Over priced and underwhelming. Â I wish there was a 0 rating. Â I don't usually dislike a place this much. Â Went with a group of 6 and the staff had a hard time managing the table. Â I tried to order extra eggs and meat with my breakfast, the waitress told me it was better to order to meals. Â Actually it was a lot more and gave me extra bread, potato and fruit that I did not want. Â Their was no substitutions on the breakfast orders either, so lots of wasted food at the table getting items we did not want. Â the only good thing was the coffee. Â I expect never to go here again!
Review Source:I bought a Groupon deal, $20 for $40 dinner. I followed the instructions on Groupon to make a reservation for the dinner in the same day. However, when I arrived, the restaurant was closed. The sign on the door said that they had an event that night. It was strange that they didn't tell me when I called in for reservation in the morning. I called the restaurant, but nobody responded and the voicemail box was full. I came back home and sent them an email, but the email got returned as their address was not found in the system?!
I contacted Groupon, and explained what happened. Then Groupon allowed me to cancel my purchase. I don't think I will ever want to try this restaurant again.
We had terrible customer service here for lunch on Sunday. The greeting, drinks, and food took a ridiculous amount of time, we had to ask multiple times for water (at which she brought one at a time) and my food was slightly cold. This was a shame since the food could have been good (the sausage hash)but the waitress made the experience so terrible that I finally decided to write my first yelp review. She was so unfriendly and as a server myself, I can't believe the attitude that was given to us!
The rest of the staff seemed friendly-smiling and working hard, but the woman with the dark hair shouldn't be in the service industry.
We made a reservation for brunch on a Sunday, thinking that a quaint little spot might be nice. Â I went with my wife and daughter and, for being the only other group in the place, it took them almost 45 minutes to bring out our food. Â That would have almost been okay if the food was halfway decent...but it was subpar at best. Â My wife ordered the crepe which was dry and made with deli turkey from Costco (or so it seemed). Â I ordered the Croque Monsieur which was bland and tasteless. Â My daughter ordered the crepes with banana and Nutella, but they couldn't even nail that!
The menu reads really well and sounds great, but the service is atrocious, the food made us all queezy after about 30 minutes and it was way overpriced. Â
Perhaps they are not a brunch place, but they are billing themselves to be. Â If I were you, I would DEFINITELY skip the brunch. Â We should have known better when it took them 10 minutes to bring us water with no ice in it on a 75 degree day.
Like others, we had a Groupon that we were going to use and, of course, they denied it saying that it clearly stated that it was for dinner and drinks. Â The least she could have done was give me face value for the Groupon rather than make me pay full price for possibly the worst brunch I've ever had!
I won't be back. Â I'll just delete the Groupon and hope that this review gets the word out so that others can avoid it if they can.
Everything was a little dirty, except for the tea pot. Â That was really dirty. Â The dusty table cloth, and dirty tea pot, and mugs didn't really bother me that much. Â I was much more disappointed with my breakfast. Â
I ordered the Northwest omelette. Â The omelette tasted pretty good and came with a bare minimum of breakfast potatoes and was supposed to come with a pastry. Â I received a muffin. Â Muffins aren't pastries. Â I might have been more forgiving if the muffin had been spectacular, but it actually wasn't very good.
My husband had the French toast, which was a similarly small portion of food. Â He wasn't very impressed with the execution of the French toast.
Service was adequate. Â It wasn't attentive, but it wasn't neglectful, either. Â It was neither friendly, nor hostile. Â It wasn't enthusiastic or reluctant. Â There were only two servers taking care of the place, so our server may have been handling more tables than was comfortable for him.
Never coming back again.
I brought a big group here, the server didn't want to seat us and said their cafe is too small and probably not a good fit for our group. Then I look around, there were only two individuals in the entire cafe, talk about bad attitude. I hope she is not the owner because she just drove away a drinking group that has quite a good size of network.
Horrible customer service & rude staff. Had our 12 people standing outside in the cold at 5pm even though they opened at 5:30. Â The hostess even turned us away & told us that "their venue wasn't appropriate for our meeting". Never been until now & definitely won't be back! I would give it -1 stars if I could.
Review Source:A great spot in Bellevue for a nice glass of wine and great dinner. Â I took advantage of the outdoor seating yesterday as the weather was nice outside. Â The lasagna is incredible. Â I don't know how they make it but the red sauce is amazing. Â They have a very talented chef. Â He came out to check on how we like the dinner and I learned he has cooked all over the world and worked with Julia Child for part of his career. Â I have also been here for the weekend brunch which is quite nice.
