is a good place with nice delivery

I think this place has great value. It's reasonably priced, it's BYOB, so it's nice for big groups and special events. You can bring whatever you want to drink! Added bonus: if you're stuck on Lake Shore Drive, it's located close by so you can easily make a quick deviation as traffic subsides to stop by on your way. Staff is attentive, and the food is good. It's pretty consistent, every time I go. And did I mention, BYOB? The owners helped us pick dishes we normally would never have tried, since we're not that adventurous. I love the onion cakes! Try them. Overall, the experience of trying new dishes was great.
Go for the food, bring a bottle of wine (or beer) and enjoy a delicious, reasonable meal.
I understand they deliver locally also!

Mei Shung is my second favorite Chinese place in the city after Thai Thank You.

I have three core favorites i always order from any Chinese delivery place I order from- sesame chicken, fried rice and crab rangoon. From them, I also offer bubble tea and I've gotta say it's delicious. The sesame chicken is really the star for me here, because it's always so crisp and the sauce is sweet and very flavorful. I'm iffy on their crab rangoon because sometimes it has far too much celery for me, but other's it's okay.

I've requested through Grubhub in the past to get fried rice instead of regular. When I ate in the restaurant itself they substituted for a fee and sometimes they honor my request through the comment box but more often than not they've ignored it. it's somewhat frustrating when you say you're willing to pay a fee and it doesn't happen and there's been incidences where they've called and given me various prices for what the cost to substitute is. There's also been a couple of times they've done it for free and not mentioned it.

The sesame chicken is pretty good so I'll probably be ordering again in the future.

The BEST "American" Chinese food in Chicago.

The orange chicken, beef fried rice and sizzling rice soup are staples of my diet. This place is GREAT!

BYOB.

To try a new Chinese restaurant, I make judgement by ordering Kung Pao Shrimp and Hot and sour soup. So I did. I really liked their Kun Pao Shrimp. I would like to go back to try different dishes.

I am neither here nor there about this place. I have decided that nothing on the menu (that I have tried) has that extra something, nor does anything on the menu taste like absolute dirt. So this place is the kind of place that only has 17 pieces of flare. It does the job, but not so well that I remember to come back here without outside intervention.

It's the only place that considers itself part-Taiwanese so I went there to try some Taiwanese food since it was a Taiwanese movie night at the Cultural Center. Well, I tried the Taiwanese fried rice noodle with beef as my choice of meat.
Loved it!
Those little thin noodles were delicious and so was the beef. The vegetables added to the experience. They must have used some good seasoning
I give it 4, not 5 stars because I don't think a lot of people go there. There was one Jewish couple and a small party of older friends there and then there was me and my mom so it was a big experience. I like a place with a lot of people. It adds to the experience. Plus, me and my mom were the youngest ones there so it probably isn't a hangout place for us younguns. It's more for older people.
The place was very neat and clean though, but since there wasn't a lot of people, they had time to clean it so...

We've only recently come back to Mei Shung after discovering that they have a Taiwanese menu. I don't know if ten years ago, they simply kept that menu separate and we didn't ask for it or it simply didn't exist.

When we discovered that the menu was there on the back cover, all in Chinese - we asked our server to lend us a hand. We did order the o-a-chian (oyster omelet) but it wasn't the taste I was used to - I can't say that others won't like it, it's just different from others I've had (again not that I'm an expert). A great recommended dish was the fish fillet topped with roasted soybeans - the soybeans become a rich savory crunchy topping that contrasts the lightness of the fish.

We did order a tofu and a beef dish, but they neither stood out or bombed.

The menu is quite extensive, and the owner has mentioned wanting to translate it eventually. A few Yelpers here have already mentioned some of the items on it. The owner said that she and her servers are happy to help translate in the meanwhile and help in any way. Some of the dishes are found on Mei Shung's English to-go and online menu.

In the meanwhile, I am working on a translation of the Taiwanese menu through a thread at LTHforum: http://www.lthforum.com/… with photos of the Taiwanese menu too.

