We visited Rezaz on a Saturday with another couple for a 40th birthday celebration. Â We were seated at a comfy table with a bench and pillows on one side and chairs on the other. Â The decor was modern but cozy.
We ordered two appetizers - the mussels and calamari/shrimp. Â The fellas seemed to enjoy the mussels, and I thought the calamari and shrimp were excellent with an Asian flair. Â For dinner, we got the Leitao Assado (suckling pig), Taleggio Walnut Ravioli, Braised Rabbit Cacciatorre and Braised Lamb Shank. Â We each tried the others', and the lamb was the clear standout with a smoky, almost gamy flavor. Â The rabbit was good, but it had too much sauce, and it was a lot of work to pick out the rabbit bones. Â The pork was the second best dish and was moist and tender. The worst of all of them was the ravioli; the ravioli itself was just okay, but the sauteed greens it came with tasted like bland spinach. Â We all agreed some vinegar or something with tang would've made all the difference.
For dessert, we tried the Reese's Bomb cake, which was rich and divine, and a sample of the cookies, which were solid, but nothing to write home about.
All in all, a very good meal with attentive, friendly service. Â it's not a must-return place, but I'd definitely stop in again if I found myself in Biltmore Village.
We had a perfect;y fine dinner here last night, but each dish, while hard to fault, seemed to just fall a bit short: A pistachio bisque which didn't taste of pistachios, but rather like a good split pea soup. A complicated flatbread with duck on it that was a bit chewy and didn't taste particularly of duck. Walnut raviolis which *did* taste of walnut, but which were decidedly al dente. A complicated duck, gnocchi and salad dish where the gnocchi were glutinous lumps in the midst of a very nice sauce. Dessert was a scoop of ice cream  and a scoop of gelato. Both were somewhat too sweet.
As I said, nothing was bad, but nothing was great, either.
Four of us had a great meal at Rezaz.  Wonderfully tasty and beautifully plated food with really great service.  My wife and I, who have dined at Michelin 3-star restaurants rated it 5 stars, given the overall quality, service, atmosphere, and price.  The other two said they wouldn't give a grade of 5 unless without  tablecloths, candles, and flowers on the table. But these star-stingy diners rated it 4.
The special was lamb 2-ways, with mid-east spiced vegetables.Superb.  Another special was red snapper with a spinach pie that was excellent.  One of us ordered steak, and said it was perfect.
The grilled Caesar salad was great, and the felafel appetizer (of which felafels were only a small part) was a beautiful plate.
Fantastic! We're from Atlanta and just visiting for the weekend. We went a little all over the menu but it was all fantastic. I got the falafel which was great. Mom got their special, the veal stew and it was so tasty. Dad got the scallop and crab cake salad. The crabcakes were really crispy on the outside but very moist on the inside. I highly recommend this place!
Review Source:This place came as a recommendation from the staff at the place where we were staying. The food is definitely not what I think of when I think Mediterranean; however, it was still very good. We tried the mahi mahi special and the duck. The dishes were presented very well and the servers did not let your water get below half a glass. Our server was very descriptive and took his time explaining items on the menu to us. Great experience!
Review Source:Two reviews in one here -
Food: Â Pretty awesome. Â Flavorful stuff. Â Steak special that I got was well executed, but could have done with a little more sear to give it some crispiness on the outside. Â Med-rare made it a little floppy, for lack of a better term, and a good char would have given it a better texture. Â Sides were fantastic, caesar salad was excellent.
Service: Â 2nd to none. Â If you want to feel like you're somebody special, go eat here. Â We were attended to by no fewer than 4 different people throughout the course of our meal, and every last one of them was very friendly, very knowledgeable, and very good at their job. Â
Renee, the bartender, was the friendliest I've ever met. Â
You will most certainly not be disappointed here. Â Can be a little on the steep end if you're not paying attention to what you're doing, but worth it.