Review Source:Really pricey for what it is. Â I went there with my wife last night. The place was not very packed and we were seated promptly. It has a great ambience and is a cute little spot. Â I had a decent glass of wine and the server was fine. Â The food however, is very average and waaaay overpriced.
My wife got the Chcken Cacciatore was $18 and was suppossed to be fettucine but they ended up bringing out Spaghetti. Â The tomato sauce had to have come out of a can. Â There was a bunch of tomato water at the bottom of the plate and the chicken was overcooked. Â I could have made this in college and it would have been better. Â Olive Garden is better. Pretty much any other place would have made it better. Â
I had the Rack of lamb for $28. The lamb was cooked unevenly with the first piece being medium well and and one of the other pieces fairly rare. It was also over salted, but I like salty food so I didn't mind it that much. Â The potatoes and beans were actually good. Â However, the presentation and the dish were NOT worth $28. Â
We won't be going back there.
I could spend less than this and eat at a large number of places on the east side and in Seattle.
Decent spot for brunch. The food is good, nothing amazing. I ordered the croque Madame which was great and my friend ordered the French toast which was absolutely pathetic. I probably could have made the same if not much better. Service is extremely slow... The server messed up on my friends order so had to expedite her order which is possibly why the french toast sucked. It took about 10-15 min just to get water after we got seated. Probably just need another staff member to help.. Cute spot though. If you don't have anything going on and want to sit for a while, then you'll be fine going here.
Review Source:This place is okay. I heard business isn't doing so well here, and it was quite obvious when we came here on a Friday night. The location is in more of a residential area, so it doesn't quite attract the mall crowd. I had the French onion soup and spaghetti and meatballs. The spaghetti was okay but the French onion soup was pretty good. My BF had their special that day, which was lamb chops, and it was pretty amazing. Very tasty, but the prices were pretty steep, especially for my unimpressive spaghetti and meatballs.
Review Source:The service was very poor and the food was meh.
We made a reservation for 5 but 2 of the girls got delayed getting there. Only 3 other tables were filled but no one came to ask us if we wanted some water, coffee, or
anything. I'm sorry but saying "we thought you were waiting for the others.." just does not cut it. We finally went to the counter an hour later and ordered our drinks and asked for water. Then, though they close at 3, they told us their cook leaves at 2 so we had to order NOW.
The food was cold and not that tasty, there was no brioche in the croque madame (which they should have told us about), and we got a muffin instead of the listed brioche and chocolate-orange butter.
The only reason we put up with this a stayed was because a friend of ours knew the owner and we kept thinking we should give them a chance. A total waste of money and calories.
We went here because of the living social deal ($17 for 2 mimosas and $20 worth of food).
The first time, we went at 1:45 PM and we were told that the last order is at two. Our coupon clearly said brunch was till 3 pm on weekends.
So we went at 1 another Saturday. The place was busy, and it took about 10 minutes to get seated even though we reserved beforehand.
Now, the food. Very small servings, although the taste is decent. My husband took the northwestern plate which had a salmon and spinach omelette, some potatoes two pieces of fruit and an average muffin. I took the vegetarian hash, which is basically 10 forkfuls of peppers and potatoes and two pieces of fruit. For $9, I expect more. They don't serve bread or toast on the side (even for an extra charge), but the server was gracious to add a croissant in for free. They definitely need to do better at their only vegetarian item on the brunch menu. Service is slow, the two women seem to be managing the whole show and hardly come by your table to take more orders, refill water or even give you the bill. The women are very sweet, but they should hire another server to improve their service.
My biggest peeve was when I presented my coupon at the end, and she said I have to bring a physical print out. I had the bar code on my smartphone and drew up the entire page on it too. Then she said did you redeem it on the account? I wasn't sure. Then she said I can't use the coupon if I've said 'redeem' on my living social account, because SHE has to do it. Well it turns out I hadn't pressed redeem after all and the coupon went thru, but I've never had trouble and special instructions like this, esp when the instructions on the coupon are pretty clear.
The ambience is kinda nice for Bellevue, but I doubt if I'll go back, even with a coupon. Without a coupon, it's just too expensive to put up with the small servings and slow service.
Came here for a Women in Tech event - very nice setup that felt like the "neighborhood" bar. Very nice staff and host. Â The food was European - hummus, olives, bruschetta, ... Â I didn't order anything - so whatever was served there was what I got to try.
