My boyfriend and I decided to try this place out of curiosity one night after dinner at Sasha's Wine bar. Â We were a little nervous because we read reviews and it seemed like a lot of regulars. Â We didn't want to feel out of place. Â But when we walked in, the staff and customers made us feel like one of the family. Â
The place is small. Very small. Â You can still smoke. Â But, it didn't get too smokey. Â They had a large projector on the wall where customers were playing video games. Which was really cool. Â It almost like hanging out in a friends basement. Â The crowd was friendly and diverse. Â The DJ was playing early nineties hip hop, not too loud (since it is so small). Â All in all, i really enjoyed myself. Â We will be back.
I was excited to go here with the girls because I had heard of it before, but never knew where it was. Â Glad one of us did, or we would NEVER have found it!
We didn't stay very long, drink prices seem to be high, but they were admittedly very yummy. Â
The decor is very cheap and would definitely not be a reason to go back, and the place was empty on a Saturday night, I think it was 11-ish. Â It definitely served our purpose which was to get buzzed and then call it a night.
A friend of mine had been telling me about how she enjoys Twisted Olive (mostly to go there by herself and read) for several months, and I finally went there the other night with her. Â
It's in a really strange location, above and to the left of Vintage Vinyl, next to a tattoo shop. Â The inside of the bar is equally as odd. Â The decor is pretty loungy, but the racks that the liquor is on appear to be the kind of metal ones you can get at Home Depot. Â They were adorned with rope lights.
Although I'm painting what might be a bad picture, the service was really good. Â The bartender was a really sweet guy, and I hear that the service generally is really good. Â My vodka tonic was pretty good, although in a very tiny glass.
There was DJ equipment set up, but nobody was spinning. Â I can't imagine enjoying being there when it's crowded, as it is so small, but I'm generally not a big fan of crowded spaces, to be fair.
