I love this brewery!!! The beer are amazing and they have a really good selection. I love the bottom up wit, coup d"etat, and the a little crazy. The food is delicious and they offer quite a few vegetarian and vegan dishes. Their burgers and sandwiches are very tasty. The beer cheese soup is AMAZE BALLS. You must order that when you visit. This place gets pretty busy on the weekends so I try to go during weeknights, no wait!
Review Source:I'm going to echo a lot of the positive reviews of this place and say that we had a great experience here. I don't make it into the city too often, so this was a real treat to go here.
I'll start with the food: it was amazing. I am a vegetarian and had the tofu revolution sandwich with a spicy mustard and swiss cheese - DELICIOUS! I like tofu anyway, so a lot of you are probably shaking your heads at that statement and saying "screw that, where's the meat?," But for all my veggie comrades out there, this vegetarian sandwich was a hit. The fries are delicious and the portions were perfect.
We ordered the cheese plate as an appetizer but unfortunately our waiter forgot. They were SUPER busy on a Saturday afternoon at 2:30pm, and I go easy on the wait staff at any place because it's a stressful job when it's that busy. He came by and apologized (caught it himself, no one told him), which we appreciated and didn't give the guy a hard time. He did a good job overall.
I had the Coup D'Etat, the Double Fist, and the Anti-Hero (which I've had before in the suburbs). I ended up taking a growler home of the Coup D'Etat. I would have purchased multiple growlers if it didn't mean I'd have about 5 of them in my fridge, lol.
I love that this place exists. It's on par with Half Acre in terms of city breweries, although I have to give Revolution the upper hand because I like their beer slightly better, plus they have food (not just food, but GOOD food). More seating as well and we didn't have to wait for a table.
Fun place to go. Highly recommend.
I stopped by Revolution Brewery Brewbup in Logan Square on a Friday evening for dinner. Given the good reputation of their beer, naturally, my hopes were high, but unfortunately, my experience at this establishment was just average. I am giving Revolution Brewery two stars for the following reasons. The night I was there, the service was very slow. To be fair, I don't think it was our server's fault because it seemed like the restaurant was understaffed. It took almost an hour for our food to come out after placing our order. I had the Smoke Stack pizza, which was luck warm and a little soggy. It basically tasted like it had been pulled out of the oven and left on the kitchen counter for a half an hour before it made its way out to our table. On a positive note, the beer was great and I really liked the bar. I could see myself coming back for the beer, but definitely not for the food.
Review Source:Revolution is killing it folks. Â To be specific, they are hitting on the three crucial facets of a good brewpub: yummy beer, hearty food and a fun atmosphere.
First, the beer here is very good. Â Personal favorites include Eugene, Working Man and the Very Mad Cow but they have everything from light golden ales to double IPAs to the darker Eugene porter so you will certainly find something to your liking. Â The food here is also very good. Â There is not really a specific cuisine they are shooting for, but there is clearly an emphasis on quality ingredients. Â Everyone raves about the bacon fat popcorn and while I always get it, it is really greasy (but cover anything in bacon fat and thats what happens). Â I've tried their burgers, fish and chips and pizza and everything has been very satisfying. Â Lastly, the place has a very fun atmosphere and good natural lighting during the day. Â During the day or weeknights there is always some activity with people buzzing around... it gets crowded on the weekend evening and there is generally a wait to get a table but thats just a testament to the fact that the place is good. Â I have never had an issue with service, even on busy nights.
To be honest, they are not knocking out of the park with any one attribute, but they have such solid beer, food and atmosphere that I can't help but it give it 5 stars.
I like this place...like the crowd, like the space, like the beer, like the food. Â We started with the artisanal platter which was delicious - especially the peach vanilla compote and the marcona almonds. Â We also had the bacon fat popcorn but while the bacon topping was delicious, I couldn't really tell that it was popped in bacon fat. Â I had the farm burger for dinner and loved it. Â Well, I mostly loved it. Â The burger/egg horseradish cream part was absolutely delicious. Â The only problem with it was the beets...and that's actually my own fault. I never liked beets but I keep hearing about everyone loving beets so I figured I'd give them another try. Well, guess what? I still don't like them. Â But one of my friends does and she ate them all and loved them. Everyone else liked their food a lot.
