After a night out downtown and hungry drunk, this is the place to be.  For 3.00, you get a huge slice of either pepperoni or cheese.  The thin crust is always baked to perfection with the right amount of cheese and sauce.  Depending on what time you are here, the line could be pretty long.

This is pretty good pizza. Depending on your BAC.
BAC above .15%= 5 star pizza
BAC below .08%= 3 star pizza
    Price: 4 star
This place gets packed after midnight.

I was amazed to read the reviews for Marquis and see that the only negative thing anyone could say was that it was a little greasy.  I see that as a positive thing with this style of pizza and finally went last night.  It's easily the best NY style pizza in Denver.  If you haven't been there yet, go now.

We popped in for a slice on the run.  Here's the skinny...

They were just opening and only had pepperoni available .  No prob.
    * Price/Value - 4 stars (a good-sized slice for $3)
    * Crust - 4 stars (tasty chewy texture)
    * Sauce - 4 stars (good balance of tangy & sweet)
    * Toppings - 2 stars (pepperoni & cheese were OK, but greasy)

    Overall - 3.5 stars
(the toppings made the slice just a bit too greasy for us, especially while on foot.)

Oh, and as Meredith G previously yelped a week ago, there were still no napkins dispensers to be found.  We had to ask, and then they handed us this gigantic handful, which were too many for two people to hold or let alone use.  Go figure?

Not bad slices for $3, but napkins were no where to be found and the pizza was dripping grease.

We stumbled out of the ball park, had a few final-finals at a local bar, and were desperate for a late night snack.
We found some giants fans with large slices of pizzas and pointed us in the direction of Marquis' - great tip. It hit the spot, and sold huge slices of great pizza for 3 bucks a piece. Even better that Wazee, the pizza place we were told we needed to stop at while in Denver - Marquis has a much better slice! Very close to NY style pizza slices!

Huge pizza slices, or do a make your own. Thin crust. Crispy. Delicious. Cheaper than others nearby.

They have pre-made huge slices which you can add toppings to. However, I ordered a 12" and something about the FRESH right out of the oven look. Yum! But if you don't want to wait, the slices are good too.

    Good greasy pizza. =)

Good pizza, and I like the fact that they have vegie and vegan choices.  Plus, the folks who work here are nice.  I'd give it four stars, but the place seems too hot in the summer to eat there, and I'm not a fan of the ambiance.  I'd order to take out.  It isn't as good as Enzo's End pizza, but pretty darned good!

The kickball team finally decided we should venture back to our official kickball team bar but knowing that there was no service or food there we need food and fast. No really, we were starving, double header, and two V's under the belt. Enter Marquis pizza. Now it was louder than sin in there at the moment b/c a live band was playing but we got a few very large pizzas order and apparently tripled that Wednesday's sales. Then when we stood outside it became like a beacon for everyone else to go there.

They wouldn't be disappointed! We got 4 of their large pizza and it feed 18 of us just fine, no complainers that there wasn't enough. Overall a pretty solid showing, good pizza, prices were reasonable and they don't skip out on toppings - b/c when I want a veggie party on my pizza, there better be one, and I'm proud to report it partied on.

I have found my favorite pizza joint in Denver!  I first tried this pizza after a Yelp kickball game.  It was love at first bite.  I knew that I found my go-to NY style pizza place.  My husband and I have been several times since that night and have only been more impressed.

The pizza is always high quality and executed perfectly. The crust is wonderful and reminds me of the NY style pizza I would get in New York. The pizza is foldable without being too greasy. The sauce is excellently flavored with the right amount of scrumptious cheese.  We have also tried the shred sticks.  They are basically garlic knots.  They are pretty darn good.  They are loaded with garlic, butter, and parmesan cheese.  We typically eat these on the car ride home because we are fatties who lose all control when we get a whiff of the garlic butter.

Marquis is also open late and apparently is the place to go after a night of drinking.  People claim it is the "best drunk pizza" in town.  While this is true, I strongly recommend Marquis Pizza at any sobriety level.  It is awesome when you are sober, drunk, tipsy, whatever.  It is just awesome pizza.

I know this will probably hurt somebody's feelings, but The pizza in Denver ranges from terrible to I guess this won't make me throw up (Accept you walnut room and organic pizza company).  Thank you Marquis Pizza.  Thank you for realizing that Pizza can be straightforward AND awesome.  If you like delicious new york style pizza than eat here.  If you like soggy greasy cheese lumps, avoid, you have numerous other options throughout the city (or in the dumpsters).

    What I had?  Pepperoni pizza

Food review:  Oh my goodness, this pizza is tasty especially when you've been drinking quite a bit that night.  So, take this review with a grain of salt.  I only come here late at night when I am a little hammered but if you're in the same state, I definitely recommend this pizza.  Really thin pizza and simply tasty large pieces of pie.  Best "drunk" pizza in town!

