I attended one of their wine tastings on a Friday evening.  The cost of the tasting was $15 for 6 wines.  You can also opt for a $10 for 4 tastes option.  They also have a buffet of hot and cold appetizers that anyone can enjoy.  They are hidden in plain sight on plum street- look for the red door.  They have very limited hours, so check their website before heading that way.

I have mixed feelings about this tasting.  The food was good and helped to make the relatively expensive tasting worth the money.  But, service was slow, especially since at the time we went it was pretty empty.

So decision up to you... I will probably try it one more time before making a full decision myself.

    1st time at this venue.

They have wine tastings every Thursday & Friday evening & the location is available for private tastings.  The price is $10 for 4 wines an additional $5 for 2 higher tier wines.  I think the price was a little high but the ambiance, wine, & food were great.

The wine on the tasting menu was all good & I even purchased a bottle of one of the wines on the higher tier list.  Their complimentary gourmet hors d'oeuvres were very tasty.

I hate to give Plum Court such a good rating.  Not because they don't deserve it, which they do, but Plum Court is barely one of those little well-kept secrets.  And the more people that find out about it, the harder it will be for me to go in there and get a seat!  Nevertheless, I am a giving, selfless person, so I will share the delight that is Plum Court Wine Room with all of you.

The space is cozy, i.e., small, in a rehabbed old building at the corner of Plum and Court streets downtown.  The proprietors are a friendly couple who run the Wine Room as a labor of love.  Currently, Plum Court is only open for Friday night wine tastings, or special events.  On Fridays, you get four wines for $10 plus an array of cheeses, dips, and finger foods.  Naturally, the wine offerings vary each week, but I have never tasted a bad wine here.  You can also purchase wine by the glass if you just want to drink your favorite.

They also have a good retail selection and the prices are reasonable.  The downside to Plum Court is the limited hours and limited space.

I love this place. I won't lie, I hesitated writing a review on this place because I feel like it's one of downtown's best-kept secrets. Lucky for you, I've had a change of heart.

Situated on a non-descript corner on the east side of downtown (Plum & Court, go figure), the exterior doesn't do much to beckon would-be patrons. Little do they know that what awaits inside is an evening of great wine, appetizers, and conversation.

The space itself is cozy, in a neutral way. There's only sitting room for 1 or 2 groups, and the rest of the establishment is aimed towards couples or people sitting at the bar. I wouldn't mind seeing more seating for groups, but floor space is at a premium here.

If you've been to PCWR before, odds are it's been one of their Thursday Night Wine Flights, which are always fantastically catered by the owners Dollie and Tom. These folks are passionate about their business, and true, genuine people. Cincinnati needs more people like them.

PCWR's wine flights are inexpensive, as are their bottles. Looking for a relaxing, classy evening out? Enjoy one of their live music evenings (Delbert Williams, you're awesome), get a bottle (or two), and gather up some friends. Plum Court Wine Room is definitely a favorite.

Plum Court Wine Room is a fantastic option to have in the rotation.

Challenges: Their limited hours and limited selection of wines.

Successes: Very gracious hosts. Much care goes into food preparation, finding great value wines, and making guests feel welcome.

Plum Court is a gem hidden in plain sight. A building and spot you've probably driven by a thousand times and still have no idea it's there.

Right on Court Street, this building is not well-marked, which I have to believe is done on purpose. It's got a red door with the words "Plum Court Wine Room" written on it and that's the only sign for this place. It's really a spot you know about, or you don't (and now you do!)

Of course it doesn't help that they're never open. You can go into Plum Court once a week for a wine tasting they hold with amazing food (last I checked it was on Thursdays, but you'd do well to check again.) The rest of the time, it's there for private parties only. But what a space.

Beautifully decorated in a library type feel (with wood and leather everywhere), this wine bar is amazing. Try a glass at the bar and then take it to sit somewhere else. The staff is also very very knowledgeable in what they're serving and will explain it to you in great detail.

Owner Dolly is a wonderful person and really loves owning this great space where Cincinnati can come and relax for a little while ... even if most of Cincinnati doesn't even know it exists.

A quaint family establishment, Plum Court is a great place for a date or a relaxing evening of sampling wines. I attended a tasting here and sampled five wines: two whites and three reds. They were served from lightest to heaviest. I prefer sweet, light drinks so I didn't care much for the last two reds. There was definitely a broad variety and that was just the tip of the iceberg here at Plum Court.