So with the promise of the menu to be explored, Mei Shung gets four stars.

Even If you are not exactly sure what you want for your lunch/dinner, you can find something in your mood for it, and the food is delightful. As Chinese restaurant, this restaurant has variety of Chinese food and even you can find more dishes categorized Taiwanese. Also they had menu for the group, which is also quite reasonable.

For the food, I found they have amazing Spring roll. If you try any kind of Dumpling, you never regret your choice. Orange chicken and Sesame chicken are nicely breaded and so tasty. and my favorite is Taiwanese Fried Rice Noodle, which is just yum!!
Other beef and Duck dishes also looked so delicious. ( well, I just looked them on other tables.)

The service is really quick and we didn't wait so long before served when visited the restaurant for lunch.

I will definitely recommend this restaurant for any dine out occasions.

I'm not sure what Mei Shung means, but I have a feeling it might be Mandarin for "delicious." OK, that's a complete fabrication, but the food really is awesome.
I've always felt that you can tell a lot about a restaurant by the quality of their chicken, and this place is definitely top-notch. Their vegetables are always super fresh and tasty, too. Oh, and their Mu Shu thingies are ridiculous!
Yummah!

My family heard about this place so we decided to try it out. As soon as we get in, my mom busts out the Chinese and makes friendly with the owner. She orders everything with her from the secret menu on the back written only in Chinese... so I have no idea how I would ever order it myself... Luckily the bill is in English so I hope they understand it if I use the same names.

This is for my own reference so I can order this later! But if you'd like to try anything (especially if you're Taiwanese who failed at speaking Chinese ::point to myself::), feel free to use this guide as well.

Fortune Dumplings are those upside down bowl shaped things filled with bamboo and meat. It sits in a puddle of sauce (usually red but this one was brown). I thought it was ok.

Oyster Dumplings - I swear she said she didn't have them today but still let us order? lol. No matter. It came out so we tried it. It was pretty good but I'm not used to eating it with so much basil flavoring. I would like it a lot if not for that.

Don Po Pork & Bun (plus extra Gwa Bao) - It wasn't bad at all. Not the best I had but certainly the best I've had around here (not including my mom making it). The pork looks kind of dry but was not at all!

Spicy Salt Basil Chicken - like Chinese chicken poppers. So delicious! I don't know how to explain the "Chinese-style fried chicken". It just tastes different to me.

Taiwan Homestyle Bean Curd - the bf loved this one. It's like the fried bean curd soaked in a sweet/soy sauce... with other stuff... like veggies... or something.

Fish Fillet with Crispy Soy Be(cut off) - Delicious white fish topped with this brown crispy stuff. My sister loves this but I think its ok.

Taiwanese Sausage - is good, nothing spectacular

Taiwanese Fried Rice Noodle - verrry yum. I had it as leftovers and still yummm.

(We've also tried the soy pork rice, pork fish-ball noodle soup, five intestine in hot pot, stir fried peapod leaf) Yes I know. We're fatties.

All in all, I was happy (+1 star), my entire family was pretty happy (+1 star), even my mom(+1 star)! Taiwan mom stamp of approval! Wasn't expecting that. It's nothing out of this world but it's the best Taiwanese food I've found around here(+1 star). And it's BYOB (+1 star).

I am so happy my roommate and I found this place. It is the closest thing we can get to her taiwanese parent's cooking. The pork-fish ball soup is so good and the beef noodle soup is just like the one I had in Taiwan. I am even happy with their chinese selection, it's not greasy like the chinese take around the area and it taste just as good as chinatown. The best part is that they delivery to home.

It is surprising that Chicago land does not have Taiwanese food options. We came for some fatty pork with pickled vegetables and beef noodle soup. Both were ok, need more seasoning and more cooking time. The beef in the soup was not melt in your mouth smooth, nor was the soup spicy enough.

