Cute and cozy little place! Cheese, meats, pork sliders and wine. Yum. Great with a little live music. Pork slider trio...delicious, cheese platter and meat platter were a nice spread to share with a friend. Best part was the live music, Steve played and sang familiar tunes from 6:30 on the Wednesday evening I was there, great accompaniment to a cozy evening out. Perfect little setting, small and good for couples or a night out with a few friends at the bar.
Review Source:Luxe is a gem in Fairfield County. Cocktails are amazing and wines are superb. The small menue is top notch with cheese from Fairfield Cheese Company. EVERYTHING was great. Cocktails, food, wine and ambience. I feel like we are really lucky to have such a great place in Fairfield County!
Review Source:I came to know Rob and Company last year when I lost my brother who I saw every day. Â My expectations of finding that "third" place to park by presence was far exceeded. Â In fact you can find me there every Tuesday and Thursday...but leaning to add Fridays as the best way to end any week as a way to celebrate successes or recover from stress.
It is all about the culture, a place easy to connect with Rob and other patrons; really a second home where you can always feel welcomed.
All of my friends I have brought in are amazed at how Rob is intuitive in choosing new cocktails or wine after just a few questions.
Perfect place? That is my ranking but know that Rob is always interested in feedback to make this a business that will be around for the next 20 years.
Interesting concept, that is if you just stepped off the 5:10 from GC and you already miss  Mercer St.  But, being a total cocktail idiot, it was  kinda cool that they do seem to know their spirits here.  Tiny and uninviting space, tho.
That said, it was  fun diversion for my first-ever Manhattan. Besides,  I'd rather imbibe to hit Main St. for my moment of sophistication than schlep to midtown anyway.
Dropped by Luxe Wednesday after a long and unexplained absence, and was relieved to find everything just about as I'd left it on election night, with a few nice additions. Â Robert has supplemented the menu of fine artisanal cheeses and charcuterie with what I like to think of as a "Dollar Value Meal" menu of sandwiches. Â Nothing actually costs just a dollar. Â But there is a nice grilled cheese (don't think American on Wonder Bread) and barbecue pork sliders for those who would like something substantial with which to quaff their Barbera. Â
Speaking of which, when I arrived with my date, Robert was sampling a 2008 Barbera which, like a rank amateur, I mistakenly identified as a 3.0 liter Jeroboam when in fact it was a 2.25 liter Marie Jeanne. Â Why are all large wine bottles named after great figures in Old Testament history except for the three bottle Marie Jeanne? Â Anybody?
My date ordered a fancy bourbon cocktail made with Willett and house made grenadine, which he pronounced superb. Â I asked for a gin martini with sweet vermouth and olives. Â I was hoping to throw Robert off kilter with the sweet vermouth request (which 99% of martini drinkers, who are mostly thinly veiled straight up vodka drinkers, consider an abomination to the cause of rapid intoxication). Â But Robert executed the request without a smirk, hoisting the shaker like Ricky Ricardo pounding out Cuban Pete on maracas. Â
As we settled in with our drinks, a man in black entered carrying a guitar. He sat on a small stool, his face obscured by the pick up mic. Â But when he began to play, I recognized the voice and the face as that of Steve Ferentzy, lately of Third Rail (catch them if you can. Â they're an amazing acoustic cover band). Â
Focused as I was on my punch bowl full of gin, I heard the murmur of my date uncharacteristically singing along with Steve. Â "The jean genie lives on his back...." Â Could it possibly be? Â "Hey, there," I called out to the singer when he was through, "did you just do an acoustic cover to a David Bowie song about a transvestite?" Â "Yes," Steve replied, "and that's not the only transvestite cover I play." Â I met her in a club down in old Soho where you drink champagne and it tastes just like cherry cola.....L O L A Lola! Â This was something I'd never experienced in all my days of acoustic guitar nights at the Wine & Cheese room in college. Â Subversive rock songs masquerading as tame acoustic covers. Â But there is nothing tame about Ferentzy's execution. Â He even makes the Eagles sound edgy. Â I sincerely believe that Steve Ferentzy could cover Sarah McLachlan's "In the Arms of the Angels" and no one would shed a tear for those poor little strays trapped in cages. Â And I mean this as the highest of praise.
Whatever else I said in the past about Luxe, well, I mean it. Â Go there. They have beer. Â The only thing missing, Robert if you're reading this, is nuts. Â I'd like to be able to have a bowl of nuts, preferably almonds for their cholesterol lowering effects, with my cocktail. Â I'm even willing to pay for good ones. Â

Just discovered this place and I'm already in love. Â The music is awesome, just the right mix of pop, EDM and some unexpected tunes. Â The best part about the music might be that it is loud enough to set the mood, while still being quiet enough that you never struggle to hear each other over the music. Â
The drinks are creative, reminiscent of PDT. Â Like everywhere else they have plenty of sweet drinks, but I especially love that they have three or four spicy cocktails on the menu. Â They have a great wine list too.
