    Mmm!

I don't understand why people think that this is good pizza. The dough is so basic and the sauce is too watery. I feel like it is way over priced and the owners are so cheap that they send you the pizza in a paper bag. I requested a cardboard box like what you get everywhere else and was told I would be charged extra. ARE YOU SERIOUS?

When I got the pizza, the smell didn't make me want to rip into and eat every bite. I never ever ever walk away from a slice of pizza. EVER! I ate a few bites and made myself a frozen pizza and finished that instead. Needless to say, I will never eat here again.

Got an italian beef combo for lunch one day.  The italian beef itself was quite disappointing, but they did use good bread.  The order of fries they gave me was mammoth, and the price was right, but ultimately, I gotta rate this place down for the beef itself.  I would have sworn they'd do pizza by the slice here, too, but they don't.

In other news, I was kinda shocked to see the rave reviews here...and then I noticed that most of them are from people who aren't anywhere near Schererville.  What's up with that?

I really stumbled upon this place by accident as I was making the trek from New York to Chicago to pick up my brother. Neither here nor there. Let's just say I left it up to the fates of Garmin as I was peddling through.

In any case, this pizza is delicious, crisp and fresh. I'm talking, you just keep eating-until-it's gone-not-that-you-are-full delicious. And then you order another to go because it's a long trip with your brother and no one should be alone. Rarely do I give a shout out to employees BUT the staff was abundantly friendly, helpful and knowledgeable on their product. Reminds me why I love the Midwest.

Any day of the week, I would go out of my state/timezone to be there.

Capri Pizza has moved to the top of our list for favorite pizza places--and for broasted chicken too!!! Comfortable dining room, affordable prices, great variety and out of this world flavor.

We ordered the large pizza to go.  I think it was the first time I ever had the choice of ordering "thin" crust or "really thin" crust pizza.  We ordered the really thin crust with double sausage, pepperoni, onion, mushroom, and cheese.  We waited in part in their on site seating.  They have a nice place with about 15 tables in red checked tablecloths.  There was a regular stream of customer picking up and a couple of boys doing deliveries.  The pizza was ready in 30 minutes.  It was quite good and very cheesy.  The crust was thin and crispy.  The price was also a nice surprise, $18.67 with tax.  We pay about $26.00 for the same size pizza with the same options elsewhere in town.

First Time trying their Pizza, Ordered Take-out.  Was done quickly and fresh.
We tried several topping on a thin-crust pizza. Overall, very consistant.  Cheese was awesome, and the sauce had a very good flavor.   Very excited to try other menu items !!!

I have had pizza from all walks of life; from the worst to the best. Once even had a sausage pizza in pennsylvania made with breakfast sausage. Enough about the worst, let's talk about some of the best. Capri - solid Chicago southside love here. And they represent well, not only with product, but with attitude and service. Don't believe me? Either way give it a try and you will see for yourself.

This pizza is off the chain! Why is pizza on a chain you may ask? Cause somebody has to set it free. Free to get into my belly. No but seriously it's good pizza. And the broasted Chicken ain't bad either. And the spicy wings are delicious. AND the chicken strips, and my God the juiciest fried shrimp in these parts! I don't know what that manhattanite is talking about because this is some good local pizza!

I highly recommend this delicious pizza!

I'd first like to preface this review by stating the obvious: Cris V. "from Manhattan, NY" - you are a royal D*BAG. I saw your review and was surprised by your words.  So to validate your credibility, I quickly rummaged your reviews to see what, exactly, is your idea of good pizza.  Hoping that, at the very least, you'd be able to throw out a good Manhattan pizza joint? Uhhhh... negative.  In fact, your only additional pizza review is a whopping 5-stars for a Gino's East in Highland, IN. Ha!

'Nuff said, "Manhattanite". (Also noteworthy: Cris V. has zero Yelp friends. Shocker.)

    So let's talk Capri!

The Schererville location is the newest and by far the nicest and most accommodating of Capri's pizzerias.  There is lots of space to dine in, and everything is brand new and spanking clean.  The menu remains: all-star pizza, mouth-watering broasted chicken, flavourful beef sandwiches --  all with such old world South Side Italian personality... whatever you order, you are bound to get a kick of the good stuff. And I mean the realllly good stuff.  : )

If you want classic original pizza, stop in to Capri's Schererville location - they have been in business for decades and it shows in their food and in their service.  With awesome lunch specials as well as catering options, this family-run pizzeria will soon be your go-to pizza place.

Hands down the best pizza I had ever had. In Chicago, New York, & beyond! And I'm a foodie.

An Italian foodie, no less!  = )

Based on all these 5 star reviews, we ordered 2 large pizzas from Capri and wondered what the 5 star reviewers were thinking.  They were edible but average.  The dough was mediocre.  It felt like an amateur night at the pizza factory.  Utterly unremarkable.  There is much better to be had in the area.

