't tried yet.
I'll be back to try a real entree and will update my review about their food.
On a side note, even though this is a Chinese restaurant, the people who run this place are Vietnamese.
So, we decided to stop in and try this place out since we are trying to spend our money in our fair city of Richfield. At first approach, I was skeptical - the place advertises Chow Mein and pancakes?
When you go inside, be prepared; the "decor" has not been updated since the Nixon administration. The clientele was mostly blue hairs (although, not uncommon in Richfield). The breakfast menu is comprehensive - eggs to pancakes to omelets. Nothing fancy, but your basic breakfast fair. The coffee was acceptable (they did leave the pot on the table for self serve refills).
I ordered 1 egg, toast and sausage link - it was perfect for $2.35! My hubby had the veggie omelet and 1 giant pancake. Everything was good. Breakfast for 2 - $15, not bad. Our server was great as well.
I can't comment on the chinese food part of the menu, but I will when we venture in for their buffet or take out.
I'm not sure I would recommend this place to all my friends - but if you are looking for a decent breakfast on the cheap, stop in.
