When it comes to restaurants, I'm picky because I spent years as a restaurant manager. I'm extra picky when it is a concept that I used to work for. Back in 2005 I left Boston Market where I was an Assistant General Manager, to change careers and get into museum work. Seven years later, I would make the same decision again.
Boston Market is a terrific concept that serves sometimes delicious comfort food. The food is pretty hit or miss here. Sometimes it's just right, while other times there isn't enough cheese or the turkey is dry. The one thing that is fairly consistent here is that the service is usually terrible. I have heard the dining room staff swear regarding new service standards that "make their job harder," and that no one ever leaves tips. The management seems generally aloof.
I love eating here and wish I could have more positive experiences to share.