So far this is the only one restaurant I know providing Taiwanese food in Chicago. Since I'm from Taiwan, me and my friends most fishes we ordered are Taiwanese unique food.
Here are what we had:
1. Oyster Omelette - It is good but not like a real oyster omelette. I guess it is because of the ingredients and the sauce.
2. Gua Bao - a.k.a. Chinese hamburger. It is a bun with stew pork and some spice. Not bad, but the price is a little expensive.
3. Eggplant with Asian Basel - Great, and it is so delicious with steamed rice.
4. Three glasses chicken - They cooked the chicken with ginger, rice wine, garlic and other spice, I "strongly" recommend this one.

5. Pork intestine - They cooked this dish with tofu, and some spice. It is a little bit spicy. I know most Americans think eating intestine is weired. But it is just like pork, if you don't know it is intestine. I think this dish is average.

Overall, I think it is a good restaurant for some real Taiwanese food. And it is good for large groups.

This was one of my catch-up restaurants...the group I belong to has eaten here, but that was before I joined. I wanted to check it out and see what I missed.

I was seated right away, and given the menu. Moments later I was brought tea and water. The waitress approached and asked if I was ready to order. I asked if the chicken and broccoli was prepared in brown sauce. She said it wasn't, but that they would do it that way for me. That's very nice, and I've never been offered the option in any other restaurant before.

Not even 10 minutes later, my meal was brought out. Any time my water was less than half full, someone came to refill it...without that creepy feeling that they are all lined up at the back of the restaurant watching.

Each time I looked up or looked around, either my waitress or another member of the wait staff asked if everything was to my liking, or if I needed anything else. It was a VERY enjoyable meal, and extremely reasonably priced as well. This is a place I would definitely return to.

This place is owned by a Taiwanese family, and they specialize in Taiwanese food. So Yelp should update (or allow members to update) the category to include Taiwanese.

Service is friendly. Decor is functional and nondescript. I wouldn't exactly call it hole-in-a-wall because it's clean and comfortable, but it's not a place you go for ambiance. You go for the food.

They have two menus. One bilingual that includes all your usual Americanized Chinese food. Menu #2 is in Chinese only - this contains Taiwanese-style Chinese and Taiwanese dishes / street food. I can't speak to the American menu, as I only ordered from Menu #2.

The Taiwanese pork meat-sauce over rice is really good - real cuts of pork-belly instead of the wussy ground-pork version at some places - topped with the requisite takuan (Japanese/Taiwanese style pickled daikon). The meat dumpling (Bma Wan), is of a Southern Taiwanese variety - different from what I'm used to, but still good. The oyster omelet in a pancake shape with crispy edge and contained pea sprouts and basil rather than tong-hao - not the traditional way - but the taste was delicious. The owner said that since this dish is low-traffic, she has to use ingredients that can be used in other dishes in order to keep everything fresh. I really appreciate how much she cares about the freshness of ingredients.

I wonder if the Taiwanese dishes will enjoy more popularity if the owner includes them on the English menu. But then I looked around, and it seemed like I was the only customer who knew that Taiwanese is not Thai and Mandarin is a Chinese dialect not a style of cooking. I guess I can't really fault the owner - they are in the business of feeding people what they want, not educating people.

Still, I hope things will change as people become more aware of the nuances of different Asian cuisines. Meanwhile, I will be back for their good selection of Taiwanese dishes.

Awesome Place to eat!! We go here to celebrate different parts of our lives, eg. Anniversaries, New Years, Birthdays, etc. Never had a problem with the staff being rude. You have to be nice to people for them to be nice to you. If you come in with a scowl on your face, what type of service do you expect? We are always greeted happily and serviced immediately. I am Mexican, and come here with mixed crowds so I do not believe in the racist comment made in another review.

Everyone should try the Taiwanese sausage! Very delicious, and comes with fresh garlic!! :-D

Also, lunch specials are cheap so go during the day! :-D

Happy Eating!!

Surprisingly pleased. Based on the yelp reviews I wasn't sure what to expect - lots of 1 start reviews and a lot of very positive reviews.