    Service?  No complaints

Other thoughts:  You have to be mindful of timing with this place.  If it gets too close to closing this place easily gets a long line.  Everybody has the same idea.  :-)

I dont know what about this place is so good. When you see their pizza it looks bland and greasy, but the sauce and crust combine into this other wordly mix of tastebud salvation.

$3 for a giant slice of great pizza, this is the perfect drunk food snack. Its also usually not horribly busy so thats great. You can even hear some of the live (interesting) music going on in the connected Marquis Theatre while you wait, very nice! you can also order whole pies if you are really drunk and hungry :)

I really enjoyed every second of chewing my food at this joint.  I am a fan of New York/Boston North End style pizza, thin chewy crust but not super crispy like crackers.  Marquis Pizza does it well.  I know it's great food when it makes me smile just thinking about it.  I love that they have so many different options for toppings and I love that they're not dripping greasiness either, especially when I ordered the bacon as one of my toppings to go along with artichoke hearts.  The BF got Canadian bacon with tomatoes.  Both are super delicious... and my personal believe is that everything IS better with BACON!

The crust is a little on the crispier side but still chewy nonetheless.  The pizza went extremely well with the hot sauce they had there... not sure what exactly it was but it reminded me of Frank's Hot Sauce.  We didn't even get anything to drink, the dough of the pizza was so perfect... not drying at all.

The store is small, with 2 tables -- each with 2 high stools.  We were lucky that we got to eat it there fresh out of the oven.  It'll probably be just as good taken home but we couldn't wait!

Since you are on the slightly sketchier side of town, watch out for beggars.  They are open later on the weekends so watch out for drunk people... There were stories of drunk people just started peeing in the trash can inside the establishment while waiting for their pizza.

All in all, the pizza was one of the best pizzas I've had in Denver.  Since I'm mostly Asian food fan, impressing non-Asian food will definitely gain my business again in the near future!  Deliciousness!

After ten pm this is a great alternative for quick good food. We stopped by after an evening out. The pizza comes out quick, it is delicious ny style slice, and the after hours scene brings the extra entertainment. The price is just right and the staff super friendly...a definite late night stop

The. Ultimate. Drunk. Food. Ever. That could be the whole review but I will go ahead and give Marquis Pizza the decency of a legitimate review.
This place opens around 5:00PM every night and stays open until 3:00 in the morning and they serve New York style pizza by the slice to concert-goers or people drinking at the bars downtown. The price is extremely reasonable, 3 dollars for a huge fold-able, juicy, greasy New York style slice. Heavenly.
I have attended at least 50 concerts at the Marquis Theatre and honestly, one of my favorite things about that venue is the fact that they are connected with Marquis Pizza. I have been known to drink one too many tall cans of PBR, and have one too many shots of Jager at these shows at the Marquis, and when that happens the pizza slices of Marquis Pizza are always a life saver.
I will usually get one or two pepperoni slices, drench them in parmesan and crushed red pepper and then shove them in my mouth like the drunk animal I am. Let me tell you, there is nothing quite like Marquis Pizza when you are drunk and it is the perfect compliment to drinking and watching live music.
On a side note, I have had Marquis Pizza when I was sober and it simply wasn't as good. Was it a bad slice of pizza? Not by any means, it is a great slice of pizza, but strictly street style pizza slices. When you are drunk however, Marquis Pizza is amazing. If you have never seen a show at the Marquis Theatre, you still owe it to yourself to stop by Marquis Pizza if you are drinking at a bar nearby, this stuff is the best drunk food around.

For the record, I wasn't drunk. In fact, I was stone cold sober, and my stomach had been aggravated from 5 hours of non-stop roller coaster riding at Elitch Gardens.

Three words: bomb ass pizza! Crispy thin crust, zesty sauce, not too heavy on the cheese, slices as big as your head. I grew up eating amazing NY style pizza at least once a week, and this brought me straight back to childhood.

Hands down, the best NY style pizza I've found in Denver so far.

The next time I'm in lodo and have a late night food craving, I'm heading here.

    Inebriated?
In need of a quick greasy calorie source, especially a slice of pizza?
Don't particular care about the taste, source or ambience?
    Cheap to boot?

    You've hit the right place.

Come in, order, chat to the wide-eyed obviously high za tosser, pay, sit on one of the two high tops available for your dining pleasure, grab a red bull and life's good. Very Good in-fact.

    Was it good? Yes.
Will I be back? Maybe, but I won't be going here sober.

I just had to try this place and I am glad I did.

Sometimes great food can be found in the most unlikely of places... such as the lobby of a music venue.  Marquis pizza is definitely some of the best in Denver, if not the best NYC style.  $3 seems like a lot for a slice of cheese, but the slices are HUGE.  Fold 'em in half, and you have a big pizza sandwich.  They also have bottles of delicious hot sauce, because they understand that hot sauce slathered pizza is the best.

I usually only eat here after I've overindulged in alcohol, but it's worth stopping by when you'll remember your meal, too.

Yup.  The best, closest pizza in Denver... perhaps Colorado.  NY style.  Large slice.

    yum.

