Nick's Uptown

Cold beer, good bartender, but dead so it killed my buzz and my fun mood.

Don't expect a trendy, hopping bar.  This place is great if you want to drink some good beer and play pool... if you are in the mood for something else, stay away.  Not many people in the bar until  late (some nights never busy) Music selection is usually pretty bad, but the staff is friendly and the pool is cheap.  Open till 4 so it is a perfect place to end the night playing pathetically bad pool at OAL.

If you find yourself at the Sheridan red line stop after 2am, this is your late bar.  You can find it by looking for the palm trees out front.  

Nick's is gigantic.  It's a huge, dark, cavernous room, bar to one side, tables along the wall and scattered in between.  Drinks are average prices.  The crowd is young 20s.  Pool tables on the other side.  The music was standard DJ fare, and not too loud so you can have a conversation with strangers.  Pretty much everything anyone looks for in a late bar.

The last time I was at Nick's before last night was back in 2007...it hasn't improved with age.  But again, it's everything you're looking for in a 4am bar on a Friday night.