I was tempted based on Daisy Y's "hands down the best Taiwanese Beef Noodle soup I've had in Chicago" comment. Well, since off the top of my head I can't think of any other place in Chicago I've had decent Taiwanese Beef Noodle soup I guess I'd have to agree with Daisy, but it wasn't all that great. Daisy, you might want to try Katy's Dumpling out in Westmont. The beef here was tender and flavorful - perhaps a bit more tendon would have made me happy, but the noodles were nothing special, and the broth was not memorable. The dish wasn't even at all spicy. I would not go out of my way for this dish at this place, and I'm fanatical about beef noodle soup, well, when I'm in Taipei. Portion size was large for this soup dish. Easily a meal for one.

Ok - the rest of the food - very good! We ordered entirely off the menu back page which as many other reviewers have pointed out is all in Chinese. This is like a big alert saying "don't order any of the dishes in English on the menu since we have no idea how to make them but just make them to feed the white people" - We ordered the very popular green onion pancakes, a lamb dish, an eggplant dish, and a pork dish. All the dishes were tasty, portions were fine, they all came out at about the same time, etc.

Service - we were greeted as soon as we came in and service was prompt and friendly during the entire meal. So maybe it helps to be Chinese and to speak Mandarin and be able to read the Chinese menu. I do wish places like this would push their customers to order the dishes they know how to make and not the standard amercanized crap that too many people order at chinese restaurants.

Oh - we have a little toddler and the high chair was clean and the straps worked and were not broken. Thumbs up.

This is a good find - would never have stopped by here without yelp. so, thank you yelp!

Had a bad day yesterday. Actually a bad few months. SOOO I decided that ordering Peking Duck delivery would be a stupid but cool treat for myself.

I am now currently ill. I have lots of leftovers, and I plan to eat them. Yes, I will perpetuate my stupidity (I have A LOT of left overs and I spent too much not to eat them). If my sickness gets worse, I will conclude that it was Mei Shung. If not, then, well, you get the picture. Also, I will return to this review and change the star score accordingly.

Update (7-19-10): Yup. I am going ahead and blaming Mei-Shung.

I just placed our weekly delivery order using meishungtogo online and anticipate another excellent meal from our favorite go-to northside Chinese restaurant. Whether eating at home or dining at the restaurant we can expect friendly assistance, delicious food and genuine pleasure. We have been consistent customers of Mei Shung for more than five years and absolutely enjoy ever facet of this family-owned restaurant. The egg drop soup is great, the garlic shrimp and mongolian beef are delicious and I love the house combo friend rice. Top notch and highly recommended!

So our family went here on Christmas Eve for the second year in a row. we were a large group of 10 or so. Next to us was an even larger group who were also there last Christmas Eve and remembered us!

I read some recent reviews that were less than flattering, saying Mei-Shung has gone down hill over the past year. Having been here only twice, one year apart, I wanted to say I haven't noticed any slide. The food was awesome. Its BYO, and the service was friendly and very attentive.

Being in a large group we didn't stray too far, but the Hot and Sour soup was delicious, and so was the Egg Drop soup. Mongolian Beef and Crispy Duck were delicious too. And the appetizers: Onion cake, pot stickers and Chicken satay were quite enjoyable too.

I would recommend this for a casual dinner or a celebration with a large group. Parking stinks, but hey, it's Chicago!

This place should be called MEH SHUNG...

Now that Panda Panda (across the street) is shuttered, I've gone back to Mei Shung.

It is, in a word, disappointing.

My most recent take-out order will probably be my last.

We ordered one of the dinner specials for two. It included soup, egg rolls, rice and two entrees. It seems like a good value in theory, but in reality - not so much.

The hot sour soup was neither hot (spice or temperature-wise) nor sour. It was thick, slightly congealed and tasteless - BLAH!

The egg rolls were small, cold and greasy.

I believe the two entrees were cashew chicken and Mongolian beef. Truly, both were so unremarkable that I can't really much about them except that one dish had chicken and the other had beef in it. The beef was the better of the two, but that's not saying much. Both were edible, but completely lackluster. I had asked that they go easy on the oil, but they didn't. Both dishes were extremely oily to boot.

