The girl working in the drive-thru was extremely rude to me and insulting to my daughter.
McDonald's gave out coupons for free fruit smoothies. Â I had two and decided to try two smoothies with my daughter. Â I read the coupon and it said: ONE COUPON PER PERSON Â Those were the only rules. Â The girl at the drive-thru told me that my daughter was not a person and I could only get one smoothie. Â I got really pissed off and said, "She is not a person. Â I would have to disagree with you!" Â How rude was that? Â I held my guns and informed her that my daughter was a person. Â She then told me that the coupons were just for adults. Â I looked at her and laughed. Â I said did you even read the back of the coupon...it doesn't even say that anywhere. Â Long story short...she reluctantly gave up and gave us our two smoothies!
I am sorry but if corporate McDonald's knew that this person did this or if it was management (at this location) dictating this I am sure that someone would have been fired by corporate. Â McDonald's makes a huge living off of "Happy Meals" ordered by little people who are customers too!
Six Flags McD...
In recent times, McDonald's has been undergoing something of a renaissance into trying to become some odd upscale Starbucks-a-like, and in doing so, as a parent, I've been disappointed to see a number of nice playlands disappear. McDonald's seems to have forgotten that they have the playland market cornered... so anyways, I've decided to review some and share some hints for other parents.
This McDonald's is generally in need of better maintenance, usually a bit on the dirty side when we've been here. Â On the other hand, it has a very nice playland that's usually very busy, well designed for both younger and older children, and we cannot drive past it without requests to "can we please go there?" Â It's a large playland, large enough to host large birthday parties, and with restroom facilities in the playland area, which is great for kids. Â We try to make the drive down a few times a year, and it seems to be a popular stop for families going to Gurnee Mills or Six Flags.