Ambiance is trendy comfortable. Room has long shared booth bench along a brick wall and tables along that can be combined or set as a deuce. Although nicely decorated, don't expect intimate dining experience as tables are to close and open for that.
Staff was friendly from time of walk-in to time we left. Waitress was excellent and attentive to the table. She was knowledgeable about the dishes and made good suggestions based on menu.
Menu was limited, but there were enough choices for any palate. They offer a small or regular size for many entrees, with a couple dollars difference.  two senior females at a table next to us ordered small portions of the paella and  another dish and we overheard them saying they could have ordered two, so don't go there if you have any appetite. Dinner for 2 with 3 wines and 1 dessert was about $50.00 per person.
The mussels appetizer was good, although for me the mussels were too small. The shrimp and calamari in an Asian type style was also good. The shrimp were cooked just right and the calamari soft and good. The lamb shank was cooked well but the sauce was dull and could have used a kick.we also tried the NC trout and was also good. The accompanying potatoes benye, spinach  and eggplant roulade was also good. Â
Having said all that goodness, I only gave it 3stars because I found the dishes uninspired and not memorable. I grew up in the restaurant business, and began dining out in fine restaurants at 5 so perhaps I'm more critical, but my wife didn't and agrees with the assessment.
So, if you want a good.......not great meal, this can be a choice. It wouldn't be on my list for future visits.
Fabulous meal and great service! Â Our server, Mark, was knowledgeable and attentive without being overbearing. My husband LOVED the lamb shank and I thoroughly enjoyed the trout. Â Totally enjoyed the hummus plate and especially the muhammara - yum! Will look forward to going back when we are in Asheville again.
Review Source:My wife and I were in Asheville for two days on vacation. We used Yelp to find some good restaurants for dinner both nights. Rezaz was one of them.
The atmosphere in Rezaz is fantastic. Modern and intimate. They do a good job of making set of seats seem private even with lots of tables crammed in. The bar was attractive, and it was really pleasant.
The food was quite good, but nothing to write home about. We started with calamari and grilled salad. The grilled salad was interesting, but not super tasty and the calamari, while good quality, was drenched in so much sugar that it was not to our tastes.
For entrees we had the scallops and the lamb shank. Both were good, but didn't knock our socks off. This plus two glasses of wine was over $80, which wasn't outrageous but was a lot for not being highly satisfied.
Amazing!!! Â You must try Rezaz in the Biltmore Village area. Â Excellent service, atmosphere, and tremendous food. Â Stopped in around 6pm on a Saturday evening with no reservations afte a full day touring the Biltmore Estate. Â The only seats available were at the bar. Â It was perfect!!! Â The bar stools were comfy and they had purse hooks. Â I cannot say enough about Bonnie, our server and the bartender. Â She was warm, friendly, and provided excellent service. Â Don't miss the Calamari and Shrimp appetizer. Â I had the Filet, which just melted in my mouth. Â For dessert we chose the Baklava with Cinnamon gelato. Â Yum! Â Although you should probably share it, the mix of sweet, crunchy and creamy gelato will make you want to eat it ALL. Â Definitely have a meal or two at Rezaz. Â You will not be disappointed.
Review Source:As I reported a couple of years ago, this is a must return visit. Â And sure enough, on my next visit to Asheville, I returned here.
Again, it was excellent, but two demerits cause a star deduction from 5 to 4 stars.
1. We dined later in the evening, arriving at 8:45, and our waiter served us bread that had obviously been pre-cut, several hours previously, so it was hard.
2. Our server took smoking breaks throughout the evening, and he reeked of cigarette smoke when he approached our table---obviously not a pleasant accompaniement to fine food and otherwise positive dining experience.
Half bottle of wines are available, and that's a nice touch.
Bottom line: a really fine restaurant, though I'll return to other favorites of mine in Asheville next time.
This little hidden gem and sophisticated dining experience. Â From the wood grilled caesar salad to the balsamic braised lamb shank it was a great dining experience.
