Talk about versatility in a warm friendly environment and most of all AMAZING food with exceptional service.  My girlfriends and I brunch together frequently and this past Monday we elected to sit at the bar since Corey (God's gift to mankind) was the bartender.  Not only did he make amazing recommendations for us on the menu but he along with the rest of the staff were so nice and pleasant!

I had the chipotle chicken sandwich and died because it was so good tears came to my eyes.  The bloody marys are killer and so is watching Corey work ;) I recommend this place, for you, you boyfriend/girlfriend, your other boyfriend girlfriend, your mom, your dad, your granny, and all the kids.

WHAT ARE YOU WAITING FOR? GO NOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Everything we ordered was good but nothing really stood out as great. For appetizers we had the calamari, buffalo shrimp and mussels. For my entree I ordered the bacon wrapped meatloaf. You really can't go wrong with anything wrapped in bacon and this was no exception. I only wish the actual meatloaf would have had a better consistency. We had a party of 12 and everyone seemed to enjoy their food.

Pretty darn good fried chicken breast.  Great place to relax after a long day in DC.

To be perfectly honest, I find dining in DC overall disappointing. Compared to other cities, it just tends to be overpriced and good but not great.

Logan Tavern is a solid, good experience. You get your moneys worth is quality and service. Its not the most amazingly upscale meal, but you can get a simple burger up to a really good grade of steak or fish for very decent prices. It's a lovely atmosphere. Great drinks and just a good restaurant.

Our last experience was extra great because of our really awesome waitress Morgan. We had a party of 8 people in our late 20's/early 30's on a Friday night after a long week of work and we were a handful. But Morgan was patient, knowledgeable of some of the entire menu and really helpful to some diet restrictions and at keeping our party going.

If you go to Logan Tavern, try to sit in Morgans section. : )

    Your local neighborhood watering hole.

I've been here a few times and have been unimpressed by their burgers which seems to be a big selling point on their menu (dry patty, dry bun, needed a whole glass of water to wash those things down!) but their kale Caesar salad with cauliflower croutons sends my heart a flutter! And I am a girl who would choose a burger over a salad, 100% of the time.

Crunchy, creamy and spicy with unexpected ingredients this is totally something I would try to recreate at home with failed results. I'll leave it to the experts here!

Also, their french fries rock my socks.

This is a good neighborhood gastropub, but nothing to blow your mind away. Yes, its great that Logan Square has a place like this for local get togethers over sanely priced everything.

The food was is simply upscaled tavern food with some amusing names, delicious - but nothing super creative or unique that you couldn't get at dupont circle.

Oh and what is really great about Logan Tavern is that you can actually park near there!!

I went with a party of friend, to celebrate a friend's birthday. The food was good, but not overwhelming. It's a trendy place for sure, but I think you can do way better in the area in terms of price vs quality.

Honestly, in the daylight the place is pretty unassuming. Nothing very fancy going on. I mean, it's a tavern aka bar. But the food, while it could have been run of the mill ordinary was actually pretty good!

My turkey burger was delicious, topped with a ton of grilled veggies on a slightly toasted soft bun. It was a really big burger too! On top of that I ordered the heirloom tomato's. Gotta get them while they're in season! It was a mixture of red, green and yellow cherry tomatoes tossed with pesto sauce and mozzarella cheese. It was a really awesome combo and the tomatoes were super fresh.

The only thing that was weird was that my tomato that came with the burger was really crappy. But that's just being nitpicky! I also treated myself to a bloody mary. I know "treated" is taken pretty loosely here... I just wanted a bloody mary! While their full bloody mary menu isn't available on weekdays (I know, bloody mary MENU!), everything I wanted to order I got. Pepper vodka, a splash of horsey sauce and some olives. Done! It was spicy and delicious!

Just the right treat to have midday! With tons of great food, this isn't just a bar... er tavern!

My fiancée and I checked out Logan Tavern on a whim while looking for a quick bite near Logan Square.

The Tavern had a cool gastropub feel, and offered indoor and outdoor seating was available.

We had a regular burger with provolone and fries and a Texas BBQ brisket burger with mac and cheese. The burgers were very juicy and flavorful, but the BBQ one was especially out of this world. The sauce and brisket really stepped the already great burger up a notch.