From earlier reviews, it seems that this place used to be pretty good. I can only surmise that things have gone down hill considerably.

Oh Panda Panda....I wish you would come back to us. There are no Chinese joints in the immediate 'hood that can measure up.

This place has really hit the skids. It used to be spoken of in hushed tones . . . "ohhhh, you live up near Mei Shung! I love that place!" Well, so did I, years ago. They seem to have stopped trying, 'cos what we had last night was really lackluster.

Sizzling Shrimp and Rice was like "water soup", VERY bland, and was not enough for two, as billed. The pork chop suey (delicious at Panda Panda) was bland and . . . just not delicious.

Panda Panda across the street is WAY better for cheap Chinese. Or yeah, Sun Wah kicks Mei Shung's bland ass all around the block. Head south 4-5 blocks for MUCH better food.

Cold, damp Sunday evening. Lazy. Lackluster, too unmotivated to cook dinner, and not looking particularly forward to changing out of my weekend slob clothes to wear the work-week Mr. Respectability uniform. A long way of saying: order Chinese!

Mei Shung. Yuck. The sizziling shrimp soup portion was barely enough for two people; they shouldn't say it is, because it is enough only if you are okay with a few ounces when sharing with a dining partner. The pork chop suey was bland and somewhat skimpy, too.

But, I did salvage the meal, and I leave you with this solution if you must try Mei Shung:

Eat at Sun-Wah two nights before; order any one of their small or medium portions of hot and sour or other soup which they say feeds two but feeds four people, easily. Don't finish it all; bring the rest home in a soup doggy bag, and refridgerate.

Then, when you order from Mei Shung, take the rice out of the container, and mix it with the re-heated Sun-Wah soup. That's a good dinner. Discard the rest from Mei Shung.

Wow - what a build-up then what a disappointment.

I had a voice lesson and my voice teacher loves this place. He told me I needed to order from here when I told him I normally order from Panda Panda.

The food is ok - not bad but nothing that would make me seek this place out again. The worst part was RUDE SERVICE not only over the telephone .. .but from the delivery driver.

I really do not feel I need to reward that. Also, no utensils especially chopsticks.

A-OK is exactly how I'd describe Mei-Shung. It is good for what it is - satisfying your craving for classic Americanized Chinese fare. A friend recommended it to us, so one warm Saturday evening we strolled over to check it out.

The decor is exactly what you'd expect for a somewhat "hole in the wall" Chinese joint such as this. Tacky, a bit worn, and yet strangely comforting. The wait staff is incredibly friendly and we enjoyed our experience. It was a bit hot in the restaurant when we walked in, so I asked that the a/c be turned up and they kindly obliged.

Onto the food. It's kind of difficult to find a good Chinese place like this in the city these days - most are either a bit scary and shady looking or very chain-esque, such as Joy Yee's. Mei-Shung is neither scary nor chain-y, and their food is up to par.

We started with the crab rangoons, which were very good and came with a delicious sweet and sour sauce. For entrees we had the Crispy Duck and the Mu Shu Pork, both of which came with a wonderful plum sauce. The duck was cooked really well, and the skin was aptly crispy and crunchy and flavorful.

If you're looking for some classic American-ized Chinese food, this place is for you. I will definitely be back when the craving strikes - Reasonable prices for the amount of food that you get - and byob. Very large potions - plan to share or take home leftovers. And they deliver!

Decided at the last minute to stop in here for New Year's Eve dinner. A few couples, one family, and a group of eight were also dining in, and there was a steady carryout business (which did not interfere with those seated, as in many other places).

Meter parking or sidestreet parking. No nightmarish lighting. Tidy layout of tables, with white paper on each. Can seat individuals up to large groups. Typical decor.

Service was pleasant and quick. SnS shrimp was excellent and of large portion, with chunks of peppers, tomatoes, and pineapple. Cashew chicken contained an extraordinary amount of cashews and was not overburdened with sauce. Veggie eggrolls were tasty, light, and crispy. Enough left over to take home.