I started my evening here at the bar where you enter the restaurant, but bartenders are also servers for folks at the table, so it took forever to get a drink order, so I got up and moved to the bar on the opposite side of the wall in the dining area and got great service.
Seated for dinner, all the food was great, but getting drink orders and eventually the check from the server took forever, but those were the only two instances where I was disappointed.
I would say this is in the 2nd (not top) tier of restaurants in AVL. Â Good, but not great hence the 4 stars.
Having eaten here three years ago and having had a great experience we were anticipating a similar experience but it was not to be. Â
Appetizers were the best part about the meal: crisp calamari/shrimp salad was great as was the  wood grilled caesar salads.
Our entree's however were disappointing as the Wahoo, braised lamb shank and seared red snapper were all overcooked and dry.
Waitstaff was professional and courteous and to be fair she did say the menu was only on its fourth day but still.
Seeing how we ended our weekend in Asheville at the Biltmore we decided to grab dinner nearby before heading home. Rezaz is one of the restaurants at the Biltmore Village which is located right across from the entrance to the estate. Wanting something different we decided to try out the Mediterranian cuisine at Rezaz.
The interior of the restaurant is charming, and there are some weird beaded curtain in the middle of the restaurant that kinda separate some tables. We got a seat towards the back of the restaurant alongside a giant cushioned bench that ran the length of all the tables. The miss' enjoyed being able to sit back on a cushion and pillow for a change, and it was an interesting little touch. The wines were definitely a bit on the pricey side but we found some decent stuff. I was a bit unhappy with my Reisling since I generally prefer a sweeter wine, but this happened to be a very dry one (a fact the waitress mentioned about fifteen minutes after I started drinking it.)
They happened to be having a "Biltmore Village Restaurant Week" promotion going where each person could snag an appetizer, entree and dessert for $30. I found the selection a bit lacking, especially after seeing what the local Charlotte restaurants offer for Queens Feast. The miss' opted for that while I decided to spoil myself with another duck dinner.
For an appetizer we split the gnochi, which was part of the Restaurant Week menu. The gonchi were served in a nice sauce along with braised pork cheek. The gnochi were very tasty and had a great texture to them. The pork cheek was definitely the star of the dish (in my book) since it was so melt in your mouth delicious. I only wish there were more gnochi included with the dish.
For dinner I ordered the duck confit ($18), and I was a bit underwhelmed by the dish. There was no sauce and little seasoning on the duck, so you got a pure meat taste. Not that it was bad, but I'm not one to say no to a little seasoning to improve upon the flavor of a dish. The duck was definitely one of the less gamey ones I've had, and while that was all well and good for the miss', I like gamey meat, so I missed having that taste present. The duck came with some roasted beet cubes and orange slices. The orange slices made up for the lack of sauce as pairing a bit of duck with a bite of the orange made a tasty combo. The beets were also good, and it was a treat to have them since we rarely make them at home. What really bothered me was the portions. The duck meat consisted of a duck leg and a little bit of attached meat, so to me it was a skimpy portion. Also, the beet cubes and orange slices should hardly constitute as sides since they were nowhere near filling. It was a very light dinner, and I don't feel that the price justified the portion served.
The miss' was much happier with her shrimp dish that was served with a pesto risotto. The shrimp were decent but the risotto was downright tastetacular! It had a light flavor of basil and garlic that infused all through the perfectly cooked risotto, and it was one of those few sides that really wow me more than the meat entree does. Man, I wish I had a bowl of that risotto right now!!!
For dessert we split the chocolate mousse cake, and it's a good thing we did split it because it was one heck of a rich dessert! The chocolate mousse cake was a chocolate lovers dream, and the chocolate flavor smashed you in the face. The richness of the dish made it filling, so it was probably good that I had a smaller dinner! The cake slice was served alongside a generous scoop of hazelnut gelato which was excellent on its own, but like 10x better when combined with the cake. This dessert was definitely a winner.
