Just spent a nice evening at Binkley's - a lot of good mixed in with some "meah" so I'll give up 4-stars, but not a convincing 4-star....
The atmosphere is convivial and the menu is several steps above the average bar menu. Â Among my group of 4 we tried the grilled salmon, the teriyaki tilapia, the grouper special and the BBQ chicken chopped salad. Â The salmon was a bit overlooked and had too much BBQ sauce (the menu said chipotle glaze). Â The salad was pleasant, the guacamole was a nice touch, but nothing special. Â The grouper and the tilapia were winners. Â Our waitress was a little slow at the outset but finished up well enough. On the whole, good value and good (just not stunning) food.
After dinner we moved to a table in the bar to catch the second half of the Butler - Xavier game - which was a lot of fun, despite the (I'll just say it) somewhat surely waitress (don't think she was too excited when we told her that we were just doing coffee and dessert).  In any event, the  berry crumble was simple but delicious.  Ask for it with a scoop of vanilla ice cream. Â
I rate this a " go" - and I'll go back - but I'll take the slow train with a lot of stops at other restaurants along the way, but I will definitely go back!
Binkley's is one of our regular spots. Â We usually sit in the bar but occasionally choose the dining room if the bar is extra loud. Â The food and service are solid. Â The red-pepper hummus with naan and onion rings are excellent. Â The soup of the day is usually a one-time only creation and quite good. Â I also like the bison burger but be sure to insist they not over cook it or it will be dry. Â I would like more salad choices but that a minor quibble.
Review Source:This review is long overdue as this is an almost weekly stop for us. It has been our usual because the service and food has always been good.
We've tried almost everything on the menu but some of our all time fav's are: Â tenderloins, fish sandwich, thai wrap, pulled pork, clamari, 'great' onion rings & all sides are good. Â I'm a serious fish eater! When in Maui or on the Florida coast, I will have it 2 or 3 times a day. Â --so I can say that this is 'the only' place in town that I haven't had a bad or slightly tainted fish sandwich. Â The iced tea is brewed fresh each day & I'm picky there too.
"I think" they have been there for 7 or 8 yrs and previously was the home of The Pawn Shop which moved to 54th St in SoBro. Â The atmosphere is really casual and comfortable. Â They have a nice bar which we choose on Sports days!
An unexpected not so good experience. Have always had good times here in the past. Atmosphere was very good, as was the service, but the food was not. Two people had Lemon Champagne Grouper and the quality of the fish was so bad they could not eat much of it. (It had the dreaded strong "fishy" taste. These are two ladies who eat a lot of fish so this was not a case of someone who doesn't eat fish disliking how fish really tastes.) The Adobo Steak Salad was OK but oddly spiced. I have had a lot adobo and this was not what I expected. The server tried to make up for the problems by comping dessert but it was too little too late.
Review Source:When they first opened I was less then impressed with the atmosphere the service and the food. I stayed away for years after my first experience there. I have since gone back a couple of times. I have got to say much improved. The food has taste and it has really been good. Each time back we have gotten the same server ( luck of the draw ) and she could not be better. Very friendly, refills on the spot, there when you need something but does not hover. We ended up there tonight after leaving Aristocrats. At Aristocrats we were quoted 30 minute wait at 8:30pm. After waiting 50 minutes. We left at 9:20 ad went to Binkleys. Â Although also very busy they had a table for two available. Thank you Binkleys.
Review Source:Went there for lunch and then back for dinner about a week later. Â Lunch was good with good sandwiches. Dinner however was just meh. Â They have a good selection and diversity of foods, probably too many things on the menu which is why nothing seemed amazing and it was all just ok. Prices seem a bit higher than they should be for the quality of the food.