As far as the beer...I personally had the following: Double Fist, Coup D'Etat, Cross of Gold, and Bottom Up Wit....so obviously I was enjoying myself and the beer. Â
Thumbs up Revolution!
I'm a vegan, and for my birthday lunch I wanted somewhere that could accommodate my meat eating family as well as myself. This place looked cute from their site, and I love that they have vegetarian/ vegan options. Also, all their house beers are Vegan, with the exception of the Milk Stout.
I had their "Tofu Revolution" Sandwich with Fries. I love spicy food, so I thought this sandwich was awesome! Other people that tried it thought it was bit too spicy, but I didn't notice because I'm used to eating spicy food. It was delicious. It was 2 slices of smoked tofu, black bean relish, a plantain, pickle & spicy mustard. Yum!
I ordered their "Cross of Gold" golden ale. I'm not a beer snob, so I couldn't' tell you anything technical about it, but it was a delicious beer. :)
My family of 9 all kept giving me thumbs up on my choice and saying "This is sooo good"... so no complaints from any of us.
I can't wait to go back and try other options. Would recommend this to anyone interested in really good pub food and beer. Fun atmosphere, love that they have veggie options.
This place has it all. Amazing food, fresh beer and a funky cool vibe.
This is mine and my boyfriend's favorite spot I Logan square.
I have never had anything from here that I didn't love. The bacon popcorn and the pretzel are our favorite snacks with beer!
I always feel like I need a nap after we leave here. Heavy food and heavy beer.
But it's a happy nap!
The drawbacks, it gets really LOUD and makes it hard to converse. Sometimes the waitstaff is aloof but sometimes they bring it! Â The food and beer are worth it. I would give it 4.5 stars
It is only customary to rank a major city of its prominency by going to their local breweries and just drowning yourself in their wheat goodness. Revolution brewing has, wow, kept me wanting me to come back and have some more!
Only did I find out that during my second visit that this place is just 3 years young! I couldn't care for the food much...though I did have their duck confit salad, bacon fat popcorn, pretzels and other stuff. Yes, the food was great but beer beer beer!!
I have had 6 or so drinks of theirs thus far. I know it's on a cycle depending on the seasons, so just as a safe bet, grab whatever you want. They're all great and I have nothing to complain about. Had their rose beer, IPA and some other things.
Just a note: Order your drinks in increasing alcohol content. Otherwise, you won't be able to taste the alcohol and flavors. Yes, your tastebuds get numb over time. Hence, don't drink much when you go out to fancy places!
Our favorite date night spot in the city so far. We love coming here no matter how long  the wait is. Last time we stopped in we had an hour wait and we decided to try out the mirco brews and some whiskey. We loved how the bartenders gave us a little beer knowledge and gave us what would best suit our taste buds. Now the food, Amazing. I had the gouda grilled chicken sandwhich. Amazing. My fiance had the burger, and he was easily head over heels for it. Try it, but no time limit on your visit here, you will not get in and out in under an hour or two :)
Review Source:I went here with my partner on Valentine's Day. I'd been here once before in June or July of 2012 and had a good time as well. We each ordered drinks and shared a cheeseboard. He ordered a steak and I had the tofu revolution burger. They had a prix fixe dessert menu that we didn't try. I'd definitely recommend this place. The drinks are great, it has nice ambience and we had a good time.
Review Source:This place was a great choice for a night out after a long terrible day at work. Had to wait for a table for around 45 min so they offered for us to go upstairs to the bar to have a drink. They had a good selection of drinks on top of the whole micro-brewery thIng. When they sat us, we ordered the cheese board which was fantastic and split some wings, fries, and the goat cheeses potato pizza. This was way too much food we were stuffed but it was amazing. The menu was small but the options all sounded really good. We also loved the atmosphere- lots of brick, nice staff, and a beautiful unique old building. Highly recommend!!