Rezaz is a very decent restaurant that I wouldn't mind going back to. Not everything was perfect, but other aspects of the meal more than made up for it and I enjoyed my meal in the end. Definitely worth a look if you're in the area.
It has been over a year since either of us had been to Rezaz, on Biltmore Avenue near Biltmore Village, and the menu has changed quite a bit. Â The dinner menu is now divided into four sections -- labeled one, two, three and four. Â One and two are appetizers or small plates and three and four are large plates or entrees. Â Seems rather odd, but what do I know?
I know do love the atmosphere at Rezaz. The deep red color on the dining room walls, with abstract art, Â reminds me of our living room in New Orleans, and the layout is perfect, with tables not too close yet set up so that the restaurant has a buzz, and the lighting is just right. Â The main part of the restaurant was almost full tonight, good business for a Wednesday. Â The location near the Biltmore House has to be a plus.
Our drinks (a Smirnoff vodka martini , $7.50, and a Jim Beam Manhattan, $7.75), up, Â were both a little watery. Â Don't you hate that? Â At least they were very cold and reasonably priced.
The calamari appetizer we used to always order has been replaced by a calamari and shrimp appetizer, with a sweet and sour glaze, cabbage, scallions and sesame seeds ($9) -- like it but I don't think it's an improvement over the former one. Â We also had deep-fried okra appetizer. Â It's done in the new style, breaded and fried long-wise and served with what was billed as remoulade sauce ($6). Â I liked it, but it's not quite up to the standards of fried okra at The Junction in the River Arts District.
I wanted beef tonight and, unfortunately, I took the advice of our waiter and ordered the braised beef brisket, essentially roast beef, with arrancini (sort of a fried risotta ball with mozzarella and shredded ox tail) and broccolini ($22). Our waiter otherwise was very good. However, I probably would have been a lot happier with the grilled filet mignon or the ribeye ($25 and $26, respectively). Â My wife had the duck confit ($18), which she thought was good.
With a total of two cocktails, three glasses of wine, one espresso and tax and tip, the total came to $128. Â Lunch is a far better bargain.
Enjoyable evening, but when I come back I'll make better choices, and probably I'll come back for lunch at a fraction of the price for dinner.
P.S. Amazing to realize that Rezaz has been here 10 years.  I remember when the location was a hardware store!  Rezaz is one of the restaurants that has made a difference in upscale dining in Asheville, but times change and there are now so many spots in the same category, from Cúrate to Fig to Table to Ruth's Chris to The Junction ... and the list goes on and on.
In my mind, Reza can be credited with bringing refined upscale gourmet food to the mainstream Asheville food scene. Â The modern gourmet food scene in Asheville took off after Rezaz opened up and set such a high bar, and it has improved steadily ever since. Â
Rezaz' menu is a foody's modern gourmet Mediterranean playground, with an abundance of salads, appetizers, and entrees to satisfy any pallet. Â A few recommendations include the Caesar salad (they briskly grill the head of romaine on a wood fire before serving), the Reza Mezze, the seared NC trout, seared scallops, and the balsamic braised lamb shank. Â
For a very special experience, try the chef's table, which is right next to the chef's "line" and offers a 5 course experience designed nightly. Â
Rezaz also has one of the best and best-priced wine lists in town. Â On my latest trip to Asheville, we feasted at 6 of the best restaurants in town and were impressed by Rezaz prices, categorically lower prices on the same bottles than other comparable restaurants in town.
Altogether a perfect restaurant and one I always visit when I'm in Asheville.
Sophisticated dining that stands out in a nicely decorated restaurant specializing in flavorful offerings in the foodie town of Asheville. Â This place distinguished itself from the very first course. Â The Wood Grilled Caesar Salad had thick lettuce wedges, planks of parmesan cheese and a chunk of crispy prosciutto, topped with nicely flavored dressing and served with bruschetta. Â The Young Arugula Salad had a good combination of strawberries, slightly toasted walnuts and... my favorite... goat cheese, made this selection a winner.