The parking is a little tricky to find. Â There's free parking - it's BEHIND the bar in the back garage. Â It's a little tricky finding the door to get to the bar. Â It took me about 20 minutes to find it because it was dark and POURING rain outside that night - which was even more motivation for me to find it.
Cute place. Â Feel like it would do great in an outdoor shopping area where shoppers could swing by to rest their feet, get a little nosh and pick me up (drink or food), ... Â Not sure how this place survives in its current location.
Stopped in for brunch using a recently purchased LivingSocial voucher. Â After reading a couple of reviews and knowing that downtown Bellevue can get scary busy during the holidays I made sure to make a reservation for Sunday brunch.
Got there and we were the only ones there around 11AM on a Sunday. Â The server was quick to get us seated but that was as quick as the service was to be for our visit. Â Once food and drink were ordered it took several minutes to get them - mind you there was only one other table with 3 people there.
Sensing things were going to take a while we ordered right away. Â We ordered one an omelette and a hash. Â After waiting close to 20 minutes (at this point there was a table that had filled out to maybe 6 people, and another table with 2 people, and we had ordered prior to these folks showing up) our food was finally presented - and this was after we had been staring at our food for a few minutes from our table sitting at the kitchen window....by the time we got our food it was lukewarm at best.
I will give the chef credit for coming out and checking on us. Â However the food was just so-so. Â It shouldn't have taken so long for what amounted to country potatoes mixed with slightly overcooked sausage, and 2 over easy eggs on top and an omelette. The other disappointment was that when I looked up their menu online it showed that it would be served with a mini brioche and Chocolate Orange Butter - what we got was a stale mini cranberry orange muffin (probably from Costco). Â
All in all I'm glad I didn't pay full price, but kind of wish I hadn't paid anything at all and instead went somewhere like Chace's Pancake Corral or Maltby Cafe where they may be crowded and busy but the food is fresh and served in an appropriate timeframe.
My boyfriend and I went here for brunch 3 weeks ago and I was very excited to try to croque monsieur. After the living social brunch special ran, you would assume they would expect to be very busy for the next few weekends. We had made a reservation in advance and shown up on a gray Sunday excited to try something new. I liked the decor and the woman at the counter explained they had been very busy so she would be with us shortly. We understood and had no problem waiting and then seating ourselves after she pointed out a few free tables. At this point, only 4 tables in the place were occupied. We didn't mind that it took awhile to take our orders- no problem we are easy but then 5 minutes after taking our orders, she explained to me they were out of the bread and ham for the croque, and couldn't make any other sandwiches.
She then went on to explain that they were out of almost everything. Ok, I wish I had known this upon arrival as I could have gone elsewhere and saved this for another day but I'll deal. The remaining choices were eggs or french toast. By this point I was confused as she had just told me they were out of bread to make any sandwhiches but I said the french toast would be fine. We wait another 20 mins, get our food, as disappointed as I was about missing out on my croque, I would have been fine with the french toast had it bee good but it arrived under cooked and the bottom piece was miserably soggy. My boyfriend's breakfast was pretty sub par as well so as much as I WANT to like this place- the menu sounded nice and the decor was cute- it turned out to be an incredibly lackluster experience.
If you are going to run a living social brunch deal in the future, please expect that you are going to get a very large turnout for the next few weekends and have the materials and staff to accomodate this. :(
Good food quality, OK service and overpriced.
We got the $25 off gift certificate for this place so I brought my wife and kid there. When we made the reservation, they told me it's gonna be packed at Friday night but when we arrived on time it's hald empty. There was only one waitress for the whole restaurant, and she forgot to bring us the wine list, while is weird for a wine bar. Not much choices on the menu and we did not see the famous duck fat fries. It's typical American food like salad, pasta, mac & cheese. Kind of disappointed because in <a href="/redir?url=http%3A%2F%2Frestaurant.com&s=c5fe485af4df376130bee54f875814d79c4d7913e1258123b1206d2bdbf4873b" target="_blank" rel="nofollow">http://restaurant.com</a> webpage it has French style menu. The food quality was pretty good, with nice flavored French onion soup, fresh salad and real tender cod. However the portion is small and quite overpriced. If I need to pay full price, I wouldn't be there again.
Apparently the only reason for this cafe to exist is that the people in the towering condos overhead are either too lazy or too unimaginative to go anywhere.
When I stopped in, there were a few people in the cafe being served by a single water who was responsible for everything; drinks, service (food?). A peek into the kitchen revealed that the staff consisted of a single gaunt middle-aged man overwhelmed by stacks of dirty dishes.
