I will never go here again. Me and my friend waited at first 45 minutes for our food. Then another server handed our food to another table, but one of our appetizers got to us after the other table said that they didn't order that appetizer. So as the other table was eating (my crab dip) I waited 30 more extra minutes. WE ONLY ORDERED APPETIZERS! Our server told the manager that we were angry but he NEVER even came out and said he was sorry for the wait. NEVER discounted our check. I use to be a server, and to give out food an hour and fifteen minutes later = no charge. Now I know what everyone is thinking reading this though..."oh well it might have been busy." The other table and me and my friend were the ONLY TWO TABLES IN THE ENTIRE RESTAURANT. The other table consisted of 3 people. Apparently there was a new cook in the back? I don't give a crap. That is completely unacceptable. Not to mention there silverware is dirty and the whole place is disgusting. Every time I think about this situation it makes me angry. GRRR! The only reason why there even getting 1 star from me (I wish you could give negative stars hahah) is the fact that the crab dip was good. THATS IT!
Review Source:I knew it was a risk coming here, seeing the iffy reviews and most of them revolving around beer, but as this is so close to where I live now, I felt I had to give it a chance.
I ended up doing carry out, and ordered a french onion soup and one of the "brick oven" pizzas. My order was already ready when I got there a bit ahead of the quoted time. Â But let me back up a bit. On walking in it's a very typical home town bar atmosphere - lots of neon signs, nothing really special, and creepy guys in sunglasses at 7pm at night goggling at you. Who wears sunglasses in a dark bar? Other than me and the bartender, it was all guys in the bar area. I awkwardly waited on my food while creepy guy continued to stare me down. Just weird. It wasn't just him also, but he wasn't being discrete about it. So I get my food, and I go to pick up the pizza box, and it literally starts to crumple in my hand. I had to tenderly carry the super thin and already ultra greasy box out.
The french onion soup was pretty abysmal. Super salty, kind of like a worst version of canned - but the bread that came with it, a super thin almost pizza crust like slice with parmesan cheese. I will try french onion soup anywhere, so I've had a lot of them, and this is by far the worst one. Still, not totally inedible though.
The pizza was inedible. Super greasy, a bit charred on top, BUT COLD. The cheese somehow wasn't completely melted, the olives were tasteless and dry, and the sauce, while barely was there, was just gross. Also, covered in oregano. I suffered through one piece and threw it out.
Yup, never going back here.
And from what I saw - they just serve a bunch of normal beer. Nothing interesting - just bud/miller/yuengling whatever on tap and a random amount of smirnoff ice. Ugh. Why?
Local bar with reasonable prices and okay food. Their land-n-sea platter is to die for. Some of the best crab cakes I can find in and around Harrisburg. And the ribs are very juicy and tasty for a non-BBQ joint.
It's a great place to watch the game, get a pizza to share and play a game of pool afterward.
I got the chicken caesar salad after reading the menu online. Â A small chicken caesar salad was comparable to the large salads I've had from other places, and at less than five dollars was a steal. Â The chicken was warm, the romaine was crisp, and the focaccia bread was a nice accent. Â The waitress/bartender at this location, a lovely and friendly woman with long curly hair, was great. Â The problem? First the salad came out with no chicken (mistake quickly caught by nice curly bartender). Â Then it came back out with no focaccia bread. Â Nice curly bartender retrieved that for me. Â I was almost home, not very far away, and opened my salad to find a teeny tiny cup of dressing and no croutons. Â Croutons were listed on the online menu. Â I went back for more dressing as I had none at home and it was midnight, and asked about the croutons. Â I was told they no longer serve croutons. Â I was hungry for croutons, darnit, and slightly disappointed, but nice curly bartender gave me a BIG cup of dressing. Â All in all, I would go back again, but I would probably not get my food to go so I could save on having to come back for missing items from the kitchen.
Review Source:Seems like a local place/Widener student joint. Â Good place to get a quick drink after class. Â Drinks are pretty cheap and the bartneders are decent. Â They have pool tables and a big screen tv. Â The tvs at the bar are ok. Â Food is standard, but not horrible. Â Had a pizza and it was on par with typical pizza shops. Â Main reason to go here is for cheap, quick drinks. Â Mixed drinks were $2-$4 each.