As for an appetizer, Â I had the Sweet Pea Gnocchi with a warm, gooey, slightly sweet center, topped with a balsamic dressing and peas. Â So rich, so tasty, and so proud that I ordered it.
The star of the evening was the paella which was packed with big pieces of seafood in a succulent sauce and a wallop of sour cream.  Both my wife and I thought it was superb.  My boys ordered the North African Lamb Shank which they enjoyed but hated the accompaniments of spicy chorizo and thick polenta fries.  I guess their taste buds  are too mainstream or too young to fully appreciate the powerful spices in each.  I did taste those items and I must say... the chorizo is something that one must prepare for and shouldn't approach unaware.
Water glasses were refilled almost immediately upon needing it by attentive staff who were friendly but not familiar and willing to offer up their opinion on menu items when asked --which I like very much. Â Wine selection was good and priced as you would expect at a dining establishment such as this (e.g. expensive).
My wife thought this was the best dining experience in town during our recent four day vacation. Â This place is quite good and shouldn't be missed. Â Also note when reading reviews on Asheville restaurants, many of them are excellent and justly deserve the high ratings they received. Â I assumed that the local Yelpers were just very kind... but no, they just have an embarrassment of riches when it comes to dining. Â How awesome is that?
My wife and I were in Asheville celebrating our 29th wedding anniversary and were staying in the Biltmore Village and had the good fortune on going to  the Rezaz for dinner our first night in town.  It was such a great surprise. The food was wonderful and the surroundings were terrific.  The restaurant is small but has a very nice feel . We enjoyed ourselves so much that we decided to return our last night in town and we were treated to a great surprise. The chef had secured a supply of Osso Bucca for some of his regular customers and we were able to order the same . I can say without a doubt it was one of the most enjoyable dinners we have ever had. Our server Bonnie was wonderful and took great care of us ----We look forward to a return to the Rezaz very soon --
Steve and donna
There are 2 sides to this place.
1 side is a wine bar / tapas place the other side is a restaurant - we went to the restaurant.
We sort of decided at the last minute to go here and it turns out that no reservations is a bad idea. Â We were offered a seat at the bar and we took it.
It's a pretty nice place so sitting at the bar was sort of like sitting at the kids table.
The food, however, make it worth it.
The portions were on the small side but not tiny
*NOT cheap - ~ $80 for 2 people.
I always thought of Rezaz as a fancy-shmancy, get dressed up and go on a date for your anniversary or Valentine's day kind of place. And at night it probably is. Â But my hubby and I went there for lunch a few days back and I was no longer afraid! Â The food is amazing, and very decently priced for lunch. Â Having just moved back to Asheville from Portland, OR, I was worried I would miss my dearly cherished mussels from a bar down the street (my husband was in love with their lamb burger too) but (and I hate to say it, Observatory) ...Rezaz has filled that need. Â It's right down the street and they have a delicious Seafood Catalonia with mussels, mahi mahi, and orzo. Â They also have a lamb burger - equally yum:) Â Don't fear the crisp white uniforms and long black aprons! - lunch at Rezaz is laid back, well priced, and reallllllly good.
Review Source:My wife and came for dinner as we had been to the bar and antipasto area before and it was incredible. Â We made point too get there slightly after 5:30PM on Sunday and we were one of the first as it opens at 5:30pm.
For starters we had the Calamari and it was cooked to perfection. Â a Light batter and no chewy rubber band quality Along with it there came an amazing chopped salad with a tangy saucy with flavors I have never had before..
My wife had their duck cooked medium well with a light gravy and it too was cooked just right and it was tender and juicy.