Would you like a side of repressed high school memories of "hardcore/screamo" bands (a genre that should have burned out five years ago, but is still alive and well at Marquis Theater) with your pizza?

You've come to the right place!  And the guys here actually make super tasty pizza by the slice, especially if you get a fresh one.  Just enough grease, not too much cheese, and a really zingy sauce makes this a go-to post-bar pizza joint that holds its own against the rest of the by-the-slice places in town.

This pizza is so good that'll make you slip up on Weight Watchers, especially if it's your birthday (I saw this happen to a co-worker....post-bar crawl on her birthday...when she went for her third slice, I told her I thought she had enough and it was time to go home).

Also, you can catch up on the bands that are in that weekly Soda Jerk Presents upcoming shows listing that you never read, but were into when you were 19.  All ages, X's across your hands, coca-cola from the bar...don't act like you don't remember what I'm talking about.

There are also a few tables outside to enjoy your pizza.  Not the greatest ambience, but at least it's extra seating when it's warm.

I promised myself I'd come back to the Marquis not drunk and have a slice or two of pizza.

    I kept my promise.

I was going to the Volbeat show and the opening band was terrible.  I think my ears were bleeding.

So to allow my delicate ears to heal my bf, friends, and me ordered a whole pizza.  Half pepperoni and half cheese.

My quarter was cheese and much to my delight - the Marquis pizza was just as good sober as it was drunk!

If, or maybe rather when, I go back to another concert I'll go on an empty stomach just to have a reason to eat a Marquis slice!

How have I not reviewed Marquis before?  It was a late-night ritual for me to get a nice, huge, cheesy hot slice from the window after going out.  Hot cheese, tasty sauce, crispy thin crust- just how I like it.  The pizza itself is in reality probably 3 stars, but they get one more for being the tastiest place to go for a late night snack (and being a probably safer option than the street burritos).  Bonus points for the staff being nice to loads of hungry drunk people after the bars close down!

Yay Marquis for having Daiya: vegan, soy-free, gluten-free, (dairy-free) cheese! I do love this cheese, but having a pizza oven really changes it into something miraculous. Their pizzas are huge. They deliver. If you pick up, you can pull into their parking lot and they will bring the pie out to you. Sweet!

So i wasnt drunk when i tried the pizza. The slice was huge. Piping hot and greasy ohh i loved it. The Crust was chewy not tough. The Good kind of chewy. Sucks that i had to wait til 5pm for them to open but it was well worth the wait. I didnt give them 5 stars because there was a wait for cheese pizza. I tried the pepperoni. Drunk or not go here for a huge slice. YUM

Let me just say one thing... late night.

I have a feeling that the pizza is probably pretty good here during the day, as it seemed to have good flavor.  At 1am (last night - see review on Milk... :), it was pretty ok.  It was hot.  It was quick.  It was reheated.  Yeah - the crust was kind of... bullet-proof.

But, it saved me a brutal hangover this morning, so I'm indebted to these guys, and will give them another chance in the light of day.  I think this is also a surefire winner for delivery.

I'll update the next time I check it out...

The best after hours pizza in Denver,  so many people go to Two Fisted Marios and wait for 45 to get a slice of pizza which don't her ne wrong is good pizza but Marquis pizza is better,  equally priced and super fast even at 2am you wont wait more then 5 or 10 minutes for your drunken meal. Tried it sober a few times and was still very impressed

This is awesome pizza for the price, $3 for a huge, HOT, thin, crispy NY style slice. Not the greasy, heavy faux "NY" junk you'll find elsewhere. I prefer plain old cheese topped with extra parm and crushed red pepper. My friends and I all burned the roofs of our mouths off as we devoured our pizza despite warnings from staff as well as us watching them come directly out of a burning hot oven. They just looked so tasty. I'm disappointed I didn't know about this place last year when I went to the Ginn Mill next door for cruiser rides on Wednesdays, it so would have hit the drunken spot.

The pizza is great after visiting the bars across and down the street. Not too pricey and you can order it by the slice. The guys working the kitchen were all friendly and helped me out. I showed up with a buddy right as they were closing. There weren't enough slices already made to go around (we were supposed to be bringing some back for other friends) and the guy completely offered to make another one even though it was around closing time. Superb service. The flavor is a bit different than other pizza I'm used to eating, and the sauce isn't very strong. That being said the cheese was delicious.

This place has got unusual hours since they're attached to the Marquis Theater. The other thing is they've got a GIANT banner on the side of the building facing the street. It has their name and their website (<a href="/redir?url=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.marquispizza.com&s=05cad4eeb04213733dd669e93cb3da3cfbb3f566ac91285e4dae6d34a7ddcbc5" target="_blank" rel="nofollow">http://www.marquispizza.…</a>) on it... TOO BAD THE WEBSITE DOESN'T EXIST. I wonder how many people have told them? I'm planning on going in sometime and ordering an entire pie.
