Normally, I don't like to have Mexican food delivered because its best had in the restaurant but this place is the exception to the rule! Everything was great, I can only imagine how wonderful it must be to actually eat there. The price was right and now this is going to be my go-to place for Mexican cuisine!
Review Source:A good friend introduced me to La Cabana de Don Luis, and I am thankful that he did! Â Upon sitting down, we were promptly brought 3 different salsa, a refried bean dip, and tortilla chips. Â All complimentary and all delicious! Â
For my meal, I decided to do what any sensible gringo does...order a burrito. The Al Pastor Burrito was massive in both size and flavor. Â The meat was not over-cooked, but moist and flavorful. Â
Overall, I had a great experience, and I will definitely return.
NEVER again. EVER!!!!! I'd rather starve for weeks than eat here.. ok dramatic, but get my point?
I had to run to my laptop to write this review. I just ordered their pastor, barbacoa, cochinito pibin, and skirtsteak tacos to bring to work. Â AWFUL!! I doubt that this was an off day for them because everything for their hard, dry corn tortillas to their fatty and low quality meats was unacceptable. I would be embarassed to serve this if it were my restaurant, and I was embarassed to bring this to my coworker who anticipated good tacos.
It's not that hard to put good meat on a tortilla, people.
Avoid this place, I don't know where these good reviews are coming from but I barely got through one taco and that was out of politeness.
Monday nights in Lincoln Square are always challenging for the carry out eater. Â Such was the case until I stumbled upon Mr. Luis' cabin, a.k.a. La Cabana de Don Luis. Â One step through the front door and I began to wonder what I was in for. Â It was empty (understandable for 10:30 on a Monday night) and all was quiet except for the sounds of Telemundo on the dining room TV. Â At this point I'm starving so there's no turning back. Â My three taco dinner is cooked to order (no piles of meat on the cooktop waiting to be served) and I head back home. As I plow through my meal each taco gets better than the last. Â The chorizo was pretty standard, but the orange infused cochinita pibil was quite tasty, and the tender, beefy lengua was my fav of the three. Â I had previously written this place off as just another Mexican joint but I'm glad I gave them a try. Â They now have a solid spot on my Monday night carry out list.
Review Source:Reading the yelp reviews you would think it was a guarantee that it would be perfect. While the food was good it did not blow me away nor did it live up to the reviews. That being said, tamales were really good. Salsa was just ok, all the salsa selections were hot to very hot, I would have liked a more mild option The pork taco not much flavor. The tostada was huge but the ground beef did not have a much of flavor punch that I would have liked! I love the people that own the place, so nice, inviting and friendly.
Review Source:I was really craving a bean burrito (considering I'm trying to lower my calorie intake and take in more fiber) but I didn't feel like paying the same price for a veggie burrito as the other meat burritos. Â I chose to try the Al Pastor everyone was raving about on yelp $5.50, if I really wanted my money's worth I should have gotten the steak now that I think of it. The huge Al Pastor burrito was okay but I wished the pork was more shredded or slice than the texture it was. Â I tried a tiny chicken and chorizo taco $2 each so I'd know how those fillings would taste in a burrito. The Rick Bayless programs became a reality to me as I bit into these tiny tacos generously topped with freshly chopped cilantro. The salsas were incredible and without them the dishes wouldn't have been as enjoyable to me. Â I'm sure this was 100 percent authentic Mexican, but to be honest, I would have been happy with a generic bean burrito from Taco Bell and their 12 pack box of hard shell tacos. Â I realize I'm probably just not really into real Mexican food. Â Not a fan of the textures and flavors of the handmade soft corn taco shells. Â If I was really into authentic Mexican, I would rate this much higher. Â I really shouldn't be rating this at all since I'm not a fan of authentic Mexican period. Â The lady at the counter was really nice and I'd like to try a gordito or tostado some other time. Â This is probably my second visit in years but like the first time, I'm not really desiring to make a trip back soon.
Review Source:I do love hitting up random small mexican places in the city. These are the kind of places that are fun to walk into and have their own different flavor.
I'm a lover of the tamale. I mean, how can you not like some meat wrapped in pressed corn? They were advertising their own tamales, so I naturally had to try one. They give you a ton in the one giant tamale. I got the green chilli one and I then made the mistake of adding more sauce on it. I normally can handle spice, but I goofed a slight bit here. Still, it was damn good and they didn't hold back on the chicken.
