Sammy's Red Hots

Never ordering from here again! Super disappointed. I wanted to try out a Gyro burger, and not only did it come extremely late, but my fries are saturated with oil, half of them aren't cooked and the other half tastes like it was a batch from 3 days ago. My burger was COLD, and fell apart the moment I picked it up. I got half way through and gave up. To top it all off, the Milkshake tastes like crap... Don't waste your time or money with this place. Check out my picture. It's the one that says: "This was my dinner?? Disgusting"

Ordered off GrubHub and everything was disgusting, I am not sure where to begin, so I will just go down the list of items we ordered.

Gyro Sandwich: brown/wilted lettuce on the bottom that was so caked on I could not remove it.  The gyro meat was grainy and had hard bits in it that I was not sure what they were (guessing bits of bone, I feel disgusted as well, and stopped eating for that reason).  Lastly the cucumber sauce was congealed and not a sauce so much as the consistency of feta cheese.

Tamale in a Blanket: Served like a hotdog, this was the saving grace, I would not order it again, but it was the best thing served.

Coconut Cake: This pissed me off the most, it cost $5 on <a href="/redir?url=http%3A%2F%2FGrubHub.com&s=f593eaab003cd19889a720326b2f211d5de3ba2dc932c7460208b2fc52110c66" target="_blank" rel="nofollow">http://GrubHub.com</a>, but clearly only costs $1.99 in the restaurant, as it came with the price tag on it.  On top of that, it is yellow cake box mix with cheap frosting and coconut flakes on top, not worth the $5, not worth the $1.99

Fries: They come with everything, and so I did not pay extra for it.  That said, they were all oil, I asked to have them crispy, and I think they made it undercooked instead.  Overall, disgusting.

Finally, the delivery service.  I live in a condo building that has a buzzer at the front door.  I have lost faith in humanity based on how lazy the driver(s) are for restaurants, specifically since they charge $6, yes SIX dollars to deliver.  They called me from his car asking me to come down, I said no, I paid $6 to have it delivered, you should be opening it up, putting it on a plate and cleaning up afterwards, so I am sure as hell not coming down.  He then tried to act like he did not speak English, so as I dialed GrubHub to cancel (and let him know I was doing so), he suddenly learned English and was able to use the buzzer.  He was extremely rude upon the hand-off.

Don't do it, save yourself the money and save your body the garbage this place serves.

I live close to Sammy's, so I stop in from time to time.  I've never had them deliver, so I can't respond to some of the other reviewers' bad experiences with that.  I can tell you, however, that even if you order in the shop they often make mistakes and confuse your order with someone else's.  

Stick to the hot dogs.  That's your best bet, and they're cheap.  And they actually taste pretty good.  Most of the rest of the food is mediocre or worse, but the prices are pretty reasonable.  The service is fairly quick when you order in the store.

Sammy's is good for a quick, cheap bite if you actually walk into the restaurant, but lower your expectations.
