Anong Thai is a great Thai resturant in an excellent location- right by the California Blue Line and steps away from Logan Boulevard.
Their pad thai is arguably the best in the city- cooked to perfection and the perfect mix of sweet, salty and spicy (which you can request- I usually get mine as hot as possible) and citrusy with a little bit of lime.
While dining in is nothing special, it makes for a cozy dinner spot and you can BYOB. All in all, this is a Logan Square gem that keeps me coming back.
2 years ago, this place was great, everything fresh. 1 year ago, this place started to lose its edge, most appetizers became deep fried. Now there isnt anything worth it left. I used to go for the Tom Yum Noodle soup, it was very very addicting. Now its no better than most thai places. Its very sad to see this place lose the vibe they had.
If you DO go, eat there. Delivery is an unpredictable nightmare, and carry-out leaves a lot to be desired. The portions are significantly smaller when not eating in. I went as far as to ask them for the "eat-in" portion, but to go. Their reply was "the containers dont fit as much as the bowl". I asked for 2 containers, she said she would "see what they can do". I received one container. Not a big deal I guess, but you would think that it would have been full.