Their pastries, which I've read about in other reviews, are delivered from commercial bakers in town. Seriously? Go across the street to Panera Bread. At least they know how to bake something.
Came in with the family on a Friday night... We enjoyed a bottle of wine (Nebiollo) and live music. Â The live musician that was there was great! Â We also split a lavendar macaron (to die for) and a scoop of the mint chocolate chip gelato. Â Everyone who helped us was so nice. Â
Note #1: If you live at Belcarra you get a 10% discount good on anything except alcohol & Happy Hour. Nice!
Note #2: Every Monday night, you can get 1/2 off a bottle of wine with the purchase of an entree.
Bought a groupon deal and went here with a friend for lunch
Location: relatively hard to locate, im pretty sure a lot of people got lost.
Decoration: A little of everything, looks like a mixture of cafe and bakery but they have a bar to serve wine .....?
Service: We had a groupon confusion there that I thought the 40 dollars option could be used anytime I want, apparently it is for dinner only and they close @ 8pm so for a student like me who has to attend evening classes simply won't make it, so whatever I just yielded the 20 dollars away.
Food: We ordered the french dip and the cabonara pasta, a french pass coffee and a green tea latte. Along side with the entrees we also had the signature French Onion Soup. The pasta and the soup were a little too salty, the green tea latte was literally powder mixed and I don't like that.
Overall, mediocre food and services, I have experienced better elsewhere.
Really tasty rich potato hash
Well presented yogurt with fruit
Underwhelming standardly good ham and cheese crepe
I think they gave my dining companion milk instead of soy in his cappuccino and my tea came with a timer (always feels pretentious).
Service was nice.
Atmosphere is a nice casual faux sidewalk cafe decor.
If I lived above here, this would be my lazy don't-leave-the-block default.
Minor suggestions:
The women's bathroom door is fire-safe and very (artificially) heavy.
If you're going to have two single stall bathrooms, you might as well make them unisex. Also, women's bathroom had a lot of space, if any families come in, a changing table (or any lengthy table) might be welcome. Don't know what the men's bathroom looked like..
The good: Â The food was pretty good, waiters were friendly, and the ambiance was nice which really helped because
the bad: Time it took to get our orders taken and the time it took to get all the food out. Â Reading other reviews it looks like something that is consistently mentioned about the place. Â We went for brunch and the service was slow. Â It took about 30 minutes for someone to come by and get our orders and then it took another 45 minutes before our order came out. Â It appeared that they weren't expecting that many people to show up for sunday brunch. Â They were short staffed.
The food was delicious, but it's a good thing we were having a lazy Sunday morning brunch and weren't in a rush to get anywhere - service was really, really slow. The two older women who seemed to be running the show seemed kind of panicked and were rather distracted the whole time. Perhaps they weren't expecting so many people for breakfast that day? I'm not sure. We didn't have a reservation, but we were seated right away. We were informed - apologetically - that they had a lot of reservations that morning so they were a bit busy, and it might be a bit of a wait before they could get back to us. We weren't in a rush and they weren't rude about it, so we said that was fine.
Our orders were a bit incorrect (we received fruit instead of the requested potatoes; one of us received regular drip coffee instead of the "pot" of French Press he had ordered) and the server had to return after taking our order because she had forgotten some of it. As a result, two of the dishes came out perhaps five or ten minutes after the first two. Not a big deal, but it did make them seem disorganized. They also delivered our bill twice.
As I said, though, the food was delicious (even if our orders were mixed up) and we might give it another try in the future. They have a selection of European style items (crepes, croque madame/monsieur) and American items (omelets, hash) and everyone enjoyed the dishes they ordered. There is a pretty standard coffee/espresso menu, as well as the usual mimosa/prosecco/white & red wine deal. All in all, the ingredients for a great brunch are there, but I'd recommend reservations, even for a Sunday morning.
Met a friend here for brunch. So many tasty pastries in the bake case to entice you, but I stayed the course and ordered food first!
You definitely get a European feel here. The brunch menu definitely reflects this same European influence. With both croque monsieur and croque madame.
I had french onion soup and a chai tea. The soup was rich, savory, and exactly what i wanted. The gruyere encrusted crouton on top was crusty, cheesy, and only got better as it soaked up the beefy broth of my soup.
The chocolate croissant is classic and traditionally done. Perfect to go with a cup of coffee. All the coffee here is french pressed, which is a great find for coffee lovers.
