I was only here for an hour during the St. Joe's and Xavier basketball game. There was a live band playing several oldies! Lively bar! The bartender and owners are great people. According to everyone there, they have the best bar food. I didn't have any food, but what everyone ordered looked delicious. I will be going back.

I stumbled upon "The Oak" (as regulars call it) last week and it was a typical sports bar with a local's only feel. It kind of reminded me of a Milton's crowd but way more sports feel. There are tons of tv's and the bar is simple.

I was surprised when I asked for a margarita and they actually got out the agave nectar and lime juice. Usually at a place like this they pull out a gallon of syrupy disgustingness and call it a day. But the bartender made it fresh and it was really good.

This is not my scene, and I felt a bit heckled by the seriously drunk local's but if you're in the area it is probably the best of the worst since this entire drag is sports bars.

Cheap drinks, decent marg, and big TV's. A solid sports bar spot.

The Oak Tavern is by far the best bar food I've had in Cincinnati. I seriously think it's the best burger and wings you can get in the Cincinnati area! To start, the wings are smoked, which makes them absolutely delicious. Whatever seasoning they add on there to help enrich the flavor just makes it stand out on it's own! If you're feeling the mood to then smother the goodness with one of their many sauces, just ask. They have a whole bucket of sauce variety!

If you're not in the wing mood, then be sure to try out the burgers. They's also smoked, so you won't miss out on the outstanding flavor. The bun is warm and soft, the cheese gooey, and the patty delicious. It's perfect and not overwhelming at all!

In terms of the ambiance, it very much gives off the local bar feel. I'm actually surprised there weren't more people in there with how good the food is!

If Habits is the best burger in Oakley than the Oak Tavern is the best bar.

I love coming here to watch football, futbol, or even the Olympics. Habits tends to have a good crowd in the evening, a decent amount of Hooligans and all the important bar mainstays. Whether you want to watch the game, get sloshed with your buddies, throw darts, attempt the naked boobie photo hunt with strangers, or have a chat by the year-round fire pit, the Oak is the spot that fits the bill.

There's a little bit a grub if your stomach is grumbling as well.

This is the perfect spot to stop after flag football games. Zero seem to mind if you're wearing cleats and covered in mud. This is a bar where you can come formal or filthy without a double take.

The Oak is the your standard local bar. It has a wide range of visitors, with the age group ranging from those in their 20's-50's. The Oak has reasonable prices and a fun little atmosphere. The Oak offers a full range bar, but does not offer food. It has a few televisions for watching the big games, and has a sportsbar-like atmosphere.

It was my first time at the Oak Tavern, and it was just fine. Maybe because it was a Sunday and I was writing, and they have Wi-Fi.

The good...they have a great dozen or so beers on tap and happy hour lasts from 11am-7pm. The bar area is clean and attractive. The bartenders were cute, smart, interesting, and attentive. There are two separate outdoor areas...one along Madison Road, with tables, and a covered back patio with more tables, TVs, and heaters.

The bad...the floor looks horrible, and replacing it would bump it up a star from me. Also, the restrooms are small. I guess that's to be expected in an old building, though. They were clean, at least, but the urinal doesn't flush. And it can only accommodate one person, so I'd hate to see it when the place gets packed.

I would go back again to work, though. The atmosphere was great...started to get loud and frat-like as I left, but hey, it's a bar.

My friends and I enjoy stopping in here for a drink, but it has been a few years since I've tried something on the menu. The beer prices are reasonable and the selection is what you would expect for the area. Depending on your age, you might notice that the customers get younger as the night wears on.

The big downer of this place is the single women's and men's restrooms, which has led to people using whichever is available. Yes, I know there's a port-a-potty outside but who wants to use that on chilly nights?!

It can get loud when there's a band because they're positioned right next to the the tables so if you want to hear your friends, head outside or move back toward the bar.

Waited around for over a half an hour for service, but all of the servers just ignored us. Food tasted disgusting, rude people. Horrible experience!!!

