The name of this place is "Toshi"...not sure how they got "To Fishi".

Well, I really wanted to like this place.  If for no other reason, we need a decent sushi place up here to compete with Hiyashi.  Unlike the previous reviewer however, I actually went to the place.  And while I understand the frustration of this place littering the neighborhood...I don't think complaining on Yelp is the right forum, and certainly not helpful.

That said, I will say that I was highly disappointed in this place.  Not really knowing the reputation of a new establishment, I won't get sushi right away, but instead order what I would call "staples" of typical Japanese American cuisine such as Teriyaki Chicken, Yakisoba and Vege Tempura.  Well, both the Teriyaki Chicken and Yakisoba were completely tasteless, and the tempura was a bit soggy.  I mean, it was not just "not that good".  It was plain and simply bad.  I could have made better Teri chicken from a jar at home.  The service was fine, but certainly not worth the money to be serve sub-par food.  I have been to many Japanese restaurants downtown, near north, as well as the northern burbs, and this has to be the worst place I've ever been to.  With it hidden in the back of the strip in the old Rhapsody space, I'd be surprise it will last until end of the year.

I don't believe this business is open yet, but through their marketing practices they've insured I'll never set foot inside. Sometime in the past few days, they came around and completely blanketed my neighborhood in menus, which in and of itself is a total waste of paper. To add injury to insult, however, in the rainstorm today said menus were blown all over and soaked onto the driveways, sidewalks, and yards. I guess I should thank whoever decided that was a good marketing plan - they've saved me the cost of a Japanese dinner, because every time I see their logo, all I'm going to be able to think of is the hours of my life spent cleaning up soggy menus from my yard.