I also had to do my usual on the tacos. Yet again, they stuffed these like no tomorrow with meat and chicken. I is a happy camper. The tacos were very good and pretty much everything that I expected.
Since I was in a gorging mood, I got a small quesadilla. I like the smaller sizes available so that you only get like 2 or 3 slices. The simplicity was the key here. It certainly did make me want to try their other quesadilla's.
This was pretty cheap too. Very quick as I had just stopped by here while running some errands. Granted, there weren't that many people in at lunch, but it was still pretty fast. Needless to say, they are now fully on my radar.
OK, this is my new favorite spot for quick, casual mexican food. Â They bring you three wonderful salsas and a small plate of frijoles with your chips. Â How sweet is that? Very sweet. Â Every sauce is good too. Â I had an al pastor torta. Â It was generously large and cooked just right. Â Many places over cook their al pastor. Â I say this as a person who enjoys well done steak. Â They nailed it. Â Also had a delicious cup of mexican hot chocolate. Â
Garcia's may win on ambience or if you want margaritas. Â But this place is worth a try.
Forget Garcia's!! They're not going anywhere. Keep this little place in business! Granted, in the many times I've been there I haven't tried a ton of things, but what I have had has been great. Example: if you like chorizo, I have to imagine you'll like theirs. It's D. Lish. Probably the best I've had.
I'm a huge (huge) fan of their salsas as well--one verde, one roja, and one I've never seen before that's yellowy-orange and super spicy. I love spicy. Just great, tasty salsas.
When you dine in, you get free chips and salsa WITH BEANS. Who does that? This place. Awesome.
Nice, attentive servers. They've always been super sweet to me and anyone I've brought.
The only thing that would make me dock half a star is that they claim to be open until at least midnight every night, and my experience has taught me that the actual closing time varies (ie weeknights they usually close by 10 or 11).
Enjoy Univision/Telemundo soaps while you eat in. :)
I would give it 4.5 stars only because they do not have an online menu, but the food was awesome and deserves 5. Â The service was excellent as well. Â I ordered lunch for 12 people and got a wide variety of things from Gorditas, Burritos, Tacos, and Nachos. Â I think I ordered 50 different things and the whole bill with tip was $130.00 Â Would for sure recommend to anyone looking for good mexican, or any reps bringing lunches to doctors offices.
Review Source:Some of the best tacos in the city.
I have been here a few time and the food has always been good, but the tacos - the various Pork ones especially, are some of the best I have ever had. Â Their salsas are also very good and unique... the habanero is extremely hot.
The service is slow/casual but very friendly. Â Once, when our waitress disappeared for a while I went to the counter in a huff only to find her washing massive pots and pans in the back. Â I wasn't as upset then and helped myself to the ice water.
It is BYOB and their coke in the glass bottle tasted a little old.
Great place, The food is authentic Mexican for the most part, their Flautas where some of the best I've ever had, their tacos weren't that good but the Tostadas were awesome. I ate all chicken and by friend lover the Pork Gorditas. Their Horchata water was super good and what was best is that I ate to my heart's content for only 13 dlrs + 20% tip.
Service was good with a smile, patience and good attention.
I Definitely will go back if I fancy some Mexican food.
P.S. I am Mexican. I know Genuine Mexican food when I taste it and this one gets MIGHTY close to the real deal. It could as well be the real deal in some other part of Mexico but, being from the capital, I felt it was just a tiny bit off but still Incredibly Good.
Completely average local taco place. Prices are average, Decor is completely average, the Taco's are slightly above average, but their entrees are average. What else can I say this place is average.
We check it out once every couple weeks or so because we live so close, it's good, but not special by any means.
We came upon this place while Christmas shopping in Lincoln Square. I never knew it was even there, but it might be new too, so maybe that explains it. The inside is sort of big (warehouse-like), and while more could be done from a décor standpoint, no real complaints.
Except one - 4 flat screen televisions blasting basketball games right over our heads? Were you pretending to be a bar? I saw a bar certainly, but no one was sitting at it - people were eating! If we'd wanted basketball, we'd have gone to a sports bar.
Alright, so on to the food. The chips and fresh salsa were a great start - it is clear that they make their own salsa, and possibly even make their own chips. We ordered guacamole - this I doubt they make in house, but it was still pretty good. It could have used a little salt and lime though.