Review Source:Fistmas for Christmas! Fistmas for Christmas! Fistmas for Christmas!
This was my mantra when finding out that some buddies were going to celebrate an ugly sweater/holiday/birthday party at this location. My virginal taste buds for Fistmas were popped at a suburban hot spot that I tend to frequent. After tasting this unknown-to-me-at-the-time delectable delight of brew goodness Revolution was a place that was bookmarked as "need to get here."
A party with buds or not I was determined. Finding out that an event was taking place at Revolution made the want to be here all the more better. At least that is what I tell myself. Â Maybe it really allows me to hide any alcoholic/ism tendencies?!
We made our way to the watering hole and found rock star metered parking. Upstairs and downstairs was packed. The reserved seating upstairs by the gang provided ample seating and allowed everyone to get up and mingle. The two servers were attentive and kept the hops...well hopping! Â
All the stars seemed to be aligned just right. Â But alas Fistmas 'twas not to be had this wintry cold night. Â Fistmas was all gone. Â Fistmas was dry for the night and only available until next season. Our server kindly informed me that the production of Fistmas this season was considerably increased from last and sold out in record time. I was easily redirected to the vast list of all the other productions of Revolution and found my want easily quenched.
Revolution makes the choices easy by listing taste palettes, abv%'s, and harmonizing notes of 'loveliness' for each of their production brews. Food options were had and a burger, pretzel, other lovely eats were shared among my table. My Murphy Brown holiday top and Revolution ale will go down in the books. I look forward to next season and keep my mantra until next season. Â Fistmas for Christmas!
I was pretty impressed with this place. Not only did I find a parking spot right across the street, but like I said in my tip, this place has some of the best (if not THE best) beer cheese ale soup I've ever had. Not to mention, the huge soft pretzel that came with it was surprisingly moist and very fresh. I was SO impressed. I want another one right now.
The space is pretty neat, with the huge bar in the middle being the focus. The lighting fixture above the hostess' stand is made from old beer bottles, and I want it for my dining room. It's awesome.
The waitress was very nice, very knowledgeable, and attentive. Husband loved the beer.
We both left here very happy.
Oh, Revolution Brewing Co... You had me at delicious IPA
Great place to enjoy a very tasty IPA and grub. We had the Artisanal cheeses which were, believe or not, very delicious. The different textures and flavors really stood out and came together very well. I know what you're thinking... cheese goes better with wine, but let me tell you that beer goes better with cheese. Â
I really enjoy my time at this place. Service, crowd, and atmosphere are good without the dbag factor.
Cannot get enough.
I first came here about a month after Revolution opened and was very underwhelmed since their beer selection consisted of only six beers, four of which were out of stock. Â The food left something to be desired as well.
I've recently moved within walking distance of the place and decided to give it another go. Â Since they've opened their second brewery location, their selection is top and I feel like their beer quality has improved quite a bit also. Â There are new styles on the list every time I visit. Â As far as the food goes, they have really solid burgers and pulled pork, and I've heard great things about their pizzas as well. Â I'd live here if I could.
Revolution. Finally, a brewpub who cares about their food just as much as the beer.
Ambiance: Revolution feels like a great brew pub. Dark panelled wood, with a island bar front and center. The place is always packed, so drinks from the bar is always a little long in making its way to the table.
Service: I wish I had gotten the name of our waitress. She was a sassy, attentive, and honestly the best waitress I've ever had. I wanted to give her more business. I wanted to buy her a beer. I wanted to be her friend. Then I realize that those thoughts are slightly creepy, so I just gave her a big tip instead.
Food: This was actually kind of a let down for me. I got the chicken and waffles, which I guess is a popular dish for them. The chicken was nice and crispy, the waffle golden and fluffy, the salsa nicely tangy, but it just seemed like there was something missing. The salsa wasn't saucy enough and had a lot of string onions to pick through. My dish was decent, but not the best.