Review Source:This is way out of our usual path, but we were taking Grandpa out to celebrate his birthday and wanted to go a more exciting neighborhood than he's used to :)
It was super easy to get a primetime reservation on a Saturday. We were seated in their large group room that is used for business lunches, etc. We thought it might be a quieter alternative than the rest of the restaurant and bar, but it turned out to be just as loud. Also, a weird observation--almost every single table in this room was off balance. Our waiter folded up napkins to put under table legs several times. Time to get some new furniture?
People in our group had ribs, filet, pulled pork, and the pesto tortellini. Everyone seemed pretty pleased with their meals. The ribs and filet were eaten with no complaints. The BBQ sauce was great, but the pulled pork itself was meh. The pesto was creamy, but the tortellini left a little to be desired. Sides were coleslaw (high compliments), salad (very carrot heavy?), and onion rings (not great).
We don't have anything against it, but we probably wouldn't tell all of our friends about it either.
My mom begs me to take her here every time she visits me from out of town, and I never oppose. Binkley's never lets me down.
First of all, there is a great selection of beer and wine to choose from. All of the appetizers I have tried are great, but I would recommend the bruschetta, which is very rich. If you get a salad, be prepared for zesty dressing no matter which you choose. Those with a sensitive palate may want to get the dressing on the side.
For the main course, I always have a hard time deciding because everything sounds so good. I usually go with a pasta since they are so delicious and I can save the leftovers for a great meal the next day. You cannot go wrong with the pasta.
The only thing that could make the experience at Binkley's more complete is a more distinct personality. When friends ask me to describe the place, I don't know exactly what to say about the ambience. While the food is creative, the restaurant's atmosphere is pretty standard.
I love Binkley's. Â It's my go to spot when I want a quick dinner date or a meal out without dealing with Broad Ripple Village. Â
The food is great. Â I'm always happy with what I order, and my friends enjoy their food as well. Â My parents raved about the tenderloin sandwiches last time I took them here.
I usually sit in the bar, because I don't want to wait for a table to open up. Â The bar and restaurant are like two completely different establishments. Â The service is pretty terrible in both, hence the 4 stars. Â I seem to always have to ask for refills, and I know if I go I'll be waiting a long time for service.
Parking is trouble as well. Â The lot simply isn't big enough, and I've had to park down the street a few times. Â
All in all: it is worth the bad service and insufficient parking to me. Â I love their food, and the outdoor dining will be much utilized this summer!
Binkley's is a local casual American-type restaurant-bar that offers a range of classic dishes from creative salads, unique pasta dishes, and the home-grown pork tenderloin sandwich - plus so much more. Â The price is comparable with other American chains, but seems to have a bit more variety and quality from the menu.
The service is somewhat lacking; not the speediest, but not the worst I've ever experienced - not by a long shot. Â The dinning area can also get a bit noisy, sometimes it's more like bar atmosphere than a restaurant. (which is not always a bad thing!) Â
When I feel like some local American fare, Â I'm glad Binkley's is just down the road!
I have experienced this place in two distinct ways.
1) a basic "American" lunch/dinner establishment with nice beer on-tap.
2) An astoundingly creative restaurant that can adequately complement a difficult beer menu.
Let's start by addressing #2: the Founders beer dinner on Jan. 31 was resplendent with creatively prepared animal fat - fried pork belly, grilled halloumi (I'd never heard of this), goat cheese + salmon sushi, rare duck breast. rare venison - and I'd never encountered such concentrated culinary delight alonside fantastic beer.
But then, #1, the regular menu offers typical sandwiches and salads and meat dishes, devoid of culinary intrigue. This is what I've seen in the past. Average 'em out, and we get, like, 4 stars or something.
This place has improved IMO....better tv's...nicer staff...and an excellent and changing draft beer selection....sometimes it seems the beers are chosen haphardly...perhaps with a nod to the relative hotness of the beer rep...but..nonetheless....not budlightmillerlightcoorslight....and blue moon..and guiness
Pizza I think is quite good...with the crust having a nice bit of corn meal...never burned that seems to be de-rigueur with the hip pizza crowd these days...I don't mind the burnt crust...but don't have to have it to consider a pizza "quality".