I ordered enchiladas in a vaguely red sauce...they were pretty decent - no complaints at all there! My girlfriend had enchiladas too - her's was in a mole sauce. She said they were very good, but I noticed the mole sauce sort of seemed to set and harden like concrete or the chocolate from a dipped ice cream cone...that was a bit odd, but she said they were good!
Prices were quite reasonable too and service was adequate. All in all, a good experience. I might not go there twice a week, but I would go back.
Really good authentic Mexican food. I should know I'm Mexican. :). I had The Caldo de Res, delicious. It hit the spot on a cold Fall evening. And they give you chips with 3 different Salsa's and a small plate of refried beans to start. All three Salsa's were great my favorite was the red one. The Orange one was good also but it was super Hot! Be careful. This place is clean and bright with good table service. I'll be back, so glad to have found them in my neighborhood.
Review Source:The good news is that the food is very good. The ingredients are good quality, most dishes are served with a sprinkling of fresh cilantro. When it's delivered, it's packed well and arrives hot.
The bad news is that the staff is more of a hindrance than a help. First, phone orders are difficult because no one in the restaurant seems to speak English at more than a basic level. Not that it should matter - "taco" is the same in both languages, isn't it?
The last time I ordered, the lady who took my order over the phone was having trouble taking my address. When I called an hour later to find out if my food was forthcoming, she claimed that the delivery person had buzzed my apartment to no avail, and then she refused to believe me that I had been home.
While the food is tasty and fresh, I don't know if it's worth jumping through this many hoops when so many good Mexican restaurants are nearby.
I'm ecstatic that this place is in my square.
Taco (carne asada)- good
Torta (milanesa)- good
Chilaquiles (verde)- good
Tilapia- good
Horchata- good
Coffee- good
What makes their food amazing are their salsas. One of the rare instances I Â enjoy salsa rojo is because of this restaurant. I'm sure you'll find something to love here.
Enjoy the wafting sensuous smells of toilet ceramic and nose-burning bath cleaner. Either it's 1) got super dirty bathrooms or 2) super clean kitchen or 3) dirty bathrooms with a side of cleanliness.
I'll go with #3.
I'd forgive that if the food were...good. Or if the service was...decent. Chica at the counter couldn't care less that I was there. I was the second patron in the place, so it's not like they were busy.
The chips came with 3 salsas, which made me, salsa afficionada, very emocianada. But all 3 were borrrrring.
My meal was completely immemorable. I think I had some kind of watered down quesadilla.
Prices were cheap, but what does it matter if I have to shove the food in my unwelcoming mouth? Really boring food and uncomfortable seating atmosphere. I just wanted a nice solo lunch in the area. I should have gone to starbucks. Â :(
Don Luis, your cabin stinks. Literally.
I've been meaning to check this place out ever since some slobbering drunk at the Atlantic Bar swore by this place. Finally, wifey & I decided to walk up here over the weekend. Being the astute wife of an alcoholic, she says, "Its BYOB, so throw a few beers in my purse." OK, it didn't take me but a millisecond to agree with her.
When we walked in, this place is cleaner than I expected. I assumed it was going to be some greasy taco stand, but its actually very clean, and the tables have white cloths on them. A full mexican menu, and it is table service, not the counter service as I expected.
I ordered the carne asada burrito, suizo style, and wifey (as usual) opted for the enchiladas. Now, this was one damn good burrito. Much better than Garcia's.
Great service, really good food, and reasonable prices. $18 for two entrees & wifey's tea. We left fat and happy!
I will return.
After spending the day walking around the downtown area, riding back on the El and then walking home from the brown line on Lawrence, we were pretty hungry. We passed a few restaurants along Lincoln but nothing made us look twice. Until the wonderful smell of steak wafted out the door of La Cabana de Don Luis.
When you walk in, you think you're walking into a cafeteria. Not much going on as far as atmosphere. The soccer game is on the overhead TV. Maybe 8 or 10 tables total. But, it smells and looks clean. That's what matters to me rather than the decorations and such. Its a family run business and we're here to try them out and support our neighbors. I can't believe they've been here for a year and a half and we never knew. Glad to have finally found them.
Oh yea, lets go in here. It smells good. We sat down, ordered a couple of soft drinks, steak burritos, beef tacos, quesadillas. The waitress brought us some chips and salsa (green and orange). Hubby dug into the orange, nearly cried! lol! I loved it. It was a good heat. I think I used the rest of it on my burrito.