The server took time to explain the different varieties of what he was serving, what food it should be paired with, and answered any questions I had. I was particularly fond of the atmosphere, which had plenty of seating. I liked the high booth tucked away in the corner.

Don't fret if you drive by and Plum Court looks closed. It's only open for wine tastings on Thursdays from 5:30pm - 8:00pm. Mark you calendar and give it a try!

    I adore this little place.

I really do wish they were open more than one day per week.  We had an event there on a Thursday evening for Cincinnati Habitat for Humanity Young Professionals, and they were SO accommodating to us!

I loved the personal service that they gave all of our guests and the added touch of offering chocolate with the "Chocolate Shop" red wine that they offered as a "dessert" to our tasting.

I had a great experience there and would love to go back soon... but it will have to be a Thursday, since they're only open on Thursdays!

The atmosphere is nice, the people are nice, the wine is VERY nice!

If you're looking for a romantic spot to take a date on Thursday evening, DEFINITELY check out their wine tasting.

Their creativity in choosing "Spanish Speaking" wines for our Doce de Mayo wine tasting was really phenomenal.

And the food- which they prepare themselves, for the most part- was really great.

Ladies, watch out for the bathroom, though, because if it's crowded, you could be seeing a little more of your friends than you bargain for- you can see over the stall doors when you're standing up in the stalls. ;)

All in all- I'd definitely recommend it to anyone who knows a little or a lot about wine!

Plum Court Wine Room is a cute little wine bar owned and operated by a husband and wife.  They have weekly wine tastings on Thursday night, and included in the price is homemade, gourmet appetizers... delicious!  I've gone to Plum Court for a few special events, including a vegan wine and chocolate tasting last week.  I'm not a vegan, but it was a great event just the same.  Prices for the tastings are very reasonable, as are the bottle prices.  I haven't found an official Web site for Plum Court yet, but they are on Facebook, and you can check out their special events there.

Their Thursday wine tasting is a nice way
to spend a Thursday night.  The owners are great and always a nice group of people are there.  Tom makes all the food served and it is all very good and a good selection of wine.

We had an amazing time at last Thursday's wine tasting. We got a couple of friends together and walked down. You can barely notice this place but it is at the corner of Plum and Court and is only open one night per week. I hear they are going to start doing private parties.

This week featured Spanish wines. They were all very good. The food was tasty too. $10 covered the cost of the wine tasting and the finger foods were free. There were a variety of cheeses, fruits, marinated mushrooms and olives. They also had some hummus, salmon spread, cheese crisps, Asian dumplings and breads.

We may make this a regular event. The owner, Tom made all of the food and Dolly, also the owner, poured wine and mingled around with info about the wine. They were both very knowledgeable and nice.

Plum Court Wine Room is cool, cozy, kinda chic. The owners are probably the most distinctive feature of the wine room. The wine room is a unique venture in their lives, and they opened the wine room with the combination of spontaneity and thoughtful planning that makes small local businesses outshine some of their bigger and more flashy competition. If you come by for a Thursday evening tasting, be sure chat them up and hear their story.

The Thursday wine tasting is a must. There is always a great selection of wines at good prices, and sometimes at amazingly good prices (we got a case of PKNT that we loved for $6/bottle!). The owners also prepare some truly tasty appetizers for the weekly event. Tom's salmon dip is scrumptious, and makes the trip worthwhile by itself.

They typically host other local artists, artisans, and vendors in the upstairs loft during the wine tasting, so you can do some very interesting browsing while you sip and snack.

Another huge perk is convenience. It is only a few blocks from fountain square or any activities you may have downtown, AND the parking is plentiful and free within a block of Plum Court wine room.

So I highly recommend Plum Court wine room.

Best Feature: Great wine selection and friendly staff!
Worst Feature: Location + parking can be a bit difficult to find

I recently visited this establishment for an awesome Yelp event and had a great time! The location itself was a bit tricky to find; it's on a corner in a neat little building. There isn't any private lot parking as I could find, so you better find yourself a street spot. Once we found it, we entered and I immediately liked the atmosphere. I love the architecture and as soon as you walk in you can tell this place has a certain charm about it.

It was a bit cramped for a big group, but I loved the interior! Very elegant and inviting. The staff was incredibly friendly and the owners were very happy to talk about their wines and their business. They were a total blast and I'd return just for the service alone.

The wines we had the opportunity to taste were pretty good! Wasn't as big of a fan of the Cupcake brand of wine, though. I've definitely tasted brands I enjoyed more, but I loved the variety of wines they offered and even the ones we were lucky to try! They also did a great job keeping up with a bigger crowd and keeping everyone happy.

