This location: Is is the best Chipotle I have had? No. However, it is still Chipotle and still always satisfying.
This review is more for carl h. below me. Chipotle is a fast-food casual dining place. Sometimes you have to wait while they are cooking your food. They can't always be perfect. Just because you have to wait for things sometimes (knowing Chipotle it was probably like 5 minutes max) doesn't entitle you to free sh*t, nor does it mean their employees have to apologize to you. Â
I wish we could rate reviewers because that was such a stupid, stupid review.
just got back from Chipotle .....my wife and I Â had to wait for the steak to finish cooking as well as the pepper and onions. During our wait we of course let other people go ahead of us and when the food was done cooking they made our meal....now this is a small thing to have to wait for your food. Sometimes it happens however what sets chipotle apart from all the other places is that they care about you the customer. not this place I got done paying for my meal and gave it right back and will never be there ever again...I was offered no free taco or drink or anything...I would have settled for hey"sorry for your wait"....chipotle always goes above and beyond to make your experience great....this location does not care .....so I will go to the other chipotles where they take better care of you. now i'm not looking for a free hand out so they did not have to give me something free , however the other chipotles do, an apology for the wait would have done nicely.....this is a huge slip Chipolte always gives great service so when I see a location treating me like cattle it is offensive. I'm telling all my friends not to go to this location so pass the word.Already i've got three people to join my boycott . Also to add insult to injury the manager had no idea why i was angry. seems like she should have seen us standing there waiting and figure it out. If you like being made to feel like a number and poor service than thats the place for you.
Review Source:I usually enjoy Chipotle, but had a poor experience at this location. Â When I arrived, they were out of both steak and fajita veggies. Â I waited for several minutes, and let several customers go ahead of me. Â I received my food eventually, but never an apology or acknowledgement of the unusually long wait. Â In the future, I will choose to dine at a Chipotle with better customer service.
Review Source:I like this Chipotle. It's always clean, fresh, and everyone is friendly and works quickly. I tend to like Chipotle because I find the ingredients to be fresh and tasty very frequently. I also find it to be a consistent product as many chain burrito places, but I prefer these flavors over any chain burrito places.
Review Source:Let me start off by saying that I LOVE Chipotle. Â It is my usual, go-to spot and I still will visit; however, I will NOT be going back to the Belmont location specifically - and here's why.
I was on my way back from the airport at 9pm last night and asked the cab to stop off at Chipotle so I could run in just before they closed. Â I thought about it for a moment, but decided it is a professional establishment so I wouldn't have any trouble with my food, even though they close at 10pm. Â Well, I was dead wrong. Â I got my burrito bowl home and was halfway through it when I discovered I had several pieces of RAW chicken. Â Yes, you heard me right.
After a minor panic attack, I called the restaurant to let them know since I know those issues are supposed to be taken seriously by restaurants. Â The person who answered the phone told me I could come back for a free bowl; however, really didn't seem to care that they served me RAW CHICKEN. Â Perhaps it was late and they just wanted to go home, but I was NOT impressed and clearly they do not take the threat of food borne illness seriously. Â Definitely will not be going back to this place. Â Eat at your own risk - and if you do have an issue, don't expect them to care.
Chipotle is a restaurant that serves Mexican burritos and tacos along a serving line, and it is dang good food. Â While the stores are "cookie cutter" in looking the same at almost all locations, this spot is a really fun place to visit. Â The service here is always fast and friendly. Â They also give out really nice portions as well, and you never leave feeling like you got ripped off. Â Its a very short walk from the Belmont Stop off the Brown/Red Line, and there are plenty of places to visit as well in the surrounding area before/after you visit Chipotle. Â I recommend this location for some great food if you happen to be in the area.
Review Source:Oh man, I gotta give this Chipotle an especially good rating because
1) The staff is incredible and friendly
2) They always give very generous amounts of whatever ingredient you want
3) You can choose between white or brown rice
#3 hooked me. The great thing about this place is that it is only one block away from the Belmont Red line station which is very convenient for me. So far this is probably my favorite Chipotle I've ever been to.
What can I say....it's Chipotle! Â If you love it, you'll love it. Â If you have nothing good to say, then you shouldn't post anything. Â The burrito is good for what it is, it's not "ethnic" Mexican food. Â But it dose get the job done and it fills you up for the buck. Â And I recently won a free meal for 11 for my work place so it was awesome picking up 11 bullion burritos. Â
I've eaten the bowl too and you can't go wrong with it. Â I've stayed away from their "tacos" because I think it's too small for the price. Â Other than that, it is a good branch to go to get your quasi-mexi cuisine craving.
So, I love Chipotle in general, and when I used to work downtown, I had a favored location there, too.
But since I started working near this Belmont location, I've found that I stop in 3-5 times a week. They really get it right. Everyone's promt and courteous, and I've never had an issue with food quality.
Since I don't eat animals, it's nice to have a reliable take-out place with healthy, filling options for me. And I respect that they're conscientious about the meats they do serve.