The bright spot of this palce is definitely the service. They are attentive and pleasant. They let you take your time to order, to eat, to spend time with your friends. I love that. Had such an great leisurely meal.
Disclaimer: Don't come here for the ambiance. It's your typical ground level office building space...pretty standard for downtown Bellevue. If you want charm with your coffee, go back across the bridge to Seattle.
Nice location near the Hyatt in Bellevue. The ambiance is industrial chic mixed with European cafe flair. The only hint of the European roots came from the chairs....if not for them it would have looked like any other coffee bar.
My friend and I ordered stuffed french toast and the traditional American breakfast of sausages, eggs, duck fat potatoes. Her french toast was tasty albeit very heavy. The marscarpone cheese and fig jam were nice twists and helped to keep the bread moist, but I've had better versions. My American breakfast was a fail. My sausage links were limp, my eggs were undercooked and my potatoes were not crisp at all. Meh. Its almost as if they cooked it all in a lukewarm pan. Put a sear on it man!
The highlight was the free warm croissant that came with chocolate butter and the french press coffee. The rest was only passable.
My friend gifted me a groupon for ViaVita and we went for Saturday brunch. I was seated promptly at a table I requested. There were only a few people there, and the noise levels were good.
I ordered the stuffed French toast and my friend ordered something that she thought was something else. The waitress was kind enough to remove the untouched plates, and my friend was able to eat what she wanted. They did not even charge us for this despite me telling the waitress that she could since it was our error. The duck fat potatoes were light and savory!
The service was great, the food came out promptly, and was very delicious. I ordered a green tea and they gave me a mini tea pot. The parking it a bit challenging, but it is a great location. I would recommend this for a casual brunch spot.
ViaVita welcomed a girlfriend and I for a lovely Saturday brunch.  The décor of the place was great with the small stone bistro tables overlooking a water feature and a small courtyard area. Â
The food was amazing and the service was great! Â I had a Northwest Omelet which had delectable flavor and a generous portion of salmon; it was even served with bread and a very good spread to begin. Â The entire meal, we had been dreaming of a Nutella and banana crepe, so we ended up splitting a serving (which was two smaller crepes) between the two of us to finish off our meal. Â
I can only imagine this place being a great low-key place to grab a drink in the evening, so I can't wait to try it then too.
We had a Groupon for this place that we let expire. Â Oops. Â The good news is every expired Groupon is worth the $ amount you pay for it.
So, we decided to stop by for brunch on a Sunday morning.
I ordered the Saucisson Hash - Duck Fat Potatoes, French Sausage, two Eggs, Mini Brioche. Â I'm not a huge fan of sausage, so I ordered it with pancetta and egg whites. Â It was incredibly tasty! Â The duck fat made the potatoes addictively good. Â The pancetta was an acceptable alternative, especially since they do not have bacon in the house.
The brioche roll was tasty too. Â I wasn't real big on the homemade nutella though. Â To me, it tasted more like butter with just a hint of cocoa powder. Â It's dark colored like nutella, but it doesn't spread quite like nutella does. Â I think I'll bring in my own jar of nutella next time ;) Â Don't get me wrong, I appreciate the effort to make a homemade nutella. Â It just wasn't quite what I was expecting.
Service was friendly and prompt. Â I believe one of the owners was helping out doing the serving, so she was apologetic for her lack of serving skills. Â But really, she did just fine :)
They also have a pastry display if you want some pastries to go.
Truth be told, if we had stopped by for brunch before the Groupon had expired, we would have had a difficult time getting the bill over $40 -- without ordering alcohol. Â For the gourmet ingredients with the brunch, I think the prices were fair. Â Sure, you can get bacon, eggs, hash browns, and pancakes for under $8 elsewhere, but where can you get duck fat potatoes, pancetta or French Sausage, eggs, and a brioche $12 for brunch? Â Psst, the answer is ViaVita!
We'll be back.
This place was a disappointment.
While the service was great (Shannon was very friendly and attentive), the food was subpar. The pastries, the double stuffed french toast, and the croque madame were unimpressive. The double stuffed french toast was small serving and there was nothing "double stuffed" about it. The bread was dry and there was a tiny amount of filling. The croque madame was heavy, but not in a delicious and decadent way, but a "oh my god, this could sink a ship" way. It was underseasoned and dry.
For $40, I think I'll pass.
This place seems very unassuming from the outside. Â Once you actually get in, sit down and look at the menu, everything changes.
The establishment definitely has a Euro flair to it (I don't see snails on too many ingredient lists around these parts), but is well executed. Â The charcuterie was legit and the paella was tasty but not quite as traditional as I would have liked.
