the atmosphere is great: minimalistic decor, good lighting...
the service, ok: the waiter never introduced himself, just walked up filled up our water then walked off without saying anything. when he came back he asked if we had any questions. Â i asked him if he was our waiter... he was.
but the food... the food was phenomenal.
go try it...
We ate here on thursday night during restaurant week, it was the only place available. Â Â The was a bar table open so we sat there. Â The decor is very basic and cool, the light fixtures rock. Â
The bread with sea salt was good. Â We added some fried gouda croquettes, they were really god but could have been great with a sauce. Â The endive salad was very good with its vinegary dressing as was the bruschetta. Â The chicken and lamb dishes were good also. Â The lemon tart was great and the chocolate pot was good. Â Defiantly for star for what we paid. Â I think the regular priced menu is a little overpriced. Â The wait staff and bartender were awesome, five stars for them. Â The bartender came over and explained the light fixtures story to us and that was cool.
I've been here twice now. My first visit was more of a 2 star experience, and my most recent visit was more of a 4 star one, so I'll average it out to 3. I first went here with a  DDLC, and the service was quite negligent. Our food was nothing special, and because it was so overpriced, I was not excited to return here again. Recently, I went back with my work friends, for happy hour. We chose a nice little table in the corner of the bar for their "Community Hour." Most of the ladies ordered a glass of the house wine, but I ordered their Leopold's blackberry whiskey cocktail. $5 for a cocktail with Leopold's!?! I was pumped, and when my drink arrived I was not disappointed. We also ordered the fried gouda, the roasted beets, and the bruschetta. All of it was really delicious, but they were definitely "small bite" plates, so we each (there were 5 of us) got literally a bite. Since that was what we were there for, it was perfect. I'll definitely be back for Community Hour again.