Fries were standard, but fresh and crispy. The mac and cheese was also great-- the pasta was al dente in a creamy sauce with baked cheese on top.

The service was OK.  We made it clear to our server that we were catching a baseball game that night, but he didn't seem to stream things along, and we ended up leaving a lot later than we have liked.

That said, if you have the time to spare, highly recommended!

To update a review that I write earlier this summer....
Some friends came to town and wanted to go back to Logan, we had a beautiful evening and sat on outside. I was pleased to see some changes to the menu! I tried that hangar steak - it was fantastic. I love to see hangar on a menu, it's a cut that isn't used often enough! The kale side was wonderful too. Our server recommended a delicious bottle of red that was extremely reasonably priced too, overall the best experience that I have had there to date!

Yelp says that it's not good for kids. Completely false. Prompt seating, great attention to our family of five needs and quick food delivery for kids. We had great beer and wine choices and enjoyed two fantastic chicken dishes and we never order chicken. Mussels for apps had amazing flavor.  And we never order chicken. Bravo.

I didn't have high expectations for Logan Tavern when I stopped in for lunch one day, but even with that, I can't muster up more than two stars.

To sum it up...it's just too expensive for what you get.  If I had spent $10 (rather that $15) on my Turkey burger, maybe I would give it 3 stars.  The food after all was good enough.  The problem is that you are getting average chain restaurant quality food and paying about 50% too much for it.  If you've read any of my reviews, you will see I have no issue with higher prices as long as the food delivers.

This was my first time here, I came with a large group of friends, most of whom was visiting from out of town. The restaurant seemed to have a good number of people. However, I was not overly impressed with the service and food.

Service was a bit on the slower side. I started off with the Honey-Jito, which was overly sweet. The entire bottom content of my glass was just plain old white sugar. You would like that a drink using honey syrup would derive it's sweetness from the honey and not necessarily sugar. When we mentioned that it was too sweet, the server took it back and added more soda to it. Basically, I did not finish my drink. Neither did my other friend who ordered the same cocktail.

We started off with the Blue-Point oysters, which I found to be very gritty and not cleaned very well. Out of the eight people at the table, I ordered the Baby Spinach Salad with chicken. My salad was also the last to come out. A good 3-5 minutes after everyone else's entree. The chicken that was taking forever to cook, came out dried. My salad was supposed to have candied walnuts, which it did not. The orange sections that accompanied it still had the orange seeds. No one else raved about their entrees, it was a bit underwhelming. I didn't want to make a hassle about my salad considering it took long enough to arrive. However, I don't think that this place warrants a second visit.

Just an update to say two things: First, Logan Tavern's food is as good as ever. Still love the brunch, still love the atmosphere.

Second: Between my original review and now, I discovered that I really like Bloody Mary's and Logan Tavern is supposed to have some of the best in town. They have a do-it-yourself menu where you choose your alcohol (horshradish-infused vodka for me - it was sooo good!), your spice-level, spice for the rim of the glass (Old Bay!) and veggies and other garnishes. They're sizeable and very reasonably priced. Definitely as good as advertised!

Excellent service. We had 45 minutes to eat before catching a show at Studio Theater, so I thought we'd try our luck eating here. We explained our timing to our host, and got a table on the nice patio out front. The server for the patio was slammed with customers, but the host quickly noticed, and took our orders himself. Food was quick, I had the lamb burger, which was juicy and well seasoned. I wouldn't get it any more cooked than medium, though. Tzatziki on a burger, great idea. Fries were fries, whatever. Bill taken care of, we just made it to the theater on time.

A+ for service, burger was good - maybe I'll review again when I can try the more interesting menu items.

My college-aged daughter and I go here regularly...we have found the food, service and atmosphere to be great.  The outdoor seating is quite nice in this eccentric neighborhood.  The basics like fried chicken and meatloaf are top notch.  I've never ordered meatloaf at a restaurant until someone else did and I tried it...fantastic.  Chicken paillard is great.

the soy-ginger calamari and brussel sprout appetizers are fantastic and we get it nearly everytime we go.

