THE GOOD
I love the hidden spot. It is right off the beach down a wee bit shady alley.

Bierbrunnen had nice park benches in the alley surrounded by dive inside the bar.

This is where the good ends.

THE BAD
The bartender did not know the price of certain beers. After helping the poor fellow figure out a price, we ended up paying $18 for a 750ml bottle of Chimay.

THE UGLY
They were out of stock on quite a number of beers. We were lucky to find the Chimay in the cooler.

I do understand why they would be open before they restocked, but I guess that is what we get coming in the afternoon.

I hang out here to be on the beach, but avoid the beach scene.  Few tourists, but I can still smell the ocean and feel the breeze.  Looking for good Deutsch essen?  Nope (but the food is tasty, especially when they pull out the Big Egg smoker on weekends - killer!).  Decent beer selection?  Yep.  Really friendly service?  You'll find it here.  It's laid back and not pretentious, so if your not and are you can find better choices further north on the beach.

Interesting beer joint tucked away in an alley in Fort Lauderdale.  Good variety of beers.  The offerings have changed from international to a more domestically oriented selection.  The bartenders are always interesting, the same one has never been there twice.  The place is getting a bit run down and grungy, but this probably adds to the offbeat hipster vibe.  There are periodic problems with the tap when one orders beer.  We've never ordered food here.  It's a fun place to spend an hour or two with a brew.