Burritos were very nice. Not too much beans, lots of steak, good seasoning. The tacos were decent (I'm not a fan of beef, I prefer steak but my sister doesn't so... she ate them and was the one who was saying she wasn't even hungry) The quesadilla was pretty good too. Fresh sour cream, tomato and lettuce competed the dish.
I don't know, I really liked the food. I'm pretty hard to please when it comes to Mexican food. I enjoyed it and so did my husband and sister. In fact, he wants to go back today! It's actually very economical. $5.50 for a nice size steak burrito is a bargain. I couldn't even finish it! I took the other half home to my dad and he said it was real good. He's not easy to please for sure. We'll be going again. Maybe not tonight, but real soon for sure!
I am sad to be writing this. Â My husband and I have been ordering from this place since it opened, but we've just had it.
If you carry-out: CHECK YOUR ORDER. Â We are always turning around and going back because they forgot something (i.e. the chips for the guacamole or the tortillas for fajitas). Â It is constant and it is annoying.
Delivery is a mess- don't do it. Â When they forget something you will never get them to turn around and come back. Â
We have been burned so many times that we have to say goodbye to this place, which is sad.
When we order Tacos, this is where we get them from. They are fast, cheap and sooooo good!
I'm not a fan of their Guac, to many tomatoes and not enough Avocado for my tastes, but everything else we have had is wonderful. The ingredients are fresh and they are very friendly.
WARNING: When eating in, the orange-ish salsa is STUUUUUPPPIIIIDDDD Hot! Running nose hot! But wonderful. Â This is our "taco" place.
Try: The Side dish of rice and the Nachos. Yum!
I was having one of those wickedly bad days today. After being dicked around at various doctor's offices, waiting in total for five.five hours, i FINALLY had a chance to eat something. I drive by here repeatedly, and finally decided to try this sucker out.
I had the taco dinner special.
Rice, beans and three tacos underneath a massive helping of cilantro and mint or some green stuff. Scarffed down hurriedly. Delicious. The rice had corn and carrots and some tomatos in it. Also, scarffed down. Lime Jurritos? Sipped.
Cheap bill, but due to me being a jerk (typical), the 50% tip is well worth it.
Plus they have a Yelp sticker on the door. Parking lot in the back CAN get dicey.
Delicious! I discovered this place less than a week ago, and I've already been there twice. I'm very picky about my burritos. Their style burrito is so good. They put onions and cliantro inside. Sooo good. I'm really happy to have found a solid mexican take-out place.
I would rate higher if the rice and refried beans were better...one day the beans were watery, another day overcooked. Oh well. The burrito is big enough that I can barely get to the sides.
I'm frequently in the Lincoln Square neighborhood and have always passed by this place but never tried it until recently. Â The fact that Garcia's closed for renovations was the push for my boyfriend and me to finally try this place. Â We were pleasantly surprised to say the least!
We went in to order carryout since we didn't have time to sit. Â The server was very gracious and also gave us iced waters while we waited and watched a Spanish soap op. Â The place itself is on the smaller side (8-12 tables?) but parking's always been good on Lincoln. Â We got a burrito, torta, the "Nacho Supremo" side, and an horchata. Â The side of nachos was a great deal, as it included super-fresh tomatoes and avocados, sour cream, jalapenos, cheese beans and lettuce. Â My burrito included sour cream and the torta included avocado - nice not to have to pay extra! Â They provide two kinds of salsa to go. Â We both enjoyed our meal and the horchata was legit.
Overall it was a great first time experience and we've already been back a few times since. Â They never seem really busy so give em a try, the food's super cheap!
I've had a pretty mixed set of experiences at La Cabana.
For the plus, they're always really nice and the prices are really cheap. Â Plus last time I went, while waiting, I got to watch some 80s movie starring Hulk Hogan en Espanol. Â Sweet.
But the variance in the food I've eaten was like night and day. Â The torta milanesa I got the first time I went there was absolutely off-the-hook fantastic. Â I was totally impressed.
So naturally I went back to get a veggie burrito, 'cause I like those. Â I even thought I was being pretty smart for asking for one with no rice.
I got a tortilla filled with grilled peppers, cilantro, onion, and lettuce. Â Literally a salad in a tortilla. Â That'd be fine if that's what I was expecting , but where the heck were the beans & cheese?!? Â I sort of surmise their "veggie" burrito is actually vegan. Â I figure that's good for vegans, but not good for me as I am not.
So basically, I will totally get my torta fix here, but the burrito zone remains Garcia's. Â Good to have multiple options, I suppose.
