Oak Tavern

I was only here for an hour during the St. Joe's and Xavier basketball game. There was a live band playing several oldies! Lively bar! The bartender and owners are great people. According to everyone there, they have the best bar food. I didn't have any food, but what everyone ordered looked delicious. I will be going back.

I stumbled upon "The Oak" (as regulars call it) last week and it was a typical sports bar with a local's only feel. It kind of reminded me of a Milton's crowd but way more sports feel. There are tons of tv's and the bar is simple.

I was surprised when I asked for a margarita and they actually got out the agave nectar and lime juice. Usually at a place like this they pull out a gallon of syrupy disgustingness and call it a day. But the bartender made it fresh and it was really good.

This is not my scene, and I felt a bit heckled by the seriously drunk local's but if you're in the area it is probably the best of the worst since this entire drag is sports bars.

Cheap drinks, decent marg, and big TV's. A solid sports bar spot.

The Oak Tavern is by far the best bar food I've had in Cincinnati. I seriously think it's the best burger and wings you can get in the Cincinnati area! To start, the wings are smoked, which makes them absolutely delicious. Whatever seasoning they add on there to help enrich the flavor just makes it stand out on it's own! If you're feeling the mood to then smother the goodness with one of their many sauces, just ask. They have a whole bucket of sauce variety!

If you're not in the wing mood, then be sure to try out the burgers. They's also smoked, so you won't miss out on the outstanding flavor. The bun is warm and soft, the cheese gooey, and the patty delicious. It's perfect and not overwhelming at all!

In terms of the ambiance, it very much gives off the local bar feel. I'm actually surprised there weren't more people in there with how good the food is!
