Bar - Small holds maybe 30 or so people
Food - There are a few snacks for sale
Beer selection - Basic Budweiser and Miller stuff, you know, mostly domestics.
Alcohol selection - Well and call. Â Don't ask for premium here.
Bartender - Summer is soooo awesome. Â Go there once and she'll remember you forever. Â What a sweetheart!
Jukebox - Finally got a new one. Â The old one is probably in a 80's museum.
Clientele - Older ( Mostly 40's and up ).
Basic Yelp review for a basic neighborhood, local tavern. Â I'll be back again.
Love the local tavern feel.....very much like the corner bars I grew up around in Cincinnati. Have brought co-workers and friends in who have never been there....and they've loved it! Enjoy giving business to a place that really appericates it. Hope to frequent more often....and hope it doesn't get TOO POPULAR...enjoy the cozyness!
Review Source:This is the ultimate local-yocal bar... Â You'd swear you were walking into someone's home if it wasn't for the small neon signs on the subtle storefront tucked along an otherwise residential street.
I grew up in Pittsburgh and thought nothing of going into divey, little places that look like one's neighbor's house for a night of drinking. Â Columbus is a little different. Gritty character is hard to come by, but if you're gonna find it anywhere, it will be in German Village. Â
Sycamore Cafe has it. Gritty ambiance. Gritty patrons. Gritty attitude. It is totally unrefined - and I appreciate that, though I imagine it's not for everyone. Sycamore Cafe is situated neatly off a side street (away from the hustle and bustle of 'downtown' German Village). You might even miss it if the curtains on the front door are drawn shut. Â
There isn't much to say about this place, but you can catch a football game and drink to your heart's content for dirt cheap!
