Love this place. Love love love. The atmosphere is fun, the layout is open/airy/conducive to large parties, and the wait staff are amazing.
Drinks: Their Kentucky Mule, my go-to cocktail, is exactly on point -- enough bourbon to give you bite but enough gingerbeer to make you feel refreshed. It was one of the most balanced Mules I've had in San Diego. Their Paloma and Daisy Fay are great too, both are light and oddly rejuvenating.
Apps: The Meat Board and Cheese Board (sold separately but if you order both and they'll combine it on to one board for you) are PHENOMENAL. When it first came out, I was concerned with how little was on the board but it ended up being the perfect appetizer size to share between 3 people. Shared between 2, it could've been a light dinner/very substantial snack. The meats were tasty and expertly-cured (not to mention, at the right tempurature!) and the cheeses were a perfect variety of creamy, tangy, and savory. The honey that comes with the cheese is also mind-blowing. I've always looked at honey as an addition, an enhancer, but I found myself having to hold back from eating it straight off the spoon. It was that delicious. These boards are definitely a must.
Pizza: We ordered the Mashed Potato Pizza and while it was very very delicious, dare I say it was too heavy on the carbs? (I know -- checking my temperature as we speak) I found myself wishing there was something clean and crisp to cut the richness of the potatoes, white sauce, and bacon. Maybe a handful of arugula? Maybe a dash of capers? Some kind of acidity or "bite" would've been welcome but that said, the pizza was still great and highly recommendable. The crust was excellent and the flavor profile was very comforting.
Urbn is definitely the place to go if you want drinks, appetizers, or dinner -- for  large parties or small. They do a great job of making such a large place feel homey and welcoming while maintaining the openness of the design. Very much a Yelp hit for me.
