Thank God they Remodeled. I drank here in my 20's and had bad puking spell that left a stain on the carpet..No stain remained.

I decided to give em a try again in my 40's because I read in LV Style Magazine that they were the best place to get a burger in the Lehigh Valley. ( Although I personally would rather go to Werts Cafe or The Burger Shack any day, Hell even Yocco's the Hot Dog King makes a better burger) .

Let's start with cleanliness and decor. I would say they are far from Divey but it is pretty dark in the Bar area to the point that if you just want to eat there and were never there to know to just sit anywhere, you'd be standing for a bit like we were.

There was about 10 people seated at the bar and no one in the dining room. Thankfully I had cash on hand, having not read the previous reviews on yelp that it's a cash only joint. Seriously if that's the case they need to make that clear somewhere, I didn't see it posted outside or even in the menu.

I was a little miffed at the no french fries issue but they must have a fryer because they sell deep fried chicken wings and mozzarella sticks, I guess they just prefer to not make french fries. It's a tad ridiculous that chips just don't come with the meal either.

Jess ordered the Baroness which is a BBQ chicken sammich. The waitress actually asked how she wanted it cooked. It's a chicken sammich for Christ's sake make sure it's cooked plain and simple...Makes me assume no one ever orders anything but the burgers. Came with a pickle and a hot pepper cut in half, she had a bag of chips extra as well.

I got the Baron which was a 1/2 lb huge burger with onions and cheese and BBQ Sauce and I got mushrooms instead of bacon. I got my burger medium.
The burger was cooked perfectly and juicy but bland, might help with a simple salt and pepper while ya cook it ya know toppings are great but i want a slightly seasoned piece of beef. I got a side of very yummy red potato salad but it came in a plastic take out container that was pretty small and came before my burger woulda been better if served on the plate with the burger.

Aside from those 10 people in the bar the dining area was empty but took a reallllllllllllllly long time for us to get our meals. The waitress was perky and not rude at all but eh, I just don't think they are THE BEST the Valley has to offer.

I'll make this short and simple.  The Beef Baron burgers are the best burgers you can get in the Lehigh Valley.  Always fresh beef, always consistent (for 30+ years!), and always good service.  Now if there would only be french fries and the ability to pay by debit or credit card I'd be here every week!

Heard allot about this place. A friend of mine went there today. A major disappointment. The much anticipated burger was anything but good. No taste. No seasoning which equal no taste. The bun was bad. Also, you cannot get fries because they don't serve them. Overall, this place was a major disappointment. I would not recommend this place.

Good food and good prices.  Bring cash they do not accept credit or debit cards. Great place to watch the game.

Beer is ice cold. The Baron Burger is easily the best burger in town. Perfectly cooked and juicy. Big screens for football Sundays. I will definitely go back.

Thanks to a waitress-in-training & possible confrontation-to-be, we've soured on this place.  A particular waitress became, what I felt to be, condescending towards us - especially me.  She seemed to mock me & exaggerate her smiles & 'perky' tone of voice towards me.  Sometimes it seemed like she would just ignore us when we came in & it would take forever for her to take our food order.  We dealt with her attitude simply because we so enjoyed Beef Baron's burgers.  On our 2nd-to-last visit this waitress was on duty, & she had a trainee waitress on duty w/ her.  She had the trainee waitress wait on us.  We had more than our usual to drink, including some shots, plus some food.  We paid the receipt that was given to us by the trainee waitress, leaving a good tip like we always did, & left.  As we headed home, my husband & I both agreed that the bill had seemed a bit low, & we wondered if Beef Baron had lowered their shot prices for happy hour.

The next time we came in, a different waitress came up to us saying that we hadn't left enough money the last time we had been in there & that the waitress who had been on duty that night wanted to talk to us.  We were a bit shocked by her approach but quickly realized she must mean that night we both thought the bill had been too low.  We explained to THIS waitress that perhaps the trainee waitress on duty that night had rung up our bill incorrectly, & we asked if we could just try & settle it up now.  She said 'no'.  We would have to speak w/ the other waitress & that it was OUR mistake for not leaving enough money.

Regardless of our states of mind, my husband & I are meticulous about checking our bills when we eat out.  What I remember is that we had been charged just $2 or $2.50 per shot that 2nd-to-last visit.  We had 6 shots between us that night & we don't drink 'well' shots.  Perhaps the trainee waitress undercharged us for them.  If this was the case, then please don't blame your employee's error on your customers.  We would have gladly tried to correct the issue had the blame been placed on the appropriate party.  Instead, we felt like we were being attacked & accused of purposely short-changing a bill.