Luckily, I went with a group of friends that night and had plenty of friend-dishes to sample from. A particular favorite was the Smoke Stack - pulled pork, Italian sausage, bacon, pepp, and smoked tomato. There were six splitting the pizza as an appetizer and trust me, it was hard to share.
However, the winner of the day was definitely the Flemish BeefStew. (Yeah, that's not a sentence I'd ever thought I'd type either.) But the beef was perfectly cooked and shredded, mixed in under garlic mashed potatoes that were smooth and creamy. Definitely the perfect dish to eat after being stuck in the cold for a couple of hours.
Beer: I went in with the intention of trying a few beers, but I started with the Coup D'etat and it was so good that I just kept drinking it. It was light and fruity and slight carbonated (no surprise, it's a saison) but oddly refreshing after the heavy meals shared around the table.
All in all, Revolution is a solid place.
With the explosion of breweries in the Chicago area of late Revolution has done their fare share to not only up the bar, but put Chicago on the map for craft beer and I owe them a better review than my lackluster first attempt.
I first fell in love with Revolution when my lips first met Anti-Hero IPA, from then on it's be quite the love affair that has only gotten stronger with time. Every time I return there are more beers I have not tried and delicious food that's never been in my belly.
If you plan on eating at Revolution, get here early or be prepared to wait. If you do have to wait, hit up the bar and grab a delicious brew and hang out in the front area. there are a few pub tables and a small sitting area or you can stand near the bar. The bartenders are great and very attentive to everyone even those standing a few feet away.
The food - Delicious. A must try is the beer cheese soup. It's not too heavy so you won't get filled up before your meal and not bitter, it's amazing. I've had a couple of their sandwiches and burgers. The burgers are always cooked right and nice and juicy. I have not had anything to eat that I did not care for and everyone who has joined me has felt the same.
The Beer - Ah yes, it is a brewery after all. Any Chicagoan who has not tried a revolution beer... well we won't get into that. Revolution is one of the places in Chicago that's making Chicago a craft beer drinker's destination. They started off with a great lineup and have only gotten better and more creative as they've grown up. The Eugene porter is my favorite. The Bean Gene is even better. They rotate their beers according to seasons and availability. Some times they have limited samplings so be sure to check their web site before you stop in.
I can't say enough good things about Revolution Brewpub. Please try it if you have not!
wins the EZL award for best brewpub in the city:
Fantastic in house beers. I miss the smoked beer they had one year (smoked hops, would have gone great with some BBQ).
the polenta fries are excellent, the bacon popcorn with cheese on it is inspired, and their flatbreads/pizza are crisp and topping heavy.
Well well well Chicago... thy can make le brew very niiiice :)
Dropped in here while on a journey through chi-town with a brew-friendly bud. They have their own neat brewery onsite and locally in the city (from what I learned). The selection of beers were great you have to try their Saison.. I can't even pronounce that bad boy - something like d' yada yada, just ask them, they'll know!
We snagged the fried sweet potato patty's to start and they were pretty darn tasty. A nice way to switch it up away from the string cut version, plus they had a cool sauce pairing. We then moved on to the hombre burger which was not bad. It brought 6 on the spicy scale of 10, but the burger was definitely a large portion - kudos on the bang for buck factor.
The place packed a solid crown and I'd definitely come back with a larger group of people. We didn't get a chance to check out the second floor, but I have heard the large fists are plastered all over the walls.
I love the vegan/vegetarian brunch options at Revolution. Â Perfect for a heart healthy start for the day. Â They even have an NA German beer for me as we'll as terrific Dark Matter Coffee.
So, not everything at Revolution is about the meats!
I love the style, the service and the variety of menu options.
I highly recommend Revolution, but be prepared for a wait regardless of your arrival time.
Street parking is available, but I suggest using the Blue Line.
Went here for my husband's company holiday party. I am not much of a beer fan, so I was very happy that it was not the only thing we could drink....hello vodka, so we meet again.