Other menu items have been better than average pub grub...at reasonable prices...vegetables choices are there...and not swimming in that fake butter crap (whirl, phase or something) that is the color of urine from a cat in late stage renal failure.
Nice decor, pleasant ambiance, slightly older crowd on average...nice folks !
This place is like a locally owned O'Charleys with a good beer list. Â I mean that in the most complimentary way possible. Â The food is standard American fare - sandwiches, steaks, seafood. Â Nothing too exotic. Â Everything I have tried has been good. Â I appreciate that they have good grilled (broiled?) asparagus instead of the usual assortment of buttery veggies or potatoes. Â Plus, they have a very nice beer list with an emphasis on local products while still keeping some regional favorites, like Bell's. Â The location is prime. Â They have a parking lot. Â They take reservations. Â A very safe bet for dinner.
Review Source:We've driven past Binkley's millions of times and I always say that I want to check it out. So we decided to go there for Sunday brunch, but I was so disappointed with the brunch menu that we ordered off the lunch menu instead. The brunch menu was really small and nothing really seemed appealing. I ordered a house salad, tomato & mozzarella on ciabatta bread off their seasonal lunch menu and a side of fries. My fiancé ordered the Caribbean chicken wrap (also off the seasonal menu) and the soup of the day which was a creamy, red bell pepper soup. The house salad was really good and my sandwich was really tasty. It was big enough for two people so I shared half with my fiancé. And that was a good thing because the Caribbean chicken wrap was not so great. The chicken was so dry and hard and it seemed like all the seasoning was on just the bottom of the wrap and not on the chicken. And the red bell pepper soup was.. different. We don't quite know how to explain it. I think it was weird for me because I wasn't expecting it to taste like a sweet & sour soup. Personally I think we've been jinxed with soups since our odd soup experience in South Dakota. :P
So overall it was just okay for us. I really enjoyed my sandwich and I would definitely come back to try the other ones on the menu. And it seems like Binkley's would be a great place to have a beer and some appetizers with friends. So next time we'll check it out with our gang in the evening.
I had high hopes for Binkley's considering the outside appearance and the expansive menu -- and my dad's recollection of dining here when it was known as the Pawn Shoppe Pub. The inside is pretty swift-looking -- lots of dark wood, low light, a quiet ambiance (plus a nice-looking larger room off the main restaurant which the menu advertised could be reserved for large outings) -- and you can tell a lot of hard work has been put in to update the place as a whole.
Unfortunately, looks weren't everything here. The lunchtime dining experience was simply average. Our waiter seemed 'out of it' and had two orders (out of four) wrong -- despite having to ask twice for each person to re-state their order. My dad ordered the barbeque chopped chicken salad and received the Cobb salad and my fiance received green peppers instead of green onions on her pizza. I get the mix-up from green onions to green peppers, but how do you mess up 'barbeque chop chicken' to 'Cobb'?
I tried the Turkey & Artichoke panini and my aunt sampled the Deluxe Grilled Cheese panini. The turkey & artichoke was tasty but it was overstuffed with 'chokes -- it literally fell apart. I was intrigued by the herb cream cheese spread but couldn't taste it due to the overpowering artichoke (the juices also made the pressed sandwich a bit soggy). My aunt enjoyed the grilled cheese, which was perfectly prepared and looked...cheesy, but really, how hard is it to mess up grilled cheese? Despite receiving the wrong order, my dad thought the Cobb salad was tasty. Looking back, we should have made a fuss -- I'm sure the bbq salad would have been better. I sampled the pizza and it was solid -- good tasting cheese + ham on a thin crust; the green peppers had some snap to them. The side dishes weren't much to write home about; I'm pretty sure my 'fresh fruit' dish wasn't as fresh as advertised.
