I don't eat in hotel Restaurants or bars very often, but I tried this place out and the food was really good and I didn't think it was too badly priced either. I loved the drunken mushroom starter. The staff were also very nice and our drinks never went empty. What more can you ask for.
Review Source:Talk about a miserable experience. Â I find a place to sit, which I'd have to disagree about the place having more than enough TVs since my view was far away and obstructed. Â I wait for about ten minutes to be acknowledged, and finally place an order for two items and a drink. Â The drink comes fairly quickly. Â I then wait about 35 minutes, and am told when I'm ready to give up and leave that my order is coming out soon. Â Ten minutes later one of the two things I ordered arrives (45 minutes for a sandwich that could be constructed in under five) - I'd have asked where the other item (chicken wings) was, but at this point I've had enough and just want to eat something and leave.
The sandwich was good - bar food, not disgusting but nevertheless a $5 sandwich anywhere else that is $12 at an airport hotel restaurant. Â Of course when you wait that long I could have been served a piece of cardboard and possibly have found it tasty. Â After finishing my sandwich, I look around, begging, pleading to be noticed for my bill. Â I eventually decide that I, good honest person I am, will just do my first ever dine n dash ("dash" in this case being wait over 45 minutes after eating for my bill before giving up on getting any service before walking out). Â Well, the waitress finally came back and asked if I was finished, as if it is normal to be left alone for 45 minutes to eat a small sandwich. Â I pay and bid farewell to an awful place. Â Never, ever again. Â I noticed about five waitstaff, which should have been more than adequate for the crowd; however, at any time you'd be lucky to see one out on the floor assisting customers.
The service here was beyond awful. We were seated at a dirty table. The waitresses ignored our table. We had to walk to the bar TWICE to get drink refills. Â
My wife's "vegan" salad had cheese in it. My brother's cheeseburger's was almost raw in the center. My crab cake sandwich was palatable. Â
I know you can't expect much from airport hotel restaurants but this was a terrible experience.
Players is the Sports Bar in the Philadelphia Airport Hilton. They have a wide selection of beer on tap, full bar & bar food menu. I certainly wouldn't go out of my way to come to Players but as a guy traveling that was staying at the Hilton I can say it was perfectly fine.
I had the Philly Cheesesteak and it was worth 3 stars, could have used a little more meat but the taste was good.
The servers are all attentive (I went there during the Packers-Saints opening night NFL game) and even though the place was pretty much full the service was prompt & friendly. Kudos's to Maria for doing such a good job!
They've got a lot of TV's so seeing the game is not a problem. Â The crowd is your typical traveling businessperson crowd; 80% male and most in the 40+ year old catagory just like me :-)
Overall, a positive hotel bar/restaurant experience!
My cousin had her reception here in July, I had an long island, and thought it was horrible, we told her about it and she gladly made us another one. Before leaving the hotel to return back to houston, I decided to try my first Philly Cheese Steak, it was amazing and so were the fries.. I know its best to go to a place known for Cheesesteaks but to me this one was excellent.
Review Source:Located in the lobby of the Hilton Philadelphia Airport, I've only been able to spend about an hour in there, while catching the latter half of the Cowboys/Bills MNF game.
I counted at least 15 TVs, with (at least) 2-3 big screens, and one 10' projection screen...
MNF They offered $2.75 Michelob Ultra pints, and $3.50 (or $3.75) specials of other varieties of beer (I forget which ones).
Plenty of seats, tables, and TVs... and they have at least one pool table, and a couple arcade games (including Golden Tee).
If I wasn't trying to find as many different places to Yelp about, I probably would've stayed here a bit longer.