We had a light dinner here. The gazpacho was not as cold as it should have been. But the Kale Caesar salad was good. A nice selection of beer. Good atmosphere. And good service.

great dependable restaurant with a little something for everyone.  definitely enjoyed it.

A good brunch here on a beautiful Sunday. They easily did gluten free, and the servers were educated on it. I had the chorizo omelet with fruit (substituted for the breakfast potatoes that had gluten in them) and enjoyed it. I also had the bacon wrapped blue cheese stuffed figs for an appetizer. YUM!

The prices were not bad. The service was good, no one was overly energetic about their job, but they were nice and the food came hot and in good time.

They have build your own bloody mary's that many members of our party enjoyed!

Had a salad with chicken-  normally an afterthought for a place like this, it had green olives, fried onions, egg, and avocado with a delicious basily vinaigrette. The flavors went together so well, and it came across as a sophisticated and well-planned dish. I know, chicken salad. And the Logan 75, a gin cocktail with lavender and some other flavors, was PERFECTION. Knocked my socks off. I'll be back!

Met a friend here for an early dinner.  I had the calamari appetizer which was very delicious.  The sauce used was a bit spicy and very tasty!  I then had the special (which our awesome kickass server Rachel recommended) which was the Turkey Schnitzel.  It was AMAZING!!!  I mean, you deep fry anything and it's pretty good and I'm a huge fan of Schnitzel and the turkey was awesome as was the sweet pea puree it was served with.

The front area near the kitchen and front door was a bit warmer than I had liked to sit at but noticed the back room area was much cooler.  I don't do well with humidity and DC is extremely much more humid than the suburbs.  However, the atmosphere and food got them 4 stars.  Rachel got them the 5th star because her explanation of the specials and her attentiveness was beyond par.  I'm definitely coming back as long as she's there!

This has been a favorite restaurant for dinner and brunch for years. BUT they have re-done the menu and some favorite sandwiches are gone. I ordered the grilled cheese and asked to replace the ham with bacon. The sandwich is completely different though I ordered the same thing a month ago. Server should have told me that upon ordering. My mom had the Asian chicken salad and said it was very bland. Fries were fabulous as was the buffalo shrimp. Unimpressive meal. Might not return and I'm a regular.

Underwhelming food and disappointing service, at least for groups. We came here with a large group on a Friday night with a reservation made well ahead of time.

Service: Overall, just slow. We were there for three and a half hours. Yes, I'm serious. No, it had nothing to do with us doing that thing that groups do and chat for awhile before deciding and after finishing our food. It just took them that long to get around to getting our order, to bringing us our food, and to bring us/process our check. Our server was very kind, but, even with a secondary server, it took ages to get anything we requested.

Food: overpriced and underperforming. Not bad food, certainly, but nothing to write home about. I had the southern fried chicken, but there was nothing about it that made it "southern" or even really "fried." The garlic mash had almost no garlic, and the mac 'n cheese wasn't macaroni, and had way more butter than cheese. The fries were great, though. Everyone seemed to enjoy their drinks, too.

Overall, it's a terrible place for groups, and the food is definitely "meh," although it may be just that it's not good enough to justify the price. A lot of people there were clearly couples on dates, so it may be a much better establishment for patrons like that, especially if you find the right dish. For me, this experience was enough to warrant a "do not return" policy.

Loved, loved, loved this place!  My husband, sister and I tried it out for the first time last night.  We arrived for dinner around 7:00 on a Tuesday and were instantly seated.  Looking through the menu I wanted to try everything!  The cocktail menu was outstanding as well.  There is a Bloody Mary menu with lots to chose from which I will be partaking in when we visit again for brunch.

I finally settled on the Bacon wrapped Meatloaf and it was outstanding.  Seriously, could be last meal worthy.  It came on mashed potatoes and mixed greens.  It was amazing.  My sister got the Crab Cake BLT and my husband got the Lamb Burger.  Everything was great!  The service was awesome.  The host at the front was friendly and always had a smile and our waitress was very sweet and attentive.  We will be back!