Despite the waiter being 'out of it,' he was quick with drink refills and generally friendly. As I review the dinner menu online (not available since we had lunch) while writing this review and while there are a few items not available at lunch, it would not be enough to make me return to Binkley's, though they DO seem to have a fascination with this herb cream cheese. While Binkley's is a HUGE step above any chain restaurant you'll find in the Indianapolis area, the fact remains that even with frequent visits to my hometown, there are so many other places I'd rather visit for lunch.
I adore Binkley's!
Super friendly staff, great drinks (named and created by people who work there), and delicious food have always made me leave a happy customer.
Personally, I like the changing seasonal menu and the brunch the most. However, it can be a great late night spot to stop with friends, even on a weeknight. My favorite drink so far is the SoBro cocktail, frozen.
Definitely worth supporting this local business!
Boss: The office is closing so let's meet in the bar at Binkley's at 59th and College.
Me: Â Great idea and I suggest all future department meetings be held at a bar.
Boss: OK, we'll go to Binkley's from now on if that works for you guys.
Really, shouldn't all work be done in bars? Why should the bartenders be the only ones getting paid to be there?
I haven't actually eaten here but the menu seems to be pretty standard fare. The drink selection is pretty good with 16 (?) taps of macro and micro brews. Pints are $2 off on Mondays and I took advantage of that by having the gingerbread stout from Triton, a brewery right here in Indy.
Great service and decent prices. I'll see you at the next meeting!
I frequently get lost outside of Broad Ripple when I'm trying to find The Flying Cupcake, and I had noticed Binkley's on the corner of College and Kessler several times during my early Indy exploration. The "Kitchen and Bar" tagline caught my eye, and the exterior of the building looked crisp and inviting. When I finally decided to give it a shot, I was impressed with the cozy interior- candles at every table, and a sharp, clean decor that was minimalist and classy. The atmosphere lends itself to a certain air of swankiness, but it's a casual, quiet place.
The menu, however, was unimpressive. There wasn't anything on it that I was dying to have, and what I ended up ordering was a let down in more than one way. My boyfriend and I were both intrigued by the goat cheese appetizer from the seasonal dinner menu, so we decided to try it. The goat cheese is baked in marinara and served with naan, but the marinara was so strong that you really couldn't even taste the goat cheese- it was more or less a bowl of marinara with two blocks of goat cheese floating in it.
The dinner menu is pretty standard- salads, sandwiches, and pizza make up the bulk of it, with a small selection of pasta and seafood dishes and an even smaller category for "steaks, chicken, & ribs." Like I said, nothing really stuck out to me, so it was a tossup between the crab cakes and fish tacos, since I was in the mood for seafood but didn't feel like spending too much money. I opted for the fish tacos because the citrus cole slaw and mango salsa sounded tasty, but they turned out to be a bad combination.
The salsa was way too juicy, so the tacos were a real pain to eat with all the dripping and slipping. The fish itself was supposed to be citrus grilled but had a spicy kick to it that I wasn't expecting and that didn't mesh that well with the other flavors, and by the time I gave up on them they were a soggy, mangled mess that made me wish I had ordered something simpler, like a burger. In my opinion tacos are pretty hard to mess up, but these just weren't executed to their full potential, and combined with the disappointment of the goat cheese they made for a pretty mediocre meal.
The one thing I did really enjoy about Binkley's was their impressive beer and wine menu, with lots of locally brewed and imported beers. Maybe the lunch menu is better, but after my unsatisfying appetizer and main course, I doubt I'll ever go back.
I've been to Binkley's half a dozen times and I have to, grudgingly, say it fills a particular role quite well. Need a quiet place for an afternoon client meeting? Binkley's is quiet, has a nice bar and a decent appetizer menu. Need a restaurant for entertaining family guests? B's menu is varied but no too serious or expensive. Power gone out at home? B's is cozy. Service is okay, food is okay. A neighborhood place with a light touch of swank.
