Had lunch and the beef brisket was the best I have ever had. Great atmosphere and very reasonably priced. Wait staff was wonderful. Great food, great price, great service - what more is there?

After moving to St. Louis and learning Blueberry Hill was THE place to eat at if you wanted to experience true St. Louis based food. I have to say that if this place represents the food this city has to offer, I think you should find a better representation for the food here. After living in town for a few months, I've come to learn that it is in fact more of a touristy kind of place but locals still enjoy going there to see shows, drink some brews and grabbing a quick bite to eat. I can see the why people come here but I don't see why it is a place to continue to return to. I had the special of the day, which was the sloppy joe served with potato chips. I did enjoy it, at first, then my heart began to give out because of all the grease. hahaha. They have other, less greasier options but the menu is massive and I just couldn't decide on what I wanted because there was so much to choose from. The service was good, there are a lot of hipster kids working there which I found hilarious. Hipsters look cool, what can I say?

The environment was really neat, a bunch of things to look at on the walls and the restaurant itself is huge and filled with knick knacks all over the place. It does get kind of loud in there but nothing unmanageable. One thing that I did like was the live music area.  Tucked away in the basement, there was a huge stage and plenty of room for dancing, along with a full bar. The atmosphere was neat and and aspect I would definitely return to. As far as the food goes, I don't feel like I am missing out on much.

As far as the touristy aspect, I WAS expecting to meet Chuck Berry. I'm just saying, I thought it would've been cool if he was in the back cooking burgers or something.

I wish I could give half ratings. I wouldn't quite give it a 4 but 3 seems a bit low.

The local vibe is felt here, and the legendary Chuck Berry is said to play here once a month. The wooden booths are intimate and there is low lighting. Now, for those that know and read my reviews, you know I don't like dim places. I like to see my food clearly. And let's face it. I need good lighting to take those food pictures. But it wasn't too bad a lighting.

The service was fine. I ordered a regular classic burger with Provel cheese. Now I thought this was Provolone cheese (ha) so I picked the wrong cheese. Stick to cheddar cheese people. Anyway the beef was thick and had a barbecued flavor to it. It really reminded me of grilling with friends and having a good ol' burger.

The fries were pretty good also.
But with so many other great options in downtown St. Louis, I would pass and try other places. Unless you want to hear Chuck Berry, of course.