Too bad.  Because we still crave their burgers.

They are very slow with the orders, they have no fryer to make french fries and they don't take credit/debit card. Burger was burnt.

We visited here for the first time on a Friday evening, overall it was a mediocre visit.

On the upside the Baron has a very nice selection of beer, domestic and foreign.  Also, they have a solid fare of burgers and burger like offerings.

The Baron is surprisingly small child friendly having both a couple of juice selections, a separate dining area in the back and highchairs.

The service was competent and our server understood how it was to eat out with children and added to the experience.

On on the minus side as others have commented it's cash only and that fact ISN'T posted anywhere when you arrive.  The way our society is now cash is often a secondary option for an average person and they could be in for a nasty surprise.  I didn't see an ATM.

Also, no french fries.  That caught both R and myself off guard.  The food came slowly (over 30min for our party of 4 adults and 1 child) for what we ordered Burgers, the lack of other customers when we were seated.   In the end one of our party suffered through an incorrect order (medium rare instead of medium well).  Due to the influx of business was unwilling to wait for what we thought would be a significant delay.

It's worth a visit, just keep in mind that others have looked at the Beef Baron with what we think are rose colored glasses.

While this place might have once been great it's settled into middle aged mediocre dive bar with just hints of previous greatness.

I first found out about this place thanks to Yelp!  and thought I'd found a unique place to try for dinner.  Turns out my boyfriend had known about the place for a while and it wasn't a surprise, but oh well.  We're always looking for a good, small bar to grab a bite to eat and a good (read: not Bud Light or Yuengling) beer.

Beef Baron fits the bill and is close to home.  We've been there a handful of times and the beer selection is always good.  Last visit - 2 weeks ago - they had a seasonal Weyerbacher, the Yards Brawler, Spaten Oktoberfest, and several others of which I can't recall.

The burgers are delicious and made fresh on the grill.  They're actually fresh made black angus burgers.  They're not mystery meat patties or pre-fab frozen burgers.  Did I mention they're also reasonably priced?  The chili is also a good pick.  Service is friendly but can be a little slow if it's a busy evening.  Make sure to bring CASH as they don't accept credit or debit.

I'll keep this simple as it's a simple place.  Recently redone inside so everything is new, lost some atmosphere from the old setup but new is good too!

The food is very very good for "bar food", the burgers are awesome and are cooked as ordered instead of everything well done.  Prices are fantastic and if that wasn't all good enough, the beer selection is very very good.  I wasn't expecting that kind of beer selection from this place at all, mostly bottles but even a few good drafts.

If you're in the area and looking for something simple or just a place to start for a few good beers, DEFINITELY stop in.  Only downside is you can still smoke in the front room... need to get rid of that non-sense.

The bar was great.  Burgers were the best.  I will definitely be going back frequently.

    Beef Baron, FTW!!!

Whenever I'm in Bethlehem, I insist on visiting the BB.  Nothing says Old Steel Town like a classic, beat down looking strip mall bar with an astounding array of very good brews.

I've had the food once, and it was forgettable but really; who goes to the BB for the food?  Not me, I go for the ambiance and overall kick assness.

Ah, the Beef Baron.  I first came here when I turned 21 back in the day and had a blast (I think!?).  As Charly J stated, the inside of this place has completely changed.  This place used to be a dark, cramped place but they did a really good job in sprucing it up and making a lot more room to move around.  The place is still dimly lit but trust me, it was way worse before.

The food is good and solid, - always has been from what I can remember.  Burgers are massive, juicy and very good.  I ordered the Red Baron burger medium and was barely able to get my mouth around it...barely being the operative word.  The menu is pretty inexpensive as a whole.  I don't think anything is above $8 or $9.  They have a pretty decent (and cheap) beer selection as well - both commercial and microbrews.

This is very much a local and unpretentious bar.  The bartenders definitely have their regulars who come in and they know exactly what they want.  Quick attentive service and definitely no brown-nosing to be found.  Maybe we got some really fast service because it was DEAD on a late Sunday afternoon, but hey, I ain't complaining.  Decent place, but nothing spectacular.  I'd come back again and won't wait another 10 years or so.
