  I was really impressed with J Gumbos. They are definitely making better use of the space than the previous restaurant and the inside looks amazing. The food portions are larger than I expected and all of the bowl entrees are under $6.00. You can't get any better than that.

  I am a huge fan of J Gumbo's, and I eat at the Frankfort Ave. location frequently. When I saw that a new J Gumbo's had opened so close to UofL's campus, I decided to stop in for lunch. When I walked in, I was immediately impressed with the large dining room at this location, which is accompanied by a pretty spacious bar area and a multitude of TVs (this would be a great place to watch a UofL game). I ordered the Voodoo Chicken. The service was prompt and my to-go order was prepared quickly.
  
  However, upon making it back to my office I noticed that the portion size of my meal was not what I have come to expect from other J Gumbo's locations around town. In addition, I was surprised to find that the garlic bread was Texas Toast and not the delicious French Bread served at other locations. Overall, I had a good experience, but this just didn't quite feel like the J Gumbo's that I know and love.