Review Source:Casual and inviting, yet upscale and clean, everything about Binkley's says, to me: "welcome, relax, and enjoy a caliber, but no-nonsense meal and drinks".
The atmosphere is comfortable and relatively quiet. I noticed that, at least in the restaurant, the tables seemed relatively spread out -- avoiding the sensation of sitting in a crowded space. We didn't have to wait too long for a table either -- which was really nice.
Our server was very friendly, and really knowledgeable about the menu. I despise servers who always use "It seems to be a really top seller" as a euphemism for "I don't know", "have never tried it", or "I just started here and have no idea what's even on our menu".
Our food was delicious. Upscale, adult flavors, but not too pretentious. I had a Bison Burger (wonderfully prepared); my girlfriend enjoyed a pasta dish that made her start Googling recipes upon our return home.
All in all, I'm a fan, and I'm headed back.
One of my favorite go to places in town when I just want a good meal in a great atmosphere without being way overcharged. Â The menu is extensive and the chef's take time particularly with the more interesting dishes. Â If you want a burger and fries there are probably better choices. Â It is a wonderful place to hang out, watch a game, have a drink, etc. Â There are more residents here than students typically. Â The outdoor seating is nice when the Harley's are not going by and it is not mosquito time (not sure where they are coming from with pavement all around). Â I wish they had a section of the outdoor seating that was dog friendly.
Review Source:Great atmoshphere, good beer selection, good burger....but do not get the blueberry crisp dessert.....it was gross. Â Basically like a berry soup with instant oatmeal sprinkled on top.
But, not to worry! Â We told our server it was horrible and she happily took it off the check. Â
Overall, a nice place and it should be a good place to watch a game!
In my humble opinion, one of the most solid and underrated restaurants in the area.
Since it's a two block walk from my house, I've been here dozens of times. It's the default pick when the parents are in town, or when I'm looking for good food with a menu that will appeal to most everyone. I also pick up carry out frequently
I have never had one problem with service, which is amazing considering how many times I've given them chances to. This is a place that you see the same staff all the time, not a high turn over place. I like those sorts of places, it says good things about the ownership/management and the relationship among the staff. A happy staff provides better service, cares more and makes better food.
Let me start with the star: the pizza. Outstanding. Wasn't expecting this the first time I went there. The crust appears housemade fresh, and it is a cornmeal crust, which I love. (This is referring to their "regular" crust, haven't tried the thin.) They use a blend of cheeses, and they sing. The sauce is zesty, very good too, and they cook the pizza perfectly - a little on the well done/crisp side that makes for wonderfully browned cheese.
The house salad is delicious, mixed greens and not boring romaine or iceberg. The dressings are housemade and I have a hard time choosing between honey mustard and ginger lime vinaigrette.
The nacho appetizer is good too. This is the type that has an individual construction on each nacho, which is then baked - not a big pile of chips garnished with haphazardly applied toppings. The artichoke dip that's on the current spring menu is good, but I wish it were served with bread instead of tortilla chips.
Speaking of the spring menu, yes, they have an additional seasonal menu available all the time.
I've had both the Pesto Tortellini and Penne with Sun Dried Tomatoes & Wild Mushrooms pastas. The pesto is a creamy pesto, which is not my preference, but still these are both delicious pastas.
The only reasons I don't order them more often are I'm a freak for pizza, and pizza reheats a lot better than creamy sauces. I will say that although the cream sauces on both these dishes separate when you reheat them (and I never have dairy on hand to touch it up), they are still delicious reheated.
Next, the beer list. I am a beer person. They have an exceptionally good beer list for your average restaurant that is not looking to be a beer bar. Founder's, Three Floyd's, Left Hand, Sun King, Tyranena, etc. are regulars on the always-changing list, and they do have special tappings too (hook up with them on FB). They have a beer club too.
