Decent barbecue, decent price
I know we're all supposed to fawn over that wooden shack bbq run by some wizened old black guy somewhere way off the beaten path (turn left past the creek and get off the paved road, etc). Â But this is pretty good cue for a city based chain and I'm not afraid to say it.
I'm not the biggest fan of barbeque but I love Mark's. It's inexpensive and the food is pretty great. They have quite a few non-barbeque options. Plus, I love the outdoor seating at this location. I always get the burgoo; it's amazing.
I've never ordered anything I haven't enjoyed and I love going on Monday evening because you get free dessert! I would recommend the buttermilk crunch. It's absolutely amazing.
I also really like the honeywings and the grilled veggie salad.
I came here with my family last week for the first time. Â The service was great - our waiter was friendly and attentive without being a hoverer. Â The food was good and there were a variety of sauces. Â I had the brisket and it was a little too fatty for my liking and I don't like super-sweet cornbread, so I didn't care for that either. Â Make sure to save room for dessert because the buttermilk pie is very good. Â All in all, a great BBQ restaurant in Louisville.