Food is limited to cheese and charcuterie. Â I haven't tried them yet, but they look and sound really good.
Luxe started out strong with a decent menu of classic cocktails and a few good originals. Execution was a little uneven, depending on the bartender, but generally everyone followed the recipes in a workmanlike way and made fine drinks. Recently, though, they have dramatically improved. As the staff and owner have gotten more experienced, the drinks are consistently good, and there are always a few new drinks they are working on.
Review Source:OK I cannot believe I am just now trying this place out but I'm so happy I did. I had looked it up here on Yelp. It looks so cool and cozy, and its in the best location (especially for holiday shopping, mental note). Its the perfect little spot to meet friends and now I can't wait to bring my husband on date night.
I went in for a quick drink with a friend and ended up having, in addition to THE smoothest chenin blanc, a meal of an exquisite triple creme, this fabulous goat cheese wrapped in some sort of a maple leaf (!) with melt in your mouth prosciutto and this unbelievable razor thin delectable salami (and I don't typically like salami - my friend ordered it). It was ALL so good. The owner was on hand, asked me what I like and made suggestions which were perfect. I can't wait to go back and try more of the menu. Btw, even the menu in this place is clever and chic. The bartender somehow appeared magically at all the right moments but was never intrusive - which I liked. And to top it all off, they had a kick ass playlist - total ambient vibe, I can't wait to go back. There's nothing like this place for miles. So happy to have found it!
Disclaimer: I have never written a restaurant review in my life so I hope this will be helpful to others - all I know is, you just need to try this place. Seriously. We loved it.
Really small and cozy place with a quiet atmosphere. Â Came here for cocktails a few weeks ago with a few friends. Â The waiter offered some great wine suggestions! Â Unfortunately, they were unable to make my chocolate martini because they did not have the liquer.
This place is very small, so not great for big groups. Â I also think they had some music on, but not loud enough.
I'm a cocktail fan so I was happy when I heard this place was in town. I had hopes and was not dissapointed.  Owners seem to really care about the details, good booze, well trained b-tender Will who was great. Really was eager for us to try the signature cocktails. We tried  the sidecars, old fashioneds and saugatuck smash....peppered with rejuvenator shots. All really good. Solid bar, cheese plate we had was just okay. I would have rated this higher if the there were more choices....seemed limited, for now. I think its only going to get better. Best of all this is not just a wine bar.  Nice mix of people from hipster Chef/Owner Michael from Bodega & Valencia to Will's mom!
I'll be back!
Modern atmosphere, lots of windows (good and bad as it's not an ideal view and adds to the cold feeling but at least it makes the space feel larger), hipster and young crowd for the most part but a wide range for a mid-week night, and a truly great selection of cheese, meat, and wines by the glass. Â Only downside is that I'm not sure service is fully worked out, a bit casual approach going on and not tending to the customer needs as closely as I think should but this is just me being picky, especially after only one visit so far. Â Oh, music was a tad loud too, took from casual conversation options.
Review Source:I thought I would be amazed simply by the fact that I could walk to this place from my apartment, but there was so much more to it than that. Â Being there twice in one week is testimony enough. Â The place is small, but the wall to wall windows make it both open and cozy at the same time. Â The owners are friendly and knowledgable, and constantly trying out new drinks. Â
While this is a wine bar by name, the cocktails are not something to be missed. Â With artisan cheese and meats making a forefront in the menu also, you're sure to stay for hours. Â Westport's night life finally has potential to be regained!
Somebody smack me in the face, because I hope I'm not dreaming about this place.
Oozing with a minimalist cool, calm, and collected vibe, Luxe Modern is a welcome addition to Westport's once lagging nightlife.
Bright marble white table tops and cool-toned seating swirl together to compliment the long and slightly narrow glossy bar. Â It's bottle illumination is awakening as you peer at the quality spirits offered in this truly charming establishment.
Music is contemporary and mellow, gently providing background for the conversing patrons. Candles add to the flair of relaxation that this place exudes.
Mmm and the cheese. The cheese, the cheese, the cheese.
The small things matter when choosing a regular place to enjoy, so here are my favorites:
* Purse hooks extend below the bar, catering to non-wristlet travelers
* It's a family run operation with strong yet laid back teamwork to offer caring service
* The owner, Robert Reilly of Redding, really took time to craft the menu. He hand selected over 40 whites and reds and worked for months choosing the final cocktails (hint: ask about the special Malbec)
* The cocktail menu is superb; New York attention to detail and flavor profiles will tantalize even the most picky drinker.
Favorites of the night:
Old Fashioned: wonderful aromatic bitters and smooth rye. Rye rye rye!
Little Big Apple: limited edition apple smoked triple cream brie paired well with the offering of apricots
I'll leave the rest up to you to discover. You won't be disappointed.