This restaurant is as good as many of the family owned places in Pilsen. Â They take pride in their food and it shows. Â Before you go, I do need to warn you about two things: 1) the orangey salsa is mui calente, like liquid fire, but sooooo good and 2) the juke box is mui loudisimo. Â I made the mistake of playing 1 song and it was so loud we cleared out the joint. Â People across the street thought Olga Tanon was giving a concert. Â Othewise, what everyone else says is true. Â Inexpensive and a great value. Â I like places where you can tell that they care about every new customer and welcome return customers like family. Â I am a fan for sure.
Review Source:The food here, overall, is just okay. Though, I do agree with a previous poster that the guacamole is fantastic. It's also a cute place that livens up this rather dead corner.
I had carne asada, which was not seasoned particularly well and had more fat on it than I care for. I'm sure I'll be here again as I live right up the street. So I'll just try something else.
Finally, our search for good Mexican food in Lincoln Square is over! Â After being disappointed by Garcia's, Asadero and Erik's (I just don't understand why they are all so popular?) we ventured north on Lincoln Ave last night to try La Cabana.
I was first impressed by the bright, clean interior and then we were warmly welcomed by a small plate of beans, chips and three salsas. We had never seen the orange (habanero I'm guessing) salsa, but my husband ended up spooning it over everything.
I was next impressed by the menu -- both the array of options (plenty of veggie and seafood choices) and the prices. Tacos start at $1.50, tostadas and gorditas are $3, and dinners cost in the $8-$11 range. We ordered the guacamole (our litmus test) and were surprised when the platter of freshly made guac arrived. For $4 you can't even buy the amount of ingredients.
My husband is very picky about his Pastor, and he said it was the best he's tried in the area. His HUGE burrito only cost $5. I had the Shrimp Veracruzana, which was salty ('cause of the olives) but very flavorful. My dinner included rice, tortillas and a fresh salad (not the dried out shaved lettuce from a bag), and only cost $10. I have another dinner sitting in my fridge now.
There are many more menu items we would like to try, and even though they deliver we would rather walk up and eat their home cooking straight from the kitchen. We were too full to try the colombian bakery (and Crema was already closed), but we'll be back!
My boyfriend and I have ordered from here three times to make sure that it wasn't a fluke that the food was mediocre.
I always appreciate restaurants that make sure to offer vegetarian options and was excited when I saw they had a vegetarian burrito. However I was confused when my burrito had peas in it. And the green peppers were very soggy and over cooked. Â The cheese quesadilla was mushy, but the two hot sauces included were okay. My boyfriend did enjoy his spicy wings, but wasn't impressed with his burrito either.
Before you write me off as another gringa con pobre sabor I do have a great love for well executed, flavorful Mexican cuisine.
I know, you're all wondering what I did on Casimir Pulaski day (<a href="/redir?url=http%3A%2F%2Fen.wikipedia.org%2Fwiki%2FCasimir_Pulaski_Day&s=bc3f412023a87a47aefaaafb6283091f535d42c76bc92c6c9471cc3342e92766" target="_blank" rel="nofollow">http://en.wikipedia.org/…</a>)? Â
Oh...You weren't wondering. Â Well, I'll tell you anyway.
To commemorate a Polish Revolutionary War general's holiday, I ate Mexican, at Cabana de Don Luis. Â Nope, no hidden irony. Â
You really can't beat this price point people. Â My fiancee and I wolfed down tacos and burritos al pastor, including drinks and a quesadilla, for around eleven dollars. Â I was on the verge of jumping for joy when we received our bill. Â Are you friggin' serious? Â A meal for two for eleven dollars inside Chicago city limits?
The food itself was pretty standard fare. Â But I really can't look past the price. Â And did I mention they have free chips with three kinds of salsa (green=mild, red=hot, orange=taste-bud singeing fury) and a small plate of refried beans with shredded cheese. Â Always a plus in my book. Â
The menu looked comprehensive (mariscos, desayuno, etc). Â The service was prompt (we were the only ones there), and courteous. Â Many people came and went, picking up takeout orders. Â This place is the truth. Â Come on everyone, we gotta keep this place in business. Â It's too good and too cheap not to frequent. Â Dammit.
As we stumbled from the Cabana, sated, and boarded our bus, I thanked my lucky stars I had the day off. Â And shortly thereafter, a Russian guy boarded and started punching the window in anger at the person on the other end of his cell phone.
