Ok, I have eaten at Max & Ermas at Crestview Hills a few times, and usually the food is good, and the service is too.  On this Wednesday night, I was excited to try their Brat Burger on a Pretzel bun.  When my burger was served, it wasn't on a pretzel bun, and after the first bite, the brat was pink in the middle.  I am not sure what @$$ hat they had working in the kitchen, but I could have gotten sick had I eaten too much of the burger.  The manager gave us a bunch of gift cards to make up for the poor experience, and typically I wouldn't mention this.  The bottom line is this.  I will go back to Max & Ermas but you have been warned, if you order the Brat Burger. Cut it in half and make sure it is properly cooked.  You might end up with Trichinosis if you don't.

I enjoy coming to Max & Ermas. It is simple food & not too pricey. It is typically American Fare so nothing here is super unique, but some dishes have an interesting flare. I normally range from getting any one of the awesome salads, the burgers or chicken dishes. I think my favorite items are the fresh baked cookies or the chocolate cake. Both are very good and enough to share but only if you feel like it :)

I like Max and Ermas, but I was very disappointed when I arrived with a small party (5) one Sunday afternoon, hoping to
grab a quick lunch. They said it would be less than 10 minutes until they had a table, but we were still waiting after approxately 20! Several parties who arrived after us were seated before us , and when I walked through the restaurant to the restroom I was disappointed to see many tables available. We had simply been ignored or overlooked. It's not bad American fare, but this particular restaurant doesn't seem to be run very well!

This place isn't exactly a destination for me, but I've ended up here a few times over the years for various reasons. The best options have been simple foods like the burgers and chicken fingers--both of these are actually pretty good.

On my most recent visit, I tried the chicken pot pie, which was a plate of chicken and veg in a creamy sauce with a square of puff pastry sitting in the middle. There was also a small mound of mashed potatoes underneath which was completely superfluous. I definitely prefer more of a true "pie" style with crust across the top, but it wasn't bad.

Service is acceptable. The ambiance is similar to other American chain restaurants, although the pop music can get a little loud for conversation.

I guess since I'm the duchess here, I should write a review.
I love this place for sentimental reasons. It's where I had my first date with That Boy. We continue to go back because we know we both can find something to eat there.
They have free cookies on Wednesdays too. Which is always nice. If it's free, it's for me.
The service usually isn't great, and if they ask if you want to sit in the bar, don't. You will wait forever for your food and never get drink refills. You can get 1/2 priced apps during happy hour if you sit there, but you have to decide whether it's worth it or not.
The food is usually pretty good. Nothing spectacular or gourmet. But it's usually cooked well, mostly flavorful and the portion sizes are filling.
My go-to meal is a Erma sized burger with blue cheese, no bun and a side salad. It never lets me down.  For those not watching carbs, I also suggest  the soft pretzels .

To sum it up. This is a good place to go if you're having one of those "I don't know what to eat" nights. It's not going to blow your mind, but you probably wont leave hungry or upset.

Again one of those places where I feel my $$ could have been spent somewhere else and I would have enjoyed it more. Menu = burgers , soups, salads and sandwiches. I had eaten here once for lunch years ago and decided I would give it a shot with my family for dinner. I had the patty melt with fries, wife had the chicken salad sandwich and soup. I don't think I was that impressed a few years ago and wasn't really this time either.

This was my first time here, so I went with a safe choice of a cheeseburger combo. It came with a cup of soup, a cheeseburger, fries, and a hot cookie for 7.99. Great Deal!

The cheeseburger wasn't anything amazing, but it was good and really big thus very filling. It was also really juicy. They do have a ton of different kinds of burgers to choose from and next time I go I'm going to choose something different so I may need to update my review.

Other than that the tortilla soup was really good, the fries were okay, and the cookie was amazing. It tasted really fresh and it was just the right texture, soft but not falling apart and messy.

They have lots of options. The tortilla soup could have been substituted out for the soup of the day, which was potato with bacon, there were a couple of different options with cookies (I just chose the chocolate chip), and the Cheeseburger is served plain with the topping on the side so you can add whatever you want (lettuce, tomato, onions, pickles, mayo, mustard, ketchup.)

The waitress was really friendly and attentive. Overall I was really impressed with my first visit and I look forward to going back!

I've never had a bad experience at Max and Erma's in Crestview Hills.  This one is no exception.  The service was good and the food was great.