Great place to go before hitting a show at the Studio Theater since it's so close by.  We made a reservation but we probably could have been okay not having one also.  They do have outdoor seating as well but if you are in a rush, you may not be able to get one.  Loved the pappardelle pasta and one of my friends enjoyed the crispy brussels sprouts.
If you like spicy, the cactus chili margarita is definitely one to get.  Another friend got the sazarec.  It was more like a shot so depending on how you like it you may want to try something else.
Overall service was great up until our waiter near the end seemed to forget about us which definitely made for us having to rush to the show.

Too many good choices on their menu.  Glad I went with friends so I could sample a few things.  The seasonal berry and arugula salad with citrus and blackberry and raspberry was very good   The pork tortilla soup was unique and tasty (a little mole flavored but still good). I went for the Pappardelle Pasta with asparagus and sundried tomatoes and it was excellent. My buddy had fries with his sandwich and they were tasty.   For dessert we shared red velvet cheesecake which was fantastic, and glad we saved room.   Beer menu isn't too large for a "tavern", but what they pour is decent.  If in the area, I highly recommend this place

I've revisited Logan Tavern since my last review, and things seem to have improved! Today, I had the Logan Platter, I believe it was called, which had the french toast, the eggs, the potatoes, the bacon, and the turkey sausage. Let's start with the abysmal and move to the delicious. The turkey sausage was dry, dry, dry. I couldn't swallow it without the aid of water. It was just...terrible. I'm usually a big fan--I even love the store bought Jennie O's. The bacon was meh, whatever. The eggs were flavorless. BUT THE FREAKING FRENCH TOAST WAS BOMB. So bomb, in fact, that i decided to get an actual order of it, ON TOP of the one that came with my meal. This meal totally killed my caloric intake goal on My Fitness Pal, but it was well worth it.

My boyfriend got the steak and eggs, which he asked for Med-Well. It came out well, but no other complaints otherwise.

Also, shout out to the bottomless iced coffee.

Group of 4 were hungry at 2ish and nearby so we wandered over. Outdoor table set the meal off to good start and the brunch options until 4 pm were just what we didn't know we wanted. Tasty huevos montelenos, brunch platter, crab Benedict and fried chicken. Server friendly and food came without extended wait. This place put me in a good mood.

Had the pleasure of eating here in April.  I arranged a dinner for 20 people and it was a great experience. From the reservation process with Andy to our two servers (I hate that I forgot their names...hey it's been a month), I was sold.

As a disclaimer, I've eaten at their sister restaurant, Grillfish and after a great experience, I booked the restaurant group again, this time at Logan Tavern.  When I find a good thing, I try to stick with it.

Though I was initially turned off by what seemed like slow service, it corrected itself through the evening. Once the entrees came, everything was good. The portion sizes were good and the food itself was very good. Everyone raved about their dishes.

Thank you to Andy and the Logan Tavern staff for making it a great evening.

Going into the Logan Tavern, all I really wanted was a special beer and some food after an extremely long day of work. I was just by myself, and was quite surprised when I came inside, as this place has some real charm. I got my 'special beer' (I like to order different beers than the regular ones that you can get everywhere) and for food I ordered the Southern Fried Chicken and mashed potatoes. It was delicious! Only thing it lacked were some veggies to that, but apparently I was meant to order those separately.

Funny story is that the guy at the bar sitting next to me asked if I enjoyed the food. I told him as above: it could use some veggies. He said he would let the manager know. A little later I found out that he actually was the manager himself! Anyway, I had a great chat with him afterwards and I will definitely be back here for great beers and other dishes, as there were a lot of other interesting choices on the menu.

I got a cheddar avocado burger. It was pretty good, but it was $13 + tax/ tip which ended up being around $17.  I couldve gotten the same thing at BTS for $9

The people I went with had food that was pricier, but was much more interesting. I would say, if you're going to come here, you might as well not cheap out and get a real entree.

There are so many great burger joints in DC it doesn't really make sense to order one at a restaurant.

Live The Heights, I'm surprised this place hasn't gotten better reviews. I've only been here twice but both time I was very pleased with the food.

I don't remember exactly what I ordered on my first round, but it involved some kind of red meat. My friend had some pork and was very happy with it. The second time I went, I had some brussel sprouts that were some of the best I've ever had - really good. Their chicken wings are good, although I think I like the ones at the Heights better. Placebo effect?

