Chatterbox Bar

Chatterbox is NOT closed. Just went there last night. Nikki (or Nicki?), the first shift bartender from The Avenue around the block, took us here after her shift ended at The Avenue.  The room itself is smaaall, quite cramped feeling. The literal bar is long considering the size of the space. There are also some tables and a jukebox. I'd had a few drinks by now, so those are the only physical details that stand out to me.

What was great about the 'Box was the experience. It just so happened that a table full of regulars who knew Nicki turned out to live just down the street from me! They were all slightly older ladies and they come down here to get away from our neighborhood up north. I don't have enough neighbors with whom I'm friendly, so it was great to meet some other folks on the street. They said they have house parties all the time and invited me to stop by if I see them out cooking/etc. 'Netta kept raving about her Mexican street corn. She asked if I knew what that was and I said, "oh yeah, parmesan cheese, chilli powder..."  She was thrilled I knew what it was (best believe I do! I got corn on the cob tattooed on my arm, suckas!!!).

Some of the patrons can be a bit sketchy. I was told to stay away from a few people, but for the most part, it's a quaint little neighborhood bar. 75% of the people there were very friendly.