I've gone to Oak Tavern three times. The first time, we waited forever to be seen by a server to get our drink and food orders. After that, it took forever to get drinks refilled. The second time we went, we sat at a table and were ignored by every server in the restaurant. We left without ever being acknowledged. Because we had a http://Restaurant.com coupon, we wanted to give Oak Tavern another chance. Again, we were never acknowledged, even though the table directly next to us was being helped by a server. The bar wasn't even that busy. Why have servers when anything you want, you have to go to the bartender for. This time, we also left without being served. What does it take to be served in this bar?!? Am I missing out on something?! I will never be going back to Oak Tavern.

I didn't discover the Oak Tavern until this summer, when I moved to Hyde Park. In that short time, I have developed several fond memories here. I watched quite a few of the world cup games on the patio. I went and listened to a friend's band play inside. I hung out on the patio drinking Oktoberfest beer for the brief moment of fall we had early in September. And not to mention the many nights I just went there to grad a quick beer. During all that times, I have yet to have a bad experience here. Yes, they have occasionally been out of the beer I wanted and yes, sometimes it is impossible to stay inside because the band playing is just way too loud, but this are small blemishes. The beer selection is great, with lots of craft beers and imports. I have had the nachos here and they were good bar food. The chicken wrap was way spicier than I thought it would be, but really you aren't going for the food. Parking is best around the corner in front of the library. Plus side: it is right down the street from Skyline so you can get a coney after all the drinking!

Nice tavern, great outdoor seating (flat screens outside) ... Mix of young professionals and locals with ok drink specials.

Service is a little slow.

Live music was pretty good.

Oak tavern is right in downtown Oakley, within walking distance from other bars. I went on a Thursday night, a little later, around 11. It didn't seem like there were that many people there until we went out on the patio. The patio was almost full, which wasn't surprising considering it was a beautiful night! The other patrons were super friendly, which was really nice! My drinks were good, but I can't speak much for the prices because I was lucky enough to have my drinks paid for.

People were playing the juke box all night, and I know they have live music. I would love to go back when they have the live music. Standard bar indeed, nothing spectacular about it, but it wasn't bad.

The Oak is your standard local bar. I've been there several times to watch sports games.

The Oak offers a full bar, but not food. While, it does not offer any food, they do let you bring food or even order pizza to the bar.

The Oak has 3 large flat screen HD TVs and a good juke box.
The bathrooms are tiny but clean.

Finally, the Oak also has good jam bands, like the Rumpke Mountain Boys playing regularly.

We checked out the Oak late on a Friday night. By the time that we arrived there (around 1:30AM), the little bar was almost empty. Alt Rock was blasting out of the electric juke box so loudly I could hardly hear my friends above it.

We grabbed seats at the bar and ordered drinks. My short vodka cran was a little too stiff for my taste; I had to wait for the ice to melt before I could enjoy it. I guess that was a good thing, though, as I got a pleasant buzz for my $3. Draft beers are $1.50, bottles are $2.25. We got a round of Red Snappers (Crown, Peach Schnapps, and Cranberry) for 4 bucks a piece.

The Oak is tiny, 25x30 feet at the absolute most, but a small stage sat in one corner of the bar advertising live music on Saturday nights. Chalkboards with "April Birthdays" and "May Birthdays" hang above the bar; speaking to the neighborhood feel of this establishment. The bartender we had was friendly and talkative and he made our drinks as fast as we could order them.

Our group (mostly Xavier students or grads/fans) struck up a friendly banter with the bar manager, who insisted that our UC's basketball team was better than the Musketeer's program (right, and who made the elite eight, again?). He jokingly yelled "last call for Xavier fans" at 2AM, a full fifteen minutes before the actual last call siren.

The Oak does carry-out until they close at 2:30AM so if you're desperate for a six pack in the early morning hours, drop by. Parking in Oakley is usually a problem but if you get to this bar after normal business hours you'll find plenty of room in the Fresh Market lot across the street.