I had their Paella and it was mind blowing!. Â It was the best I ever had and the shrimp,, mussels, and other seafood were perfectly matched with the flavored rice and spices
We shared a chocolate torte which met all our expectations.
Allen was our server and he was knowledgeable, pleasant  and served us with professionalism beyond his years.
The coffee was great so I can say we will be back to have Chef/ owner Reza Setayesh's specialty South African lamb.
We can hardly wait!
We came here after a nice afternoon at chimney rock. Service is fantastic. Soup to start: African lentil and butternut squash, perfect. Followed by the Calamari with shrimp, and Rezaz mezze , very nice, calamari is a large portion.
The mains were really nice, the duck confit with mushroom risotto was excellent and the braised brisket was very large and fantastic.
Great service, excellent food, a highlight of our trip to Asheville...
Try the gelato!
Gary and I visited Rezaz during a trip back East. We found this place isted in the AAA tourbook with 3 diamonds (most places were 2 or 1 diamonds). We had no clue about where to go in Asheviille. It certainly lived up to its rating. We loved everything about Rezaz. Comfortable, quiet and upscale ambiance, surrouned by artwork and housed in an historic building.
A host seated us in one of a few cozy rooms. The server was very attentive and informed. We ended up with a yummy appetizer and two entrees. The appetizer was a trio plate with baba ghanouj, hummous and a terrific original blend of nuts and something orange (Can't recall the ingredients now), served with warm, very good quality pita bread. A vegetarian could make a light meal out of that, if desired. We also got thinly sliced bread served with olive oil.
I dined on the chicken tagine, a chicken, couscous blend with nuts and a delicious sauce. It was perfectly prepared--both texture and tastes. Gary ogt the Middel Eastern Meatballs (not sure of its name), a lamb meatball with some hint of IItalian flavors and sauce. I also had a tea with a hint of cinnamon. I did not taste much cinnamon, however.
Parking is a bit challenging in this area, the Biltmore shopping area. We parked north of the railroad tracks, in an office complex that was mostly vacant, and walked back across the tracks.
If you want a comfortable and a bit uipscale lunch or dinner, definitely beelinej for this place! Great choices. I have a feeling that whatever you get, it will be just as fantastic! (If I have any typos, I am typing on a miniscule screen--can hardly read it!!)
Outstanding.
After a horrid experience at a bar around the corner, we launched ourselves into Rezaz and sat at the bar. Cappuccino, eclair, and a glass of port. Wonderful ambiance. We watched two workers delicately assemble entrees for the other diners. The menu looked amazing. This is a really upscale place. The Greek and Mediterranean references may be misleading to you - this isn't your walk-up Gyro stand. Classy place. Tapas style dining.
Can i return  my crappy meal at the other place and get a wonderful dinner here?
Someone at our B & B recommended this restaurant to us and everyone staying there. We had an excellent meal and, based on the conversation the next morning at breakfast, everyone else who went there also had a nice meal.
As others have mentioned, the service was prompt, professional, and attentive but not intrusive. Nice decor and ambiance.
We started with the arugula salad and the Moroccan spiced crab cakes. Our entrees were both specials...the lamb and the striped bass special served over harictots vert and risotto. We also had a had a half bottle of Rioja (why don't more restaurants have half bottles on the menu???). All of the food was very good and our bill was only $85.
My husband and I are visiting from Portland, Or and were taken here by his sister to celebrate his 40th birthday. It is their favorite restaurant and we thought the food was excellent! I would definitely want to return to this restaurant again. We each ordered something different, including both specials (ribeye and grouper), scallops and the 7-hour lamb. We also had the calamari, 2 different salads, and the butternut squash ravioli. Everything was excellent with the exception of the ravioli....it seemed a little undercooked although I would probably order it again and chalk this experience up to a one-time error in cooking. Wine list was good....we had a bottle of red and abottle of white (can't remember what exactly as I didn't  do the ordering) and they were both perfect with our meals.