Hot tea in a pot was served upon being seated, along with glasses of water, so other drinks were not necessary. (Bring your own wine.)

Will return. One tip: If it's cold outside, sit away from the door. The wind-break door needs to be re-examined for its usefulness.

I go here a lot. My favorites are chicken with broccoli (served in a white sauce, which is hard to come by in a lot of restaurants) and curry chicken (served with lots of onions). The crab rangoon is sort of sweet, and very good when fresh, and the won ton skin on the potstickers is thicker than at most places but very good. You can get big bowls of soup for a pretty decent price, and with an appetizer it makes a great meal. I've had the egg drop and won ton soups (the won tons are folded funny though, so you usually get a bigger bite of won ton than you expected). They also close at 10 on weekdays and 11 on weekends, which is great for those who like to eat late (they're closed Mondays).

One important note: the service is terrible. Well, let me clarify: the servers are not inattentive, but they don't do a great job at anticipating your wants or needs. And they're certainly not friendly. They seem more content to focus on their product, and not on the way it's presented.

I went here about a week or so back with 5 others. Its not the type of place that I'd return to for a sit down meal, but I would order take-away or delivery from Mei-Shung. Overall the food was pretty good. We ordered family style so we were able to get a broad sampling. The standouts were the Mongolian beef and some chicken/greanbean dish. Both tasted really fresh and had a balance of spicy/sweet. The rest of the dishes were ok, but definitely not great. To be honest besides those two I don't even remember what the other main courses were. I was not a fan of the pot stickers. To much meat (thats what she said! [ok, c'mon I couldn't pass it up]) .

On a side note can you do brackets w/in parenthesis? I mean I know you do in math, but what about prose???

Back to the Pot stickers. It was more of a pig in a blanket than a pot sticker and the pork overwhelmed all of the other flavors there. The fact that its BYOB though is great, and the price was extremely cheap. For 6 people total bill with tip came out of like 110 bucks.

I wanted to try this restaurant to see if they had authentic Taiwanese food. When we walked in, the people were speaking to us in Chinese. (Good sign) Since we wanted to eat the authentic stuff, we had to order off the Taiwanese menu. Unfortunately, I cannot read most of the Chinese characters. So I asked the lady who was either the owner or the manager if she had an English version. She said she didn't but then proceeded to translate the menu for us! She was going down the menu, item by item. How nice is that? I felt bad when she got halfway through and just asked her to recommend some dishes for us.

We ordered the green onion pancake for an appetizer. This has always been one of my favorite dishes that my mom makes! Their version was a little thick to me, and I like mine a tad saltier. So, it was just OK. And we also ordered something called a pork ball. (I don't know what they actually call it in English, but every time I go to Taiwan I try to get it.) It is a glutenous rice ball that is stuffed with pork and covered in a sauce. I am not explaining it well, but it is good. The lady made sure that we ate it with the sauce. That was key b/c the sauce was really good, with soy sauce, garlic and maybe a hint of spice.

For the entrees, we did it family style... we got crispy duck, taiwanese steak w/bamboo shoots, soft shell crab, and pea sprouts for our veggie dish. Let me tell you, that was a lot of food! It was all quite tasty, with the crab dish being my favorite!

And for all that food, for a party of four it only came to $80, including tax and tip! What a deal! The service was good and the decor/environment was just typical of what a Chinese restaurant is.

The only reason I gave it 4 stars is b/c when I am eating Taiwanese food, I can only compare to my mom's cooking and what I get to eat in Taiwan, and those have to be the 5 star ones!

This is a totally passable Chinese/Taiwanese place. I've eaten in a few times and service is pretty bad - inattentive at times and weirdly over attentive at others. However, they do always manage to accommodate our largeish group. Prices are standard to a bit high for this type of food. I've also gotten delivery - again, standard. Shows up pretty quickly and warm.

