Most impressive roof deck in the city period

It is easily one of the best lounges in Manhattan, and certainly the best rooftop lounge in New York. The Press Lounge is the relaxed upstairs neighbor of Print Restaurant, both of which are located in the Ink 48 Hotel (see the pattern?). If I had a list of criteria for an ideal rooftop lounge to frequent, I am confident the Press Lounge would hit all the check marks.

- Great view? Check. With the Hudson River (and by extension Jersey) to the west, and Times Square (and by extension the rest of Midtown) to the east, it's an intoxicating sight, especially on a first visit.

- Great drinks? Check. While I usually opt for the single malt scotches that I know I love, the cocktails here are done very well, and there's something for everyone no matter your spirit of choice.

- Great service? Check. All the bartenders are friendly and accessible, and the wait staff are also a delight in casual conversation.

- Accessibility? Check. The bouncer does not turn people away unless you're either dressed poorly, or you don't have a valid ID. Both of these are very good reasons to turn people away, and beyond that there isn't much restriction. The bouncers are generally nice people as well.

- Space? Check. The rooftop level boasts a simple yet elegant lounge with plenty of space and seating when you first exit the elevator. The extended covered outdoor seating area (two of them) are great during unfavorable weather conditions. The outdoor terrace gives way to the aforementioned breathtaking views, and also offers plenty of seating or standing room.

This will likely always be one of my favorite joints in Manhattan, and it will continue to be a warm memory long after I've left New York.

Loved this place. Drinks are slightly on the expensive side but it is totally worth it, considering the ambience and the view you are treated to.