We mingled for a bit with everyone and then a guy came and said he was going to give a tour of the brewery. Let me tell you, if you have the option...skip the tour. No amount of vodka (or beer) will make that tour worth your time. I understand that he has probably given that exact tour 1000 times, but it was brand new to me...show some excitement. Not only did he seem bored but the amount of ummms and so yeahs...just made him seem not very knowledgeable about what he was talking about.
The tour finally ended and we got back to the party. The food came out and it was decent for being buffet style. Different kinds of pizzas, mini burgers and some bread pudding. Wasn't too impressed with the food, but it hit the spot. We definitely had a great time at the party, but it was a fun crowd of coworkers that we would have fun with anywhere we went. I think it's a decent setting for a private party, but they could definitely step it up with more exciting food, perhaps an extra bartender or two so the wait at the bar was not so long and a more knowledgeable tour guide.
I was hoping to check off Revolution Brewery on my list of brew tours, but sadly the tour was full. Not wanting to waste a trip to Chicago, we found out that the brewpub was only a couple of miles away. It was 6pm on a Saturday and pretty crowded already. Our wait time was 45 minutes, but that doesn't matter when you have beer awaiting you at the bar.
The one thing I don't like about this place is that the bar is in the middle of the restaurant. It does stand as a focal point, but makes it difficult and awkward to stand and drink a beer because you're standing either near the entrance, behind people sitting at tables eating meals, or in the walkway area next to the wall where everyone is passing by. Luckily, two seats at the bar freed up and we were able to sit and enjoy a beer while waiting for a table.
I started out with the Anit-hero IPA, which I've had once before. It is incredibly drinkable and not at all overly-hoppy, but maybe I've just become so accustomed to drinking IPAs now? My bf had Rise, a heavy stout that is smooth in flavor. Finally our table was ready and it's mealtime.
I had the Workingman burger, which comes with cheddar, bacon (duh), and beer onions. I'm not usually someone who likes onions, but they were actually a nice addition to the burger. They were caramelized and had hints of beer in it. My burger came with a side of fries that were absolutely divine. Hand-cut fries will always win my heart. My bf had the Smokehouse burger which comes with peper jack cheese and pulled pork. Now that's a burger. They were a little pricey ($11, $13) but they were good, so I can't complain too much.
Okay, back to the beer. Bf had the Winter Saison that was good, but tasted like it was high on alchol content. I mean they're all up there, but this one just TASTED like it. I had the Coup D'Etat, also a saison, but a French style. This one was actually higher in alcohol than the winter, but tasted better and was more drinkable. He also had the Iron Fist which has four different hops in it (delish) and a sampling of the Berry Brown. Gross. This one was gross. It was overwhelmingly fruity, and had a brown aftertaste, if that makes sense. I had one sip and said "good luck" as he tried to finish it. It's like 9% ABV and it tasted like it.
There are some beers that they ran out of, so I would love to come back and try some more. Overall, Revolution is cool. Has a great vibe and plays great music (I was head bopping throughout my meal). Make sure you pay it a visit!
The beers are definitely the greatest offering here. They have a pretty vast selection, considering what a small operation it is, and it seems like the brewers really enjoy exploring different flavors and processes and then letting people try out what they've come up with.
But, of course, the food is really pretty good, and the portions fantastic. As far as appetizers go, the Bacon Fat Popcorn is overrated, in my opinion. The sides are all good, too; my favorites are the mashed potatoes, as well as the potato salad.
With the main course, I've pretty much stuck to burgers. The Hombre Burger is The Business, as far as I'm concerned, though I've tried the Workingman, Smokehouse, Forest and Farm. The Corned Beef Reuben's not really worth your time.
I know a lot of people say this place is over rated. They're wrong.
Let me start by saying that yes, this place is always packed at night. I've come many times with different people, all of them not wanting to wait out the 45-90 minute wait. I finally came with someone who didn't give a shit!
