"We had dinner here about a month ago and all I can say is bad-bad-bad. The hostess was rude to us and we were seated after the couple that walked in before us! After being seated we waited ten minutes to see our waitress who seemed unconcerned that she took such a long time to visit us. The restaurant wasn't even busy and yet it still seemed like the waitress didn't have 2 seconds for us. The food was lukewarm and pretty bland; the only person in the restaurant who seemed to even care about us was the busboy who was very helpful and accommodating (took away plates, refilled drinks, very polite). We might give this place another try but I we'll be very wary about it.
Review Source:This is very good bistro type of restaurant with a French flair. Excellent food, wine and attentive staff. I have been there now many times since it opening and it has evolved into a great place for a low stress eating experience. Come any night of the week and the great crowd will on validate what I am saying.
Review Source:One of the few local spots in Trumbull, O Bar has improved since it opened a few years ago and is a reliable spot for a good burger, salads, small plates and drinks. Wine list is lengthy with sufficient choices by the glass. Chicken satay with peanut sauce as appetizer is tasty. Burger with bleu cheese always good. Fairly easy to get a table. Wait staff attentive.
Review Source:Mothers day breakfast was a nightmare. 2 hours to get bacon and eggs and when the order came it was all wrong. Staff hardly spoke English 45 minutes to take order. Eggs were burnt and salty. The restaurant was dirty with dust on booths and dead bugs on the window sill near my food. There was hardly anyone in the restaurant when we arrived and they were very slow. Had to yell to speak to one another  due to very loud ocean sounds on the stereo. Stay away unless you want to get frustrated over the terrible service and the food. Ruined my wife's Mothers Day.
Review Source:This place is a disaster. It is not unusual to sit for 20 minutes with empty glasses. The waiters are all on African Standard Time. The food is reasonably ok but the service just kills the experience. You have to believe that after all this time, management knows and does not give a flying fuck. Avoid this place even though Trumbull is a wasteland for dining.
Review Source:I have been here twice for dinner. Â The food and service here were abominable on both occasions. Â Chicken so salty it will make your eyes tear. Â Steak so small and charred I wanted to go out to dinner at a real restaurant right afterward. Â Both meals came with virtually nothing -- and not even bread was offered. Â My wife was charged $4.00 for a potato the size of a testicle, and burnt to cinders. Â The owners should be ashamed of themselves.
Oh, and while we were discussing just how badly we felt raped, the waiter stood in the corner. Â He never EVER came back to the table to offer even a drink of water.
That being said, the bartender makes a good martini, which is the only reason to go here. Â Skip the food and go straight to the bar. Â The attitude here is extremely smug, and each time I went, I felt that the wait staff was laughing at us because we were so dumb as to try to buy a decent meal here.
Can we please have a restaurant in our town that doesn't completely suck?
Came in today with mom and sis for their prix fixe $12.95 lunch.
Best lunch deal in town.
Although our waiter was sort of out of it.
Had to ask at least twice for our drinks of soda and tea.
Note: If you check in on Yelp while you're there and you show the waiter the phone, you get a tapas for freeeeeeeee!
Had the Caesar salad, Philly Cheesesteak Sandwich and the Floating Island for dessert. Â The dessert of meringue, cream and caramel sauces are worth the trip alone.
The outdoor patio looked nice, but today was so hot we didn't even attempt it.
There was a couple out there we saw that was so hot in the sun that they had to switch to a more shaded area. Â Much cooler where we were inside.
Overpriced for mediocre food. $13 hamburger ordered medium came overcooked when we were the only patrons in the place for a late lunch. We have tried this place many times because we live inTrumbull and want to give them a chance but we always leave feeling ripped off for what we got. They need to improve the quality of their food. We would like to see them succeed because our town needs restaurants.
Review Source:I'm going to leave a simple review for once
Pros: Its a place in Trumbull that has a good drink selection, and great drink menu (but a bit pricey.....but hey did I mention its in Trumbull)
Cons: Price, Decor, Selection of food.
I'm not sure what type of restaurant it is. I know its food and drinks, which is pretty complete to me. It just seems to lack a type of concept or focus.
3 stars because I believe its the best place to get drinks in such a dry town.
Honestly- where should I begin. At the risk of sounding like a snob or an elitist I just HAVE to warn potential patrons. DON'T BOTHER! Drive the extra 10-15 minutes to go somewhere else.
The decor is bleak 80's wine colored walls w passe Italian wine prints & Home Depot plants, Grey mirrors, lazy wait staff, old/reused restaurant furniture. OMG.
1.the nachos were COLD (how is that possible?!) & the cheese to chip ratio was conservative @ best
2. guacamole was a shocking shade of pseudo green & chock-full of Bermuda onion which is all I tasted
3. the salsa was from a can? / jar
4. Our server got our drink order very wrong
5. the chili they served w the nachos (on the side) was flavorless watery ground meat concoction
6. Our waiter never returned to ask if we were pleased(um we totally were NOT)
The regular menu looked pretty traditional W ample choices & variety. The bar menu offered some cool appetizers for $5 each.
But I will NOT go back. I actually don't like the one in F airfield either- don't even get me started on that cr*ck den.