The wine list was very approachable, offering many entry level wines that weren't complete garbage. Â Quite the contrary, actually, they had a lot of great wine at all price points.
The service was fantastic. Â Like a ghost, felt but not seen. Â They were there when we needed/wanted them, and not hovering over us when we didn't want them. Â Very warm, friendly, inviting without feeling like you're at an italian wedding.
All in all, definitely a spot to check out.
Microsoft Prime 2011-2012
A bit of Europe in the middle of Bellevue
Ambiance: 4
Food: 4
Value: 4
Right across Washington Steps, Via Vita is a tasting of Europe all wrapped into one. Want some Italian gelato? Check. Want some Espresso? Check. Want a Croque Madam (that's French for Egg McMuffin) Check. Want some French pastries? Check. Want some wine and beer?? Double Check.
The food is really solid. I like it a lot. The coffee is good. And the boozes are solid. All in all this is a great place to eat.
The ambience is neat, open, and quiet. I've never seen it more than half full.
It offers one of the most flexible Prime deals. It's buy one get one for entrees, 20% when you're dining alone, and 20% off coffee and pastries. They have brunch in addition to happy hour. A really nice all around place: I'm already a regular.
ViaVita Cafe is a mix between, cafe, wine bar, and restaurant. I was nervous entering b/c it's such a swanky upscale cafe. I kept peering around scoping for disapproving faces. It turns out that this cafe isn't like those other fancy ones that pressure you into purchasing more than you want. I got what I wanted plus the loitering. Â Â
I ordered the peach white blossom herbal tea. It tastes as good a it smells. They have brunch as well as sorbet ice cream. The servers and baristas are friendly and amiable. I'm coming back to try their HH as well as their wines. Geez this cafe & wine bar is like a mall, so much to offer.
Cute place! We came in for a quick bite on a sunny mid-morning. Tall windows allowed the sunlight to just pour in and give the place a really relaxing and warm feel.
Relaxing and warm would be a really good way to describe the food we had too. The croque madame was exactly what I was looking for - fatty, warm, gooey, crunchy, melty. Awwww yeahhhhh.
This place is what artisanal table could've been, and I have a feeling it will have more success (smaller, better setup, great staff). It will be interesting to see a bit of a battle coming up when they open cafe cesura nearby.
There's a good enough amount of space, but I can still see it filling up real quick during busier times. Prices are fine for the quality of the food, and I'm looking forward to trying some of their evening options.
The people here are fantastic. When I made the reservation, I mentioned that this was an early Mothers' Day celebration because I had to work on the actual holiday. They accomodated us with a very nice table in a more private location, and the manager came over mid-meal to wish us a happy Mothers' Day.
The server made excellent food recommendations, and she kept our glasses full without being too present. Food, service, and location.
My only constructive feedback would be that the French toast was a little dry. We asked for a side of the fig preserves to add to the toast, and it was great after that. Also, we had quite a few mimosas over the course of the brunch. I wish there were an option to purchase a carafe - those things get expensive when you buy them individually!
We tried the brunch here today and ended up not being impressed.
Some context:
We thought we would try brunch here after driving by and seeing the outside. I hadn't read any Yelp reviews, although all before mine gave good reviews. We have not eaten dinner here, and might go back sometime to try that menu.
What we liked:
The interior space is welcoming, open and nicely decorated. Lots of windows to let in the light.
What we didn't like:
The food: We both ordered the ham and cheese crepes, and were expecting savory flavors from the melted cheese, and rich sauce. Â However, overall the dish was luke-warm in temperature, so what little cheese there was was not even melted, the ham was cold, and the sauce was barely warm. There was little to no flavor in this dish. Â Both of ours were served the same way.
The coffee: Mocha's are my default coffee drink, mine was not much of a mocha as the chocolate was not melted, or stirred into the coffee very well, when I drank the coffee off the top there was a sizable sludge of chocolate left at the bottom of my cup.
Delicious! What a nice Bellevue surprise! A friend and I were looking for a European style cafe (she tends to find the best) and she suggested this place.
Their potato leek soup paired with an apple brie panini was just lovely. I expected pastry and coffee, but not such an array of lunch fare.
I couldn't help but have a bowl of salted caramel gelato (okay, and also some citrus gelato)..and I'm glad I didn't pass up on dessert!
The space is clean and spacious--service is friendly, and it is an overall quiet and relaxing place to spend a morning/afternoon.