We stood by the bar along the wall while waiting for our seat. Our wait time was 45 minutes and we decided that if a spot opened up at the bar we'd just sit there. We wound up taking some seats at the bar, shortly after we were told our table was ready. We just sat at the bar. Faster booze know what I'm sayin'?
So the whole night we were able to try about 8 of their beers, maybe more. We each just ordered a different from the other every time. What a flavorful night. All were very good I might add! I can't remember their names, but if I had a menu of what was on tap that night, I'd be able to tell you my favorites.
For eats, we got the pretzel with the beer cheese dip. !!!##@#! WOW. In Wisconsin, the brewery in my hometown does a great beer cheese soup I often long for. This helped me out. A lot. The presentation was even nice.
We shared a spicy burger. DAMN that was good! I can't remember the name of that either but...it was spicy. And I love spicy. We each got our own sides. I the mashed potatoes and my lady friend side salad. Even the side salad was a little fancy. Any place that can make a  side salad a little fancy gets an A in my book. They do their mashed potatoes right, let me tell you. So savory. They were, in a word, perfect.
The bar is absolutely beautiful. The lighting is perfect. I like how they have a little waiting area. Presentation gets an all around two thumbs up.
It seems we are all spoiled by good craft beer these days and revolution is another reason the standards for gastropubs and breweries are going up and up. Â The beer was good - and the bartenders very nice and attentive. Â We went on a saturday afternoon and sat at the bar - there was no wait and the crowd was very mixed and energetic. Â I can't imagine how much they spent making that place, but everything there is just gorgeous to look at. Â The bar even had intricate carvings!
We got there just before the brunch cut off time so I ordered the 'egg in a hole' and my other half got the pulled pork. Â The egg dish was good - however they had some of their cheese soup on the plate and it made me wish I had just ordered the soup. Â It was really really good - next time I'm just gonna order soup. Â We also got the mussels in the apple sauce AMAZING.
I live very close so I'll be heading back soon.
I had been wanting to try Revolution for a while and I finally made a Sunday afternoon visit with the family, who had all been there before. It was a bit crowded (of course, the weekend) but the waiting area is a great people watching spot that isn't too stuffy and the wait time was not long at all. I ordered the fish and chips, along with numerous craft beers. I get fish and chips basically everywhere I go and these did not disappoint. You get a good sized portion of fish and Revolution is known for great fries. I have been back multiple times since.
Great atmosphere and friendly staff. As long as it's not late on a Friday or Saturday night, Revolution is appropriate for families. I am not sure why Diana R. was surprised to see a baby... at a restaurant... on a Wednesday night. The crowds I've seen have been a nice mix of local Logan's and yes, really uncool young professional with jobs and babies! ::gasp:: Â They don't exactly have dancing animatronic teddy bears, so don't be scared off if you aren't a kids person. Â a Must visit for any local beer lover
The King is Dead
Revo used to have the best beer in town, when the beer was brewed at the brewpub. Â Fresh, tasty, hoppy beers were guaranteed on every visit. Â Ant-hero, Iron Fist, Eugene, Rise. Â these were the best beers in chicago.
then they opened the big brewery. Â and started to brew these beers there instead. Â they are still ok, but ok is not great. Â and you can get the ok big brewery versions of these beers all over town - no more need to come to the pub. Â unless its for the food. Â which can be excellent.
very sad that the opening of the brewery led to the demise of our best brewpub. Â it was a great run for a few years while it lasted.
the king is gone but not forgotten.
After passing this place a million and a half times and seeing Revolution beers at bars, but never trying one, Â a friend invited me here for drinks and I thought, "Yes, it is time."
We were seated upstairs where I was surprised to find a table near us with a baby in tow. I understand it's a restaurant as well as a brewery, but it was still interesting on a Wednesday night. There were also tons of "young professionals" around. I honestly expected a "cooler" crowd. Maybe that's downstairs.
