Adobo Grill

Went to Adobo this last  friday with a group of 12 of us. The atmosphere is good and not too noisy, so we could all talk and not have to yell like some restaurants can get. To start we had 3 guac's  made table side. which was very good and went well with the fresh made chips. Just not very much about  less than a cup each serving. The salsa was a big disapoinment. Taste like mild Tabasco mixed with ketsup. Pretty lame. I had the beef enchiladas which were good nothing special but the portion size look more like a lunch size. I was still hunger after dinner. My wife had 3 fish tacos which she liked. I tried one and liked but 3 tacos for $14.00 and 3 small enchiladas for $15.00 not worth it at all. Any other mexican restaurant these entries would of been half the price. Drinks are way over priced as well , $9 for a very  small margarita that's served in a 8 0z martini glass. Looks good but what a joke. I would of had to drink 10 of them to even get a slight buzz.. The waitress was very good and kept everyone happy. Overall food was ok for mexican nothing special and I like mexican food very much being orginally from San Diego which has some of best in the country!. Our bill for just the two of us was $105 which included a 20% tip. We would of spent less than half that at any other Mexican restaurant in Indy . Will we go back , probably not, it's just not worth the prices.

Wonderful evening. Great, unique food. Great, friendly service at a good pace.

Their guacamole apparently is the stuff of legends in Indy. I will admit that it is pretty damn good.

Their food was fresh and the place has great ambiance and character.

The only gripe I had was with the bartender. He was a Grade A Jerk! As soon as I sit down he asks for my ID. I tell him that it's in the car and I'm on my way to the airport. He says well you can't sit here then. I told him that I don't even drink alcohol and I have no desire to. Then says well I'm sorry. I snapped back at him and told him it's 5 degrees outside and my car is parked a few blocks away, all I want to do is eat my lunch and catch my flight. He finally says 'it's okay'.

I can understand if I was a younger looking person but I'm 35 years old, asking for my ID is ridiculous especially when I told you that I don't want to order a drink.

Then after that he was very rude and condescending towards my buddy and I who also didn't drink.

If I'm ever back in Indy I wouldn't mind coming back for the guac but I certainly won't be sitting at the bar again.