I believe they offer wine tastings on Thursdays, so be sure stop in sometime and try them out! They're quite awesome and I'll be sure to return whenever we're in a "wine" kind of mood.

Tonight was my first visit to this lovely establishment. Like other people have noted, when walking down the street, you wouldn't even know this place was here, but you'll find it downtown at the corner of Court and Plum, and once you step foot inside, you will be happy you did.

I chatted with one of the owners for a bit, and found out that they run a $10 wine tasting on Thursday nights (from 5:30-8pm), complete with food pairings. Their space is gorgeous, and well outfitted. The wines are reasonably priced as well, and they have a nice assortment. I told them I am a fan of white wines, particularly sweeter ones, and was immediately given what instantaneously became my new favorite wine (I forget the brand, but it was a 2007 Sauvignon Blanc).

Just when you think the first floor is really cute, wait, it gets better: there are two more floors. I only ventured onto the second floor, which was a great positive space, where I would love to host a party. In fact, they are very accommodating to anyone who is interested in using their delightfully charming space for events.

I always like to check out the bathrooms at places I go to warn folks off if they happen to be groadsville. I didn't check the men's room, but I have a full report on the ladies room, which is about as pink as a restroom can be. I found one thing a little off-putting, well, not if you barely clear five feet tall like myself, but for taller girls, you can see over the tops of the stalls. So for the taller ladies, put on your blinders when using the fabulous pink facilities. Or use one of the other stalls. Other than that one oddity, the restrooms get a squeaky clean vote of confidence.

This little gem is hidden away. You might miss it even if you don't blink. Look for the white lettering on the glass door, or better yet, follow the addresses. Once you find it though, you will be pleasantly surprised. It's a cozy place, and even more so for the wildly popular Yelp event.

They are only open one day a week when they have a very reasonably priced wine tasting event. However, you can reserve it for private events if you so choose.

They have a modest selection, however, everything I had was quite good. They also offer an impressive spread of food for their tastings. The owners are very friendly. I'd recommend swinging by for their tasting and enjoy the atmosphere.

If I hadn't gone to Plum Court Wine Room for a Yelp event, I probably never would have even knew it existed. Appropriately located on the corner of Plum and Court Streets, this small establishment is quite off the beaten path. Additionally, the only identifying feature is the name on the door.

Once you get inside, though you are greeted by a warm, well-decorated space to taste wines to your heart's content. Plus Court's space is divided up into the front area, with a good sized bar and some two-tops, and the lounge-like back space, with couches and cocktail tables. As I said before, the space is very well decorated, with soft tones and fountains creating a serene atmosphere.

The owners were absolutely wonderful during our event. Both were very knowledgeable about the wines sampled and were very forthcoming on details about their business. They even recorked a bottle that we had purchased to drink there. They seem like very nice, friendly people.

There were also a very good spread for us yo snack on, which was really nice. I'm not sure if that's a usual thing for their tastings, but it is quite a plus. Also, I'm not entirely sure of their usual selection, as this tasting was one brand. I noticed some bottles behind the counter, but couldn't make out all of them.

I really hope Plum Court manages to overcome their location and manage to prosper. The owners are good people and the space is very charming. I'm very glad I got the chance to visit and will be spreading the word to those wine lovers that I know.

Wow really these guys do an amazing job.  We went here for a private event (which is their specialty I believe) and they did an amazing job.  From fabulous appetizers to a great selection of wines from the Cupcake label they had an excellent wine tasting event for us.  Their space seems small when you first walk in but it easily accommodated 50+ people and made for a cozy, friendly atmosphere that encouraged mingling and discussions.  Everyone working was very friendly and super knowledgeable.

If you are ever looking for something to do on a Thursday evening, they have an open to the public wine tasting that you should totally attend.

Thanks to everyone at the Plum Court Wine room for your hospitality and your good vittles!

Even before we walked into the Plum Court Wine Room, the lighting inside seem to beckon and promise coziness and warmth.  The room was exactly that- cozy and warm, with exposed brick and a great bar.  We went for the Yelp wine tasting and enjoyed it very much.  The staff was very friendly and provided some delicious snacks.  This would be a great place for a small event and now I know that it's there, I'm pretty sure some Thursday evenings will be spent here in the near future...

No sommelier looking down his Gaulish nose at your here.  The owners were very welcoming and chatty without being intrusive.  It was a busy night when I was there but as I was tasting (and talking) I was politely checked on and glasses of water were set out for folks.  What's not to love about a friendly wine room?

