Amazing chicken shawarma sandwiches and homemade pita chips. We have ordered from Zachi once a week for the last couple of months and have never been disappointed. Great service and delicious food!
Just tried the soup of the day (lentil soup) and loved it. Try this place --You will not regret it!
What a great place! The food is fresh and delicious and very reasonably priced. Â The owner is very friendly and i love the free lentil soup sample. Â The soup was delicious and flavorful as was everything else on the menu. Â The tabouli was very lemony ( a little too much for me) but I thoroughly enjoyed my lunch. Â Great hummus and falafel! I will definitely be returning.
Review Source:Since I moved to Chicago two+ years ago, I've been searching for a falafel sandwich that does not pale in comparison to Pita Inn's. I had struck out on every attempt, until I strolled in to Zachi for late lunch yesterday. The gourmet sandwich ($6) comes with eggplant, fried potatoes, pickles, hot sauce, tahini, and a lot of other stuff I'm forgetting. It's very flavorful, and delicious. Of note, service is exceptional - the man serving my food insisted on frying me fresh falafel, which was amply worth the short wait, and gave a sample of free lentil soup, which was awesome on a 15 degree day. Hummus ($2) is somewhat loose and not as tangy as I like it; had I eschewed ordering this, Zachi would have earned five stars from me for sure. As it stands, it's easily my go-to for falafel in Chicago (proper, that is: Pita Inn still reigns supreme), and belongs on any short list for the best cheap eats in the city.