Alone, in the darkness of mediocre pizza I walked.  NAY I WILL NOT SUFFER ANOTHER BLAND PIE.  Like Gandalf, from up high I fought the Balrog of bad pizza and collapsed, ready to give up on the dream of great pizza.  In the aftermath, I felt a hand pick me up, give me water and feed me a pizza topped with fried macaroni and cheese.  I lived, I lived because I had tasted flavor.  I then found myself on a beach, walking and collapsing.  Again I was magically carried.  I turned around around and saw one set of footprints, I looked up and saw that I was being watched over and carried by a pepperoni and giardinera pizza.  When I was in the jungles of Central America, a giant pizza stuffed with itlalian beef and pepperoni gave me the idea of covering myself in mud to conceal my heat signature from the predator.
At every great moment in history, Capri's Pizza has been there to see us through dark times.

Great pizza? Or Greatest Pizza Ever.

    You decide.

    That's right, GREATEST PIZZA EVER.

UGH whoever posted the picture of that CHEESE PIZZA. I'm so hungry now so thanks a lot.

This place is goood. Like real good. It's unfortunately an hour and some change away from Chicago but look, when you want a good pizza, go to Capri's. Trust me I know my pizzas. I'm working on my PhD in pizza so there you go.

I first tried Capri's at Pierogi Fest in Whiting IN. It's strange my favorite food at a polish festival was pizza but it's true. It was sooooo good me and my fiancee would drive from South Holland IL all the way to Whiting to get it and it was take out or delivery only so we had to take it all the way back to South Holland.

So when we found out there was one in Schererville and it was dine in we were so excited. It's in a little strip mall kinda easy to pass up. Cute little dining area off to the right when you walk in and a counter straight ahead that you place your order/pick up your food.

We got some french fries too munch on before our pizza and they were pretty good, nothing amazing but good none the less. Then the pizza came and it was amazing, we got our favorite double dough pepperoni. The crust is thick and perfectly chewy with a great kind of sweet sauce and a ton of delicious cheese perfectly melted on top. Not sure what it is about the pizza but it is seriously so damn good, everything works perfectly.

The service was very friendly and helpful. If you dine in you order at the counter and they will bring your food to you when ready. Self service fountain drinks which is great  as well. The food came very fast and piping hot. We got asked if everything was ok a few times and the young woman came over and talked with us and our daughter who had just seen Santa which was very nice and sweet. She even came back with a chocolate for her which my daughter loved. You can tell they really care about the customer and the food being sent out.

We plan on being regulars and really hope to see this location do well. Check it out if your nearby and its worth a drive if your not.

First timer - Very good sauce and cheese- a little sweet but nothing to crazy. Standard crust is a little to thick for my taste so next time I will order the X-Thin.
Son ordered cheese sticks and he enjoyed those as well. Hard to go wrong with fried cheese though. Good value for size of pizza too....Medium sausage for $13 is not to bad for freshly prepared pizza IMO.  Overall I would recommend and will definitely order again.

this place kinda makes me lose my mind and any semblance of self control.  the pizza is beyond tasty.  like you know other places that cut their pieces into squares and you feel like a piglet because you just ate 25 squares without blinking (wait, you don't do that?!)?  well, not this place.  for some reason, the quality of the product and just how tasty it really is means i only eat like 3 squares to be totally sent into a happily-satisfied pizza coma.

then again.  it may be because my friends and i also always order bosco sticks.  and wings.  and poppers.  and whatever else strikes our fancy.  but back to the pizza:  perfect crust/sauce/cheese/topping (pepperoni and giardinera, tops) ratio and thats something i am very picky about.

just trust me, no matter what you order, it will be a good choice!!  plus, you can dine in or carry out, the world is your oyster!

Walk, don't run to Capri's new Schererville location. You won't regret it. Capri's isn't exactly "local" for me, but it's definitely worth the drive. The pizza and broasted chicken have been longtime Chicago staples, and you won't find this kind of food anywhere else...except in Schererville. LUCKY YOU!

If you're getting the pizza, which I highly recommend, go with my favorite: homemade sausage, pepperoni and giardinera. They absolutely nail it. The stuffed pizza is literally the best thing ever.

This location is also great because of the dine-in option, so you can take a load off and enjoy your food with a group. The ambience is great and feels like you're eating at home. The owners are great, and make you feel like family. There's definitely a reason Capri's has been around since 1955!

This place has to have the best pizza in the Midwest. Great pizza for a great price. You can not go wrong with a thin crust cheese.

Last time I visited with a group I had a beef/sausage combo, broasted chicken, and pizza. All of them were so tasty it is hard to say which one was my favorite. The best part is that it did not break the bank.

This is a brand new restaurant so it is very clean and everything is new. They have a great dining area you can go and grab a table to eat at. This is a family owned business and you can tell because it has that special touch that you don't get with chains like Gino's East or Domino's.  Visit Capri's Pizza and you will never want go back to any other location for your pizza.