Anyway, ordered a burger with fries and Wegene porter (not Eugene, I promise...wegene, though it might be spelled incorrectly). Burger was pretty good, but could have done with an egg on it. I'll take responsibility for not ordering an egg on it. If I order a burger there again I'll definitely get an egg on it. Egg. Not a beer connoisseur by any stretch, but I do like to try new beers and enjoyed the sweet/carameliness of the porter I had that night.
tl;dr I'll be back to try more beers, am willing to order something else from the food menu though it's not what's bringing me back. I hope I get to sit downstairs next time...seems like cooler vibes!
P.S. friend totally saw a girl steal a menu...why?
I've been to Rev several times, each time because a friend invites me. It's never my idea, because honestly, this place kind of sucks. I don't know why people like it. I have repeatedly had just atrocious service here. The kind of service where you start to wonder if you even have a server.
The beers are good. I've only tried the food once, it was some seafood (I think swordfish?), and it was really not great, very dry, stringy, and flavorless.
Good beer is not enough to make me put up with the service. You'll wait, wait, wait some more, then finally someone will walk by, and you'll flag them down and ask them to send over your server, then you'll wait some more, and some more, then right when you're about to walk out, someone comes to your table. They would sell a lot more drinks if the servers were more attentive.
Avoid if possible.
The stars are for the food, otherwise fuck this place.
I continue to go here because I am addicted to their fries, mashed potatoes, and brunch but their staff continues to disappoint me. The last few times I've been there they've screwed up my order because the waitress didn't write anything down and ordered the wrong thing, and I've also been here and sat at a table for 15 minutes without being acknowledged, and I once sat at the bar with my boyfriend for 20 minutes while one of the bartenders walked around and glared angrily in the distance and ignored us. It was bizarre and we ended up going elsewhere because it was that much of a joke. Additionally, I once had a waiter (Ron) sigh/roll his eyes when I said "no thanks" to getting a beer. It was awkward and hilarious.
Damn this place!
I had some sort of wings. They tasted pretty damn good. I had some beer with the word "Gold" in it, I think. It was good. Â I liked. Check it out.
The waitress was a beeyotch, with the eye rolling and shit when none of us wanted to order an entree. Are you serious? We still left the !@#&*! a +20% tip. I don't know why. We should have left her a buck.
Mad Cow Stout. Â Let me type that again for you: MAD COW STOUT. Â It is a milk stout that is one of the most delicious beers I have ever sipped upon. Â This divine elixir is apparently brewed with lactose which makes it a milk beer I guess. Â All I know is that I have never experienced a brew that was as silky smooth on my tongue as this stuff. Â Malty and sweet this stuff is dangerous because my friend and I wanted to sit there all day and drink the stuff. Â It is ten percent ABV and comes in a little snifter, but there is not limit to how many snifters you can order so don't worry. Â
we didn't eat the food, but the beer is great. Â I also tried a double IPA and a golden ale which were awesome. Â This is a fun place that was packed to the brim with people which I love. Â No reason to be by yourself when you can be packed into a fun joint with others who enjoy beer. Â
Go, drink and and fun.
Came here with a group of 9 this past Saturday, and we were seating in 45 minutes despite the 1.5 hour estimation given to us. (To be fair, a member of our group put in our names at 7 and they told us 2 hours. Â We came at 8:15 and were told they already called our names so we had to start the list over again.)
I love the interior of this place - it feels warm and welcoming. Â We sat upstairs and I promtpy told my BF that I wanted that kind of ceiling in the library of our future mansion :)
Food was decent - I got the Workingman Burger and BF got the Hombre Burger but with chicken instead. Â Portions were huge so I had dinner for the next day also. Â I had a hard time deciding on the side for my burger since they all sounded so yummy - fries, cream cheese mashed potatoes, blue cheese potato salad. Â I was told by another member of our group that they change the menu often, which I love (except when you find something that's awesome and then it disappears). Â
The beers were EXCELLENT. Â I got the Bottom Up Whit and the Cross Gold? Â Bottom Up Whit was definitely the winner in my book. Â The entire meal food + beers was very reasonably priced.
For my first adventure into Logan Square, this place definitely hit the mark! Â I would like to go back for brunch sometime soon.
