Late night on Friday (around 9:30), my best girl and I made our way to this Louisville favorite.  We called ahead to make sure we could still get paella.  We sat in the back, in a hidden patio I did not even know existed.  The shrimp scampi were delish, perfect in butter and garlic.  The bread was fresh and crusty.  The service was just right.  Greeted by Maggie (owner and Chef's wife) with a wave and a welcoming smile as we entered, and just enough attention at the table.  I always had what I wanted - utensils, enough water and wine, and our server even brought me back a water without ice when I responded that was what I would prefer.  It felt like a private meal, with a few smiles.  

The reason I felt compelled to review this is the paella.  The chef was serving lobster paella that night, with other fruits de mer as well.  The paella was absolutely divine and just what I needed to feed my soul after a tough week.  I cannot speak highly enough about this experience. Altogether, I felt like I had fallen out my front door and onto the street in Barcelona.  

Go visit this Louisville jewel, when your soul needs to be nourished by a meal prepared with heart, or just because it may not always be right outside our doors.

P.S. They will also prepare tidbits for takeout if you are sweet when you call, but this place is really one where you should have the entire experience.

Great food, good music, great environment to have a nice conversation. Broad variety of food and drinks. Great service. I recommend the montadito-1 and -2.
