I've been going to this Ruby Tuesday at Southdale for a long time. I've always thought of this as a better chain restaurant.  They recently went through a menu make-over for the better.

I generally get either a burger or a "fast-fresh combination" because of the unlimited salad bar. The salad bar is 4 out of 5 times fresh looking and great. Occasionally depending on the time of the day it isn't looking too hot. Pricing is pretty good if you go with the salad bar route. Considering most people average 2 heaping plates PLUS whatever else you ordered it's a good deal.

As for drinks I wouldn't recommend them. $5 isn't really a deal, especially as they are $5 every day all day there. More of a marketing gimmick.

I have only really had a couple bad experiences. Both with the same waiter who was absolutely terrible. He told us he has had everything on the menu and that everything is good. He also proceeded to give us our menus and then stand next to our table for 5 minutes. Would check back every 2-3 minutes. Extremely unprofessional and annoying. I haven't seen him the past few times i've gone. I'm hoping he has been let go.

This place smells bad. They don't actually have cocktail straws and 5$ for an absolut drink as a special? People wonder why I don't want to leave minneapolis

One of the best things about chain restaurants is, you can get the same thing at every one of them.  Ruby Tuesdays makes their own lemonade and it kicks ass when mixed with Seagrams 7.

OK, so first I tried a Sam Adam's BL on draught, a beer you shouldn't be able to go wrong with; but they haven't cleaned their beer lines in so long it tasted worse than a tap beer at Bullwinkle's before they shit the bed.  Someone needs to get the memo about craft beer =- Craft beer drinkers know that the freshest best beer is served on tap because kegs are always kept cold and there is no risk of light pollution, if you don't clean your gawddamn beer lines you've defeated purpose of having craft beer on -=

Anyway, the bartender replaced mine (Seagrams 7 and lemonade) without a fuss and I had 3 before the movie started, my no-neck, chickenshit friend refused to say something so he had to pay for that crap.

They run a good appetizer happy hour (chicken fingers, spring rolls and wings for us), all was decent, so we had a good layer for the movie theatre popcorn and Coke.

    Ughhhhhhhhhaaaaarrrrwwww.

    Chain
    Mini sliders were borderline burnt.
    Bloodys were poorly made.
    Fries were salty.
saving grace: they Doublefry their fries.

staff was not impressive, my cocktail wasn't very good... menu was boring and food wasn't even good when it arrived...we waited 20 minutes for tab to come  back after we requested it....this place made me think of the crappy restaurants that they make fun of in the movie "office space"

So you won't usually find me in a chain restaurant, at least not if I'm picking the place. But it's not always all about me (shocker!), and if we must eat at a chain, Ruby Tuesday's is a pretty decent pick.

I've never been disappointed with any of their food selections, except maybe the veggies, which tend to be a tad overcooked. And I love that salad bar! The pumpernickel croutons are what get me every time. Usually I get a chicken quesadilla along with the salad bar, which is a great value, but this time I went for the avocado chicken sandwich. It was fairly good, but messy. I'll go back to the quesadilla next time. Oh, also! That shrimp fondue is worth a try. We got it for free because our server didn't mention it (I do hope she didn't get in trouble), and it was delicious, though I could feel my arteries clogging as I was eating it.

I also love their drinks, but I was kind of bummed to see that they jacked up the price on my favorite beverage, the Ruby Relaxer. I'm going to have to imbibe with a bit more restraint in the future. Sad day.

We usually have pretty good service at this location, but this time it was stellar. We were waited on by a young lady named Chelsea, who said it was her first day serving; we never would have known! She was very professional and checked up on us frequently. We'll be sure to ask for her in the future.

This review is based solely off of the service we received. (Our food was good but not in and of itself worth reviewing a chain.) We were seated in Robert's section and he was wonderful!  Charming and extremely attentive without hovering weirdly, and super accommodating about our dietary restrictions. That kid is a keeper!

Totally a fan of the bar/appetizers side of this place - My reasoning I will keep short.   Much like Friday's and Chili's, they have an extensive list of apps that are full of flavor, not too healthy, and compliment a decent beer/mixed drink selection well.  In addition, while neither the guac or the spinach dip are terrible fantastic, they do offer you bottomless chips to accompany them, which to me is just one of those little things that makes a not perfect dip get a genuine leg up.

I have eaten dinner here before, and while the menu itself is extensive, I'm not a huge fan of the food for the price point.  It's just A-OK I suppose...

A not to the web editor... You guys use the word fresh way too many times on both your menu and your website... Yes, fresh is good, but honestly, when I see fresh chicken ... I expect to hear clucking...

Don't come here on a Sunday evening. We walked in at 610. Saw five open tables. The manager and the host both told us the kitchen was overwhelmed and that they were expecting a large party, so they'd have to wait to seat us, and it would take 15 minutes.

I'm not usually one to care about a 15 minute wait, but waiting when there are many open tables is silly.

Pair that with the usually rude wait staff at this location, a dismissive manager and host that seemed uninterested at best, and a usually messy salad bar results in us opting not to wait, going elsewhere, and having a lovely dining experience.