"Chill the hell out," I wanted to say, "don't you know it's Casimir Pulaski day?"
Usually with a busy schedule I'm just lazy about putting my reviews up, but I'm just had to get this review up!
So first off, this place is good! The prices are really cheap and the food is just really good! It is really a small place that I don't expect people to travel to just for the food, but it's not just good for the area.. It's better than that!
I guess what got me was the service though. I think the lady was part owner of the place and she came out with not just chips and the usual salsa, but there was a strange yellow one too! My friend says it's queso, but I've honestly never had queso that hot before! Quite delicious though! I expect the reg and green salsa, but the addition of the yellow one just made it feel like such a great value! I guess just little extras like that goes a long way for me!
Back to the price, I had 2 lengua tacos, 1 quesadilla, 1 tostada, and a drink for like 7 bucks! That's value to me..
I like to get lengua, but only if I think the place is going to be good for it and this one really was.. Usually it's more expensive, but in taco format it's the same price so totally worth it to me..
If you're ever stuck by Ravenswood, Andersonville, or Lincoln Square then by all means please check this place out!
Three burritos (veggie, chicken, tongue- oh yeah!) two small cheese quesadillas, chili rellenos and chips and salsa - $30.
The Cabana of Don Luis scores big on the the budget side of things. And in the big arsed burritos in foil category they win big. Â Plus they have lengua which is, though unconventional, highly delicious. Â
The chips+salsa order came with a giant bag of tortillas I suspect were recently fried and two 12 oz styrofoam cups 2/3 filled with red and green salsas. Â I'm not sure about the packaging choice from an environmental or a inability to dip standpoint but they were solid and maybe just over the line of too spicy enough.
Hmmmm. I was really bummed after seeing so many 5 star reviews. I love me some Mexican food--and can appreciate a dive as much as Topolo. So I was super jazzed to try La Cabana out.
The guac was good--limey, chunky, and served with lightly crunchy chps. Sabor!
The beans were wicked delish as well.
But the carnita--oh the carnitas were awful. They were soooo dried out. Carnitas should be brown, juicy, and slightly caramelized. These were not. They had an awful taste. I didn't eat them.
The server was really sweet and awesome--though she was much friendly once she realized I spoke Spanish.
After all of the hullabaloo and copious excellent reviews, I was eager to check out La Cabana de Don Luis. I've walked by the new digs on a couple of occasions. Last night, I trudged through the snow to see what all of the fuss was about. Well.....
It was worth every snow-encrusted step!!
Upon walking in, you immediately notice the new and clean interior, complete with tables, table clothes, plants and the signature TV blaring Mexican soap operas. Aha, I thought, we're off to a good start. The fact of the matter is, this place is a taqueria, through and through. You'd get what you'd expect from such a place. However, my heart throbbed when our waitress came out wielding three different types of salsas, a plate of beans and some freshly fried tortillas!! The three salsas were absolutely phenomenal. One was orange with a creamy texture, peppery flavor and a huge kick of heat. The second was a green salsa that had a certain sweetness to it. The third, a red salsa which was really smoky and once again, a good amount of heat. My girlfriend and myself agreed, the salsa was special. Even though we were practically weeping from the heat, we couldn't stop eating it and the flavors underneath were worth every mouth-charring bite.
I had three Al Pastor tacos. They were some of the best i've had in the city. Simple and clean, you get onions, cilantro and lime. However, I noticed that the meat also had a bit of pineapple cut up in it, which I loved. My girlfriend had a tostada, which was ridiculously huge and looked delicious. The best part? We felt super full and when I got the bill, I almost fell off my seat. $11 for two people!!! Hot damn, i've found my new favorite neighborhood taqueria. Check this spot out, they are flat out fantastic
This cute little place deserves your attention. Â I stopped in here spontaneously on afternoon and I was really impressed. Â They have amazing food and ridiculously low prices...as in, someone should probably tell them to charge more! Â Before you order you get a complimentary plate of re-fried beans to go with your complimentary chips and salsa. Â And you get 3 kinds of salsa: a salsa verde, a smokey red salsa and an orange salsa that has some nice kick to it. Â I don't know what is in the orange salsa but I couldn't get enough. Â My first meal was quesadillas con creme and a chorizo taco. Â Between these two dishes and the chips, beans and salsa, it was a hardy, filling meal. Â The bill: $3.86 with tax! Â Try the Al Pastor while you are there...there is a hint of pineapple. Â You can't go wrong at this place...I am convinced.