Last night yelp host an event here.  It's on the corner of Plum and Court (hence the name) and the entrance doesn't face Plum or Court but the corner - I love that for some reason.

It was a beautifully done room with a long bar, table seating near the bar and a comfortable lounge area.  Here's what the place looks empty <a href="/redir?url=http%3A%2F%2Fyfrog.com%2F2s4wmyj&s=9bf5b1a8b64dbb866c8dd855e60f6285a6117b852aaa1c55f91db2634132e0b5" target="_blank" rel="nofollow">http://yfrog.com/2s4wmyj</a> (pic by Alex S.).  Here's what the place looks like when they get a crowd <a href="/redir?url=http%3A%2F%2Fyfrog.com%2Fmjtjonj&s=69f15e62fd4e7fce0bf6cffcc1c260291c2a2dea4031ccd8bdcb1e2d51a1c12b" target="_blank" rel="nofollow">http://yfrog.com/mjtjonj</a>.

I know plenty of wine snobs that would adore this place. Being raised in a wine-loving part of the country (Long Island) I have been to plenty of vineyard wine-tastings... but last night I experienced my first wine-tasting that was not at a vineyard, rather in the outskirts of Over-The-Rhine of all places!

The Plum Court Wine Room is an appropriately-named little shop at the corner of Plum and Court streets. It can be hard to find at night, due to the fact that there is no sign other than the etching on the front door; just look for the red awning.

There is plenty of street parking along the surrounding streets; we parked at the first meter just outside the door. Upon walking in, you're greeted by hardwood everything - bar, floor, chairs, etc. It is a really nice, quaint little room!

The wines are in abundance, though I saw a trend of mostly California, Australian, and South American wines. I wonder if they have European (I suppose I'll have to come back to find out!)...

The staff is very friendly and they REALLY know their stuff! We had hors d'oeuvres with our tasting, and all of the food was excellent and cooked in house.

I'll definitely come back to this place if the occasion calls for it. If you're looking for a nice, chill atmosphere with friendly people and good wine, look no further.

I could not have planned a better Wednesday night if I tried!

My inaugural Yelp Event was hosted by the lovely owners. And what a brilliant event it was! Aside from the fact that is was stocked to the brim with awesome Yelpers, this place was the perfect venue for small events- simple and tasteful decor, cozy seating, delicious food, wide array of wines to sample...

The whole event was great, but I was most impressed by the staff. The service was spectacular- always knew which "taste" I was on and what to serve me next. How he did that in a room full of so many people is beyond me! The owners had a laid back but attentive demeanor that really set mood for the whole place. The chef rocked our buffet with amazing tid-bits. (I could have gorged myself on those potstickers!)

I highly recommend this place to anyone looking to host a small, classy and intimate event!

When you visit- look for the red awnings, because there are signs you can really see from the road (hopefully there will be someday).

This may be one of the best kept secrets in Cincinnati!  The entrance is so unobtrusive, you'll miss it until you know what you're looking for.  But step inside, and you will find a warm, welcoming space just perfect for a group gathering.  The owners and staff were very friendly and willing to answer questions; they were certainly  knowledgeable about their wine!  I was also impressed that each remember which 'pour' you were on, even though there were over 50 people in the room.

Plum Court is open to the general public on Thursdays, and available for private functions the other days of the week.  The cost of a tasting is a very reasonable $7.  I would highly recommend it for a small corporate event.  The space is absolutely fantastic, though seating can be a bit limited with a larger group.  Any of the wine in the shop is for sale, and they will customize your tasting upon request for private groups.

Over all, I am very impressed with this venue and will be sure to make a return trip soon!

Had an awesome experience - staff is knowledgeable and friendly. Make sure you explore the rest of the floors - this is a really space with lots of potential.  If you didn't know about it you would miss it which adds to it's charm.

The Yelp event I attended provided finger hors d'oeuvres but I am not sure if that is normal for their Thursday wine tastings.  This would be a wonderful venue for a small group gathering.

Went here for a Yelp wine tasting event and it was a great experience.

The staff was awesome and friendly. They're open once a week on Thursday's for wine-tasting only and hold private events during the other days. They don't charge a venue fee as long as you have 15 or more people.

The owners are awesome and friendly, all the snacks are made by the owner which are pretty amazing. Look out for the turkey meatballs.... good stuff.

They have a 3rd floor with the roof removed but that won't be opening up anytime soon since winter is coming. Looking forward to what they do with the place.