Not the first time I've been here - in fact, we have hit this location up at least twice monthly when going to the movies in Southdale. But this was definitely the last.

Oh, and we were going to only do the salad bar, which would have not put the "overwhelmed" kitchen out at all.

    Good bye, Ruby Tuesday.

    Friendly, quick, and attentive staff!

Food is quite good for a family, sit-down restaurant with everything and the kitchen sink on the menu.  It's much better than TGI Fridays or Chilie's.  Ruby's grills FRESH veggies with clarified butter, yay!  I'm not a fan of the salad bar though, and I think it's because, for almost the same price, Q Cumbers's salad bar, just down the road, is much better.

I think my only jab would be the price.  All the entrees are about 3 dollars more than what I think they should be, and I think that has to do with the overhead of stocking the salad bar every day and the extensive list of ingredients they have.  3 dollars isn't much to a single person, but 12 dollars with tip and extra tax across 4 people becomes really noticeable.

One more thing, their drinks are small and weak, sigh...

This is a decent chain restaurant that does a few things well.  For starters, I love their french fries.  Their burgers and drink specials are pretty good too.  The pasta here is mediocre and greasy, and don't bother with their brunch food.  Instead go down the road to the Original Pancake House. I've had really inconsistent experiences here: one time I was seated at a back table where there were a milk bottle cap, a paper napkin and a ring of red onion on the floor.  After seeing that, the state of their bathrooms was not really a surprise.  However, the servers have always been attentive, and now that I've figured out what's
decent on the menu, I don't think I'd mind coming by once in a while for a burger and some drinks.

Normally I have always had a good experience at Ruby Tuesdays. When I went in the other night, me and my wife sat at the bar to grab a quick drink and a app. The bar tenders were vary nice and looked like they were having a great time with there job. Which I love because that means that they will be more out going.

The bar tender suggested the dip trio, with unlimited chips. While waiting for our drink I was more then entertained. The food tasted good, but the worst part was buy then end of the night, both of us got extremely sick. It will be quick some time before I go back.

I did call to talk to the manager just to let him know about it, but I felt like the phone call was a waste of time.

I was sad to see that this location only had two and a half stars.  I love this one.  I used to work in the mall, so the staff knows me but they are always really friendly.  Their salad bar is fresh and they are quite fast with the food.  I never run out of soda and they are very patient.

I sat waiting for my lunch and listened to a server being totally bombarded by this woman.  For starters, this woman claims she can no long have gluten in her diet.  Then she starts to ask the server about every ingredient in a certain meal.  The server politely goes to the back and comes out with the answer.  The woman made her do this about five more times.  Then she finally said that she would just have the salad bar.  Now mind you, this woman is about 500 lbs give or take.  I think she had more problems than gluten.  (maybe due to her "allergies" she was swollen!)  Anyways, when this server came back to refill my soda I told her she was very patient and she politely smiled and said, " I have four children at home.  Patient is my middle name."

I was very impressed with her lack of annoyance and her willingness to help this woman out.  To be honest I would have just told the woman to eat at home if she is this picky.

This is probably one of my favorite restaurant chains in the Midwest. The food is always really good, and at this particular location, I haven't ever really gotten bad service. I guess if you consider waiting for like 10 minutes for a fresh water, then maybe..but other than that, the place is delightful overall.

I enjoy their salad bar, however, I've noticed if you go closer to the 5-6:00 dinner time, the products on the salad bar are not nearly as fresh and great tasting as they are later in the evening, and earlier in the daytime.

The Typhoon shrimp appetizer is delicious, and I am a big fan of being able to get blackberry lemonade!

I would stay away from the sangrias though, they were weird...I'm not sure why either, but I wasn't liking them at all.

They recently redid the whole restaurant's atmosphere too, like in the past year or so, so instead of all that tacky restaurant crap all over the walls, its a little better. Some of it is still there, but for the most part, it looks sooo much better! keep up cooking good food!

I don't get out to the suburbs much.  I'm not some sort of downtown snob (OK, I am), it's more that I don't have a car of my own, and it's particularly de-motivating to leave the safe confines of the walkable warehouse district when there are 4 fresh inches of snow on the ground.

But enough about that.  We were in the neighborhood checking out a promising lamp on Craigslist after work, and when the formerly beautiful, designer lamp turned out to be scratched and (probably) ruined by grandchildren, we turned to Ruby Tuesday's.

I have to admit, I kind of like RT's.  While I hate (HATE) buffets, I really do love salad bars, and their mini cheeseburgers are great - the teeny fried onion on top really seals the deal for me.  I decided to try the mini trio, which was really out of character for me, considering it only included 1 mini burger (plus 1 mini turkey burger and 1 mini crabcake burger).

I should have stuck to my gut, because the turkey and crabcake minis were kind of gross/boring.  My one regular mini cheeseburger was still great.

The service was scary fast (like my dining partner wasn't even halfway through his first salad bar plate when our burgers came), and if it weren't for the screaming children, RT's may have even creeped up to a 3.