There is a great outdoor screened in patio for warmer weather. I'm not a big fan of patios overlooking busy roadways (College Ave), but they do the best one can hope to make that fade into the background. There are plants and it is just the right amount of enclosure. It's cozy, and later in the evening when the traffic dies down it is especially nice out there.
Surprises me to see how meager the love for Binkley's is here. Give them a chance. I think you will be pleasantly surprised.
When I go to a new city, I always want to know where their specialty is..could be pizza or frozen dipped bananas, whatever, I just want to know. So I messaged MJ W. in your Indy network and asked him what I should get for lunch, he said Indianapolis' speciality is breaded tenderloins, YES! That's pretty much one of my favorite sandwiches, ever!
I'm at my conference, ask a guy who was attending and he said Binkley's was close, quick, fun and delicious, so we went, obviously!
There is A LOT of people here on a Sunday afternoon but it makes sense, college football is still on and it's a college town. Parking stinks so we parked in a neighborhood down the street.
My friend and I order the breaded tenderloin sandwiches and french fries, didn't even need to think about it.
We got our meals and omg, this is a giant tenderloin! I guess they cut it right off so it's not perfectly shaped. I use all my veggies and sauces and bite into it...amazing.
Minus one star because the fries were luke warm and kinda mooshy like they had been sitting out for a while waiting for the tenderloin to get done, but oh well. Our meals and drinks ended up totaling $22.00 which isn't bad at all!
So glad we got to stop by here!
Been to Binkley's a half dozen times and it has been pretty consistent. Average bar food for the most part. I do like the loaded nacho's and the salads are always fresh. I do prefer to sit in the bar when I go with friends; I like that is feels like a separate place from the dining room. The French Martini is pretty great and they carry some nice wines by the glass at an affordable per glass price.
Parking can be a bit hairy on the weekends, so be prepared to park on the street.
Recommended by a fellow Yelper, I drove my fam here after a nice day at the Indy Children's Museum. Binkley's is the definition of a neighborhood gem, and they do it well. Everything you could want in a go-to restaurant, nice menu, fine service, great dining space.
Pesto tortellini was terrific. All the pasta dishes were terrific. Not always easy for a cas dining joint to do. i wouldn't be afraid to order anything off the menu. Complimentary bread (focaccia) was terrific. All of this gets Binkley's four stars.
The fifth star comes from two things. First, we didn't have reservations. We arrived so early in the evening, I assumed reservations weren't necessary. But, they were already busy. They were expecting first seating, but they accommodated us. We promised to eat fast! Second, we had the two year old nephew with us, and he became cranky as soon as we sat at the table. Server was superb. Brought us food and that calmed him down. I wouldn't bring small children here late on a weekend evening, but they treated us very well, and that gets them the fifth star.
A final note. Binkley's has started serving Flat 12 beer on tap. As I understand, they're the first location to serve it. I had the amber. It was terrific. Flavor changed as the beer warmed. Just a variety of flavors.
So, make reservations. If you need a decent place to take family and friends, Binkley's has you covered. they also have a banquet room.
Binkley's is our favorite neighborhood bar/restaurant. Â Great selection of beers on tap and a diverse menu w/ above average American food. Â The service in the dining area seems to be a bit slow, so we always sit in the bar area. Â It can get crowded on days when Colts or Butler plays, so get there early for a good table.
Review Source:I came here again last night with a friend hoping to up the star level...not to be. Â I ordered the fish and chips and the portion size was shockingly small...for the price. Â Just two small pieces of fish, a tiny handful of fries and the sides that were offered were almost all different types of potatoes...WTF?! Â I ended up ordering the onion rings as my side item. Â I had expected the usual serving size so that I could take half back for lunch today. Â However, the onion rings WERE very good...probably the best part.
The wine we had was decent, my friend had the House Chardonnay and I had a Malbec. Â Since it was such a nice evening, we sat out on the patio. Â The plus side is that it wasn't stuffy...the minus side is that our waitress tended to ignore us...and the place wasn't really all that crowded inside until a pub crawl bus showed up, but they only stuck around for about 30 minutes, so that really wasn't an excuse.