The ambiance of the restaurant is exactly what we are used to and experience in Portland. Open atmosphere, but not too loud or too close to your neighbor. It was very busy for a Tuesday night and we were glad to have reservations.
Service was perfect. Just the right amount of attention. We didn't want for anything yet he wasn't hovering.
Overall just a wonderful evening and hope we get back again some day.
We (Wife and I) had the perfect experience at Rezaz, going on a tip from a local in Asheville who was helping us have a romantic evening. We didn't make reservations, went on a whim, and came away with the best seat in the house.
The hostess informed us that the wait was almost 2hrs. unless we were interested in a table that "could get a little noisy...it's in the kitchen." We said, "What the hell? It'll be an experience." We were right.
We were seated in one of two tables in the kitchen, right down the line, where prep, sous, and chef were working feverishly, in an almost synchronized dance of cooking. It was fascinating to watch and to smell and to listen.
The food was perfect. Sweetbreads - best I've ever had, hands down. I had lamb chops for dinner- perfectly prepared, perfectly presented, and perfect tasting. Wine list...ditto - perfect.
I'm sure we'll drive 2 hrs. to eat at Rezaz again - it's a reason to go to the Asheville. And, we later learned, if you want the best seat in the house, you should make reservations ...a couple of months in advance! We got so lucky and we're happy we did. Thanks Chef Setayesh and your perfect staff.
Rezaz is the best restaurant in Biltmore Village. You needn't look any further for ambience, service and sumptuous flavors.
The prices for lunch are quite unreal. For around $10 you can be treated to some of the best flavors outside of downtown Asheville.
My favorite lunch dish is the Duck. I have not eaten duck this good anywhere in the surrounding area. It was perfectly tender and full of flavor...not too gamey. If I remember correctly it was served on a sort of polenta or rice pilaf. Delicious.
Their wine list is excellent and well-priced.
I would recommend this place to anyone looking for fine dining in Biltmore Village. Its no-pressure atmosphere and casual setting make it accessible to everyone.
After a quick look at the menus, my boyfriend and I decided to sit on the Rezaz (nicer sit-down side) of the restaurant. We were seated quickly by the bar. The decor was about what I'd expected. The bar was pretty cool looking, with neat blue shaded lights and a coral reef-ish piece along the back wall.
The menu was so full of lovely-sounding dishes that it took us a while to order, but we settled on the chef's special. The salad's blue cheese was blue-cheesy perfection and the bacon vinaigrette was yummy. The fillet mignon was slightly undercooked for how we ordered it, but was sooo tasty we didn't mind! The chocolate mouse bar was nice at the end, but nothing to write home about.
We ran into a few things while we were there which I wouldn't normally care about, but when the bill's $80...the experience should measure up to the food. The keg of Pisgah pale exploded on them, so we had to go with a 2nd choice in beer. The chairs all rocked, so either they or the floor were uneven. I'll also say that they may need to think about getting some auto-flush toilets...or at least make the stall doors close...ick. Also, the credit card machine was down (not their fault, no big deal, just another thing). The waitstaff handled everything capably, but the way the restaurant was laid out, i often saw them scurrying to and from the loud kitchen and peering across the place at our glasses or dishes, which left me feeling a bit watched or rushed.
I just think that while the food was  on par for the type of restaurant Rezaz is aiming for, the experience left a bit to be desired.
Rezaz has consistent, excellent Mediterranean food for an affordable price. Â I had the Scottish Salmon which was cooked perfectly, and the sauce was vey well balanced and flavored. I sat at the bar since the restaurant was very busy and the bar was empty. Â The staff are attentive and friendly, and I ended my meal with a yummy tiramisu!!!!!!!!! Â It was a perfect blend of cocoa, ladyfingers, and deep rich espresso. Â Their nightly dinner specials are supposed to be really good, but everytime I've been, they have run out!
I sure wish I could go back! 3.5 stars!
