This place was awesome! We had a pepperoni and sausage pizza that was thin and soft crust (not crispy). The cheesy garlic bread is baked fresh and very tasty. They have great draft selections and the beer is reasonably priced. I can't recommend this place highly enough! Family owned and very friendly and casual!
Review Source:I've heard of Sorrento's for several years, and that was after the terrible fire that claimed Papa DeLuca, but now I finally got the chance to try it out (thank you, Yelp!) I ordered a small pizza for myself, the Deluxe "Bob Huggins' favorite" and thought it was very good, good cheese, and loaded with sausage, and pepperoni. Thought the price was expensive for what it was, but I thought it was satisfied. There were some basketball games on the TVs, but neither UC nor Xavier were on. Sports memorabilia was a great touch, a great collection all despite the fire that wiped out the past collection. Service too was friendly, prompt, considering my friend and I were the only ones dining there (not at the bar). I'd happily come back again, but order a large pizza to split for better value.
Review Source:After 20 years in Cincinnati, I finally tried Sorrento's in Norwood for the first time. Â Boy, did I wait too long! Â Their Margareta pizza was incredible. Â
We also had a hardworking waitress who, despite the crowd and a Holiday Party, was attentive and on top of things. Â I'll be back!
I got a carry-out pizza last week. The italian sausage was delicious, the crust very good, the sauce very good. I wasn't a fan of the aroma - it had a pungent, musty / garlicky smell to it that I think was due to the cheese blend. I suppose like all food that incorporates good (aged?) cheese, the smell is indicative of quality...and to back that up, the pizza tasted significantly better than it smelled. Unfortunately, I'm not an "aged cheese" type of person, and I just can't forget that pungency.
Definitely better than other Cincy area pizzas I've had, and credit to the small business pizza parlor for the uniqueness of the flavor & quality of ingredients. Just not an all time fav for me.
Sorrento's is a place I would go to often when I was a kid. When Xavier played at the Cincinnati Gardens, my father would often bring me there for a pre or post game pie.
Recently re-visited Sorrentos for the first time since my childhood and had many pleasant memories during my visit. Unfortunately the original Sorrento's did suffer a really damaging fire, the renovated Sorrento's still has a lot of the same charm that I remember from the original. Lots of Cincinnati sports memorabilia can be found here. Also many menu items named after various Cincinnati sports figures.
Their pizza is just as delicious as I remember from my youth. Sorrento's is a thin crust pizza, its foldable like NY style and is one of the best thin crust pizzas I have had in town. It isn't the cheesiest pizza you will find but I think they use just enough of cheese. The cheese and the toppings are all very tasty.
If you are looking for a high quality thin crust pizza in a setting with lots of history, I recommend Sorrento's.
I swear, these guys must put some sort of addictive substance in the pizza because I get a craving for it every week. The pizza is outstanding; thin crust with plenty of cheese and the sauce is light and tangy. The garlic bread is outstanding. The staff make this little family run pizzeria a gem in Cincinnati. I highly recommend it. So far, the best pizza I've had in Cincinnati.
Review Source:Sorrento's (in Norwood, NOT to be confused with the one in Reading) has been around for over 50 years. Â A family-owned and run business, it's a staple for Xavier students and alum before and after basketball games, as well as for locals who know where to get the best pizza in town. Â My personal favorite is the Margherita pizza (they spell it differently on the menu, though). Â
The walls are covered with an extensive collection of sports memorabilia, and a huge flat screen TV on every wall, which guarantees you'll be able to see the game. Â There's also a game room in the back with foosball, Ms. Pac-man, etc., which is perfect for keeping kids busy. Â If all this isn't enough to keep you occupied, the family, their friends and the restaurant's regulars will definitely entertain you! Â The restaurant is packed before and after Xavier basketball games, but otherwise seating usually isn't much of an issue. Â Sorrento's also offers take-out if you'd prefer to watch the game at home. Â The bar stays open until 2:30am and the kitchen is usually open til midnight.