Two things that are awesome and not standard: chicken and yams. Amazing. You must order this. And chocolate fortune cookies. I also think this place is BYOB, and that's pretty cool.

I love this place. It is quiet, and kind of out of the way. Clean tables with white paper tops, a hand made flower in a vase on each table.

The food is consistantly reliable, and filling. I like eating there better than getting it for carry out - though I must say that I'd eat it whenever I can.

They make seriously good Onion Cakes, and the menu is varied. Everyone can eat there. It is BYOB, which can make for a fun evening.

We've had birthday parties there, as well as casual lunches (the lunch menu is incredibally inexpensive), and quick "see ya later" dinners before all of our friends leave for the holidays.

The staff is very friendly, and I've never had problems getting street side parking.

I'd forgotten about this place! I used to live up on Bryn Mawr, between Clark and Broadway, and every so often we'd go here for dinner. The food is very "standard-issue" American Chinese food. You know, though, it's still so good. I think their portion sizes are smaller now than they used to be, and the prices are a bit higher. I still enjoyed the food. The service was sort of spotty, but not so much that I would dock the tip too much.

Overall, a nice little place to pick up some tasty Chinese food.

Went here last night for dinner with the girlfriend. Usually they have pretty good food and ok service. Last night the food was alright but not as good as it used to be. To top it off I found a rubberband in one of our dishes. We called the manager over who explained that it was used around the green onions and must have gotten there by mistake. She offered to have it cooked again but I declined.

Most places would take the meal off the ticket or at least apologize. Not at Mei Shung unfortunately.

Mei Shung used to be awesome but from now I will stick with Grand China Express on Thorndale. Their food is cheaper, tastier and rubberband free.

For the Edgewater area, I think this is probably the best choice for Chinese delivery. Now, it doesn't come even close to the quality of Chinese food as offered in Chinatown (duh), but it is one of the better Chinese restaurants, and god knows there are a ton of bad ones in Chicago.

The food tends to be a bit greasy, but it is still very tasty. My picks are the Beef Chow Fun (again, a bit on the greasy side but you can ask them to use little oil) and Kung Pao Beef or Chicken. I really like their fried rice, too. Also, the crab rangoons and egg rolls are very tasty. The menu is pretty expansive, which I like.

Delivery tends to be fairly quick, and the food is usually still piping hot when we open it.

Eating in -- the restaurant is very casual, nothing fancy here. Never a line, never a wait. Food is better eaten in, of course, than delivery. Very nice owners/servers.

I prefer Mei-Shung over Wing Hoe, but Wing Hoe is closer in distance from my home, so sometimes the convenience factor rules.

This place is pretty good. It's homey inside. I've had it twice: once as take out and another dining there. It was good both times. They have a nice family style dinner option from 2 people on. We had the dinner for two this last time. It came with egg rolls, soup, cashew chicken, mongolian beef, and rice. It was pretty tasty. The cashew chicken had good flavor, but too much watercress (I think that's what it's called)for my liking. It all came out to a little over $23 w/out tip.

I'd eat here again. I didn't think it was all that special, but there aren't that many Chinese options in the area that I know of. It is a little pricier than I'm use to for Chinese food as well.

This is kind of a ditto to Nando's review. More expensive than I'm used to for delivery, but good.

I've been looking for a good Chinese delivery place, and have been disappointed with most of my options. I've passed Mei-Shung, but didn't have a delivery menu from them. Searching on Yelp for "Chinese delivery," Mei-Shung came up, and after reading the reviews I decided to give them a try.

Delivery was fast fast fast, and the potions were ample. The crab rangoon was some of the best I've tasted. I ordered the combo fried rice, and meat was excellent, which is unusual. The orange chicken would probably have been better ordered in than delivered. It was a little soggy, and the pieces of chicken were too big. But very tasty.

I'm glad to have found this place. Next time I'm trying some of the Taiwanese offerings, since that seems to be what sets them apart.

Got it delivery. Pretty expensive, but great food.
I ate Crab Rangoon, Chicken and Vegetables, fried rice with vegetables. Everything was great.