My hiking club likes to come here after our Monday evening hikes, but I think they should find a new haunt.
This is one of our favorite restaurants. Â They have a wide selection of food. Â They also have a full bar. Â I triple love their breaded pork tenderloin sandwich. Â Best I have had in a restaurant. Â My partner likes the blue cheese hamburger. Â The prices are reasonable. Â You get a lot of food. The wait staff and Management go out of their way to make sure you have a great experience. Â
Warning: Â you may want to smack yourself for not going before now. Â ;-)
Overall, an okay experience. Â Wish I could give a half star on this one. Â Not a fan... yet.
The hostess seemed a bit annoyed that our group of 10 showed up for lunch on Sunday. Â I realize it's a large group, but it's still MONEY, so you'd think that she would have been a little more accomodating.
However, the waitress was really nice. Â She was very attentive and got everything right.
As far as the food, I'm trying to eat well so I ordered the veggie wrap. Â It was decent. Â A little too much red onion and the dressing and hummous weren't very flavorful. Â The side of fruit was pretty tasty though. Â Good fruit in January must be expensive!
However, the burgers that everyone else ordered looked AMAZING. Â After my wedding in a few weeks, I'll be back to mow one of those things down. Â The blue cheese burger looked especially good.
Really liked Binkley's. Met a few friends here for dinner and drinks, and I was impressed.
I ordered the herb stuffed chicken... wow. It was excellent. It was chicken stuffed wtih some cheeses and herbs and covered in a mushroom sauce! Good stuff. Came with really good mashed potatoes.
They have a huge menu including everything from sandwiches to pizza to pasta to chicken and other meat dishes. Everyone was really happy with their choices. My dinner came with a tomato parmesan soup which was excellent as well!
Lots of beers on draft and the staff is really friendly and helpful. We had to wait about 30 minutes, but it was 7pm on a Friday night, so, understandable. Overall, a really nice place to eat and have some drinks.
I guess I will go back here...it wasn't amazing, but I think I was there and had an anomalous experience. I thought the crab dip was fine, I'd rather have soft bread with it, but that is no big deal.
The problem came in that...my server, who was a nice kid, ordered the wrong dish. Which, as a server, I know that sort of thing happens, so I wasn't overly upset. The food took a while to come back out, which I don't mind either because that meant they cooked it right...which isn't so good, because the dish lacked any sort of...i dunno...flavor.
I had the pork chops, and pork is my favorite carnivorous treat. The chops didn't have anything going for them and the presentation reminded me of my dinner at the hotel we had our prom at...boring. Too man rubbery green beans, and mashed potatoes that looked like they came from an ice cream scoop.
The misses had her standard burger and it was ok, gave it the usual, "meh, it's ok."
The atmosphere is great, though the dinner crowed skews older. The bar is cool, and the lack luster wine list, is display in an awesomely spectacular cabinet.
So, yeah I'll go back, if for nothing else to try other things. And, they have Peroni on tap.
Binkley's is too uptight for my taste. Â The dark wood decor is welcoming, but the servers are not. Â
My crab dip was left under a heatlamp way too long. Â I thought it was because my dining partner ordered a 1/2 pound burger, but it turns out his burger was from a perfectly shaped prepressed frozen patty (gross) so it should have cooked quickly. Â Â
Nothing about this place will draw me back.
I've been by here countless times going to and from my favorite Haus, but  for whatever reason, I've just never stopped in.  I had a business lunch here a few days ago and was pleasantly surprised.  The decor is open and airy (beautiful hardwoods) and even though the seating is in a booth/table format and you are really close to the people next to you, it's fairly private. Â
Minus one star for the overly creamy mushroom soup. Â I can't put my finger on it, but it just tasted strange. Â
Very attentive and friendly waitstaff.