My one critique about this place was their calamari. It came dry with no dipping sauce. When we told the bartenders about that, they brought it back swimming in some kind of teriyaki glaze sauce - it tasted good, but the consistency was all messed up. If you order the calamari, you might want to ask for your sauce on the side.

The last time I was there was for drinks on a Friday night. We arrived around 9pm and the place was packed. I felt bad for the people seated at the tables close to the bar.

I only stayed here for one drink because we were in a rush to make a show at Studio Theatre, so I can only share my thoughts for my brief experience at the bar. The bar has a good happy hour. I got the cucumber spritzer, which was amazing! However, it took longer to get the drink than it did to drink it. Once the bartender finally greeted us, he was super nice, but as a fellow bartender, I would never let someone sit that long without even a hello, especially for a bar that small.

The bar infuses its own cucumber, horseradish and pineapple vodka. Also, jalapeno tequilla and basil gin. Yum!

Discovered this gem on the recommendation of our hotel concierge. Yes, it's a tavern, but don't let that fool you. The food is great, and our server was awesome.

Started with a wedge salad - I order these all the time, and I swear its the best one I've ever had. Crumbled blue on top of the blue cheese dressing...and the tomatoes were amazing. I normally wouldn't write about something as mundane as the tomatoes, but good tomatoes when they are not in season? I was in awe.

Ribs and fries for dinner - delish! The ribs were super tender and the fries crispy.

Dessert, however, was lacking. I ordered an apple crisp. The apples were not baked enough, and were, well...crispy. I don't think the apples are supposed to be the "crisp" part of it.

But, dessert wasn't enough to keep me from giving this place a good rating. Good location, nice ambience, and a great combo of both good food and good service!

Visited this place with a group of seven of us! I was excited after stalking the menu online prior to my visit.

I got the "Chorizo Omelette: Chorizo, Onion, Cilantro, Cheddar, and Salsa on top! I love chorizo because of its spicy-ness (this one definitely measured up) and the potatoes on the side! [btw, I substituted the avocado out). Such as fan of the smokiness of chorizo and fluffiness of egg, went perfectly together. Also, the potatoes had a little kick to them as well, paired well with the omelette!

Overall, great meal, decor, and service! Visit this place if you are in the neighborhood! I'll definitely be back.

Okay, let me say off the bat that this is probably closer to 3.5 stars.  4 stars is just a tad too much, while 3 stars doesn't give this place it's adequate due justice.  For one, it's in a nice location on P Street where you can people watch all day.  Come Sunday afternoon and check out all the hotties coming in and out of Whole Foods getting their overpriced fruit so they can still fit into their yogo pants....but I digress.

Anyway, it's a nice little restaurant that has nice outdoor seating if you're looking for that.  The food is pretty standard and nothing exceptional, but the price is also fair too.  What more can I say.  It's a good place to go if you're looking for average food at an average price in an above average location.

Oh yeah, the day I went, there was a dude who was for some reason super sick and threw up all over the entrance. To say this was nasty is an understatement. Fortunately, we finished eating by that time, but that sure cleared the outdoor seating quick.  Just thought I'd throw that in for amusement...:)

I went to dinner with friends at Logan Tavern last night because we wanted to eat outside and enjoy the last remnants of warm weather. The inside was packed but luckily, no wait for outdoor seating, and they turned the heaters on just as we sat down.

I wasn't too thrilled by the menu selection and opted for a burger with avocado. The burger itself was delicious---juicy, moist and cooked perfectly. The fries, on the other hand, were overly salty and a bit crunchy. My friends got the fried chicken with gravy, which they said was quite good, although it would have been nice to know each entree came with a side salad when they placed their orders (I might have ended up getting an entree too, my friends might have substituted soup for the salad). I had a taste of my friend's pistachio-banana tart for dessert, which was different and refreshing in a fall sort-of way. The pistachios were soft, which was unexpected, and the banana flavor, while present, was not very strong.

The food had some positives going for it and I liked the indoor decor, but the service was a bit lacking. Maybe because it was one server for the entire patio, but we had to ask for refills on our waters and then didn't get them for about 10-15 minutes.

I've heard their brunch is good so I might go back to give that a go. Next time though, I'll probably try a different restaurant in the area for dinner.
