I came here on a Saturday evening with friends at around 7:30PM...it was not packed at all and we also made reservations so we were seated immediately..The portions are normally on the bigger side so it's recommended that you come here with a group of people or expect to bring home leftovers..unless you're coming to just have a few drinks with a friend..
Food:
Cheesy Corn (on the house appetizer--not sure if they always provide this..): tasted basically liked cheese + corn..the cheese is melted on the corn of course...and delicious if you like both cheese & corn.. :)
Dolsot Ultimate Kimchi Bokkeumbap ($22) - fried rice made with fermented spicy cabbage with additional charge depending on the option/type of fried rice you select..for the vegetarians, you can probably opt to have the fried rice w/out the meat/spam (but if you aren't a fan of kimchi..you shouldn't order this dish)..the ultimate kimchi bokkeumbap was delicious and the portion was huge as well..and it may be spicy for people who cannot handle spicy food.....they are generous with the amount of food they give you.. :)
*ultimate option provides you with spam, eggs, bacon, and cheese
Daktigem ($16) - popcorn chicken which comes with a side of Yeowoosai's house yellow sauce, jalapenos, and pickled radishes...you can opt to try the sweet & spicy popcorn chicken as well as the original (w/out the sauce); however, I would recommend just eating the original (w/out the sauce) because it is still tasty...the pickled radish tastes perfect w/ the chicken..the pickled radish has a sweet & vinegary taste to it and is usually provided w/ fried chicken if you go to Korea.. :0
Drinks: they have a beer list and korean fruit soju's if you enjoy those in pitchers..
Customer Service: the waiters were both friendly..no complaints
Atmosphere: dim lighting, sort of like a sports bar (t.v's are available to watch while eating)... many younger people come here to eat & drink with friends...
Parking: there's a small parking lot....it may be hard to find parking in the parking lot during busy hours because there are other vendors in the same strip mall..I'm sure there's street parking if if you can't find parking....
I would come here again if I was in the area or if I wanted a drink or two.. :)
We went there on a random Wednesday night. They have specials like half off fried chicken and cheap beer during the week. We got the popcorn chicken, the original Kimchi fried rice, and some seafood tofu soup. Be warned, they gave you A LOT of food. We took leftovers to go and it lasted both of us two lunches. The fried rice was good, but I wish they gave you more spam in it. Popcorn chicken was awesome, I think it's probably because they use dark meat of the chicken--the meat was not dry at all. Tender, and flavorful. The soup was one of the better ones I've had in Chicago, and again, they gave you A LOT. I almost felt embarrassed to have so much food left on the table--maybe our waiter could've told us about the portion size?