Is it authentic Mexican food? Â No. Â But it's tasty. Â And most of all, when I am coming home from work in a bad mood, the ladies who make the burritos give me a boost. Â They are so incredibly nice and smiley it definitely makes it worth stopping in. Â The guacamole is pretty outstanding too.
Review Source:Had the best service ever at this location the other day. The two ladies working the front creating the best burrito bowls ever deserve a million high fives! Job well done ladies, I wish I knew your names!
Yummy food as always, excellent service.
ooooh and the outdoor seating was up and running. yeaaaah spring!
Well its a fast food chain, so if you go to here then you know what to expect. i love Chipotle, if i could have it everyday i would. the ppl who work at this place are all extremely nice. Most of the time they will be like "so how are you to day" or other small talk which is normally annoying. but with these guys it doesnt bother me and i like the short chit-chat. never had any issues with messed up orders.
Review Source:It seems as though I'm on a fast food kick...alas, I have to give thanks to Chipotle for a multitude of reasons:
1) Thank you for feeding us naturally-grown beef, pork, and chicken--this means no antibiotics, EVER.
2) Thank you for extending this idea to the rest of your offerings--beans, dairy, etc. via your Food With Integrity mission.
3) Thank you for giving me options when I don't want that carb-heavy tortilla--I LOVE your Burrito Bol.
4) Thank you for your lime-flavored chips and your ever-fresh guacamole.
5) Thank you for being the ONLY Mexican restaurant in Chicago that doesn't induce vomiting or the other unmentionable act...
Seriously though, I LOVE Mexican food and I can't eat the stuff. Well, no more. Chipotle, I love you. You nearly complete me.
(Why not five stars, you ask? This particular location wasn't as smooth as others in service delivery. No biggie, you're still solid in my book).
This Chipotle is a little slice of heaven. It is on my way home from work and close to the train. The people here are really nice too and able to follow my crazy "only a little this" and "extra that" instructions. I tried the online ordering today and works like a charm. I ordered for a bunch of people and everyone's ingredients and bill shows up separated by name and you can pay the total or each one separate when you arrive or the whole bill online. This is way better than the fax order forms they had before! It was ready at the exact time I requested and already bagged at the register and every single person's order was perfectly as requested. And we order out a lot of lunch and I can say for sure that never ever happens, even with places you order from all the time. For me, this location is a Lake View treasure!
Review Source:Awite.
Your standard Chipotle. Â They execute the corporate recipes as instructed. Which shouldn't be too hard, but I have been to some locations where you would think the recipes have been withheld from the employees and they just randomly grabbed ingredients and threw them together.
But DEFINITELY confirmed on the  talking about you in Spanish right in front of you.
They did seem nice, though...
.
"You complete me".
There, I said it. God I hope a friend doesn't find this post. A trip to mexico with him would only enlarge the blunt instrument to which he would knock me senseless with.
But hell, Chipotle. I can't complain. Not one bit. Customer service is never bad from my experience here, nor anywhere else I've been to. The servings are always fantastic, and they cater to your every wishes. No black beans goddamn it! ... erm, please?
Service is always fast, the preparers in line are always willing to strike up a light friendly conversation with you, and the bloke at the cash register always makes sure you have everything you want or need without trying to sell you something. That's right bud. We know what we want. So zip it.
My only wish, as I'm sure this has crossed many minds as well, is that they had later hours. Could you imagine a 24 hour chipotle? My pants would explode... Try to incorporate the scene in Amelie in which she looks across the city and wonders how many people are making love, with the screams of ecstasy to follow. Now multiply that number by every sucker including myself who can't live without Chipotle, discovering they now serve late nights.
Bush, we found your WMD right here.
Chi-pote-leh. That's how I pronounce it. You heard me.
Now, I'm a big chipotle fan. But this location irritated me. Sure, they gave me what I wanted, but the guac was too cold, the rice was al dente, as were the beans. If you ever watch Top Chef, you know Tom Colicchio's opinion of al dente beans. Well, I'm inclined to agree. On the upside, there are a couple dozen other locations in the city...
Review Source:I feel like this review is more than a little pointless (are people really interested in opinions about the Chipotle on Broadway?) but I also think that Chipotle itself is pointless...so...double jeopardy. Or something.
I don't get it. Its not Mexican food, its not fancy food, its just...just...I don't get it. It never tastes as good as I want it to, and it bothers me that everyone else seems to like it except for me. Why? What do I not understand? The chips are too salty and the guac is too oniony. The only thing I like is their black beans, and I can make black beans. One extra point for having Barq's root beer in their fountain thingy.
Chipotle is good for what it is. It's not a greasy taqueria dripping with ambience, nor is it a sit-down restaurant where you'll find chef specialties. It's a highly sanitized chain with efficient but friendly counter service and options that can please carnivores, vegans, those with a taste for spice and those without.  It's  a great option when you're solo and want a quick bite at a reasonable price. Unlike other fast food chains you can also get a beer which is nice touch.  If you can forgo meat, the vegetarian bowl is a great deal since it includes the yummy (and otherwise pricey) guacamole.
Review Source:Sorry hipsters: just because a place is a chain restaurant doesn't automatically make it suck (just like a band doesn't automatically suck just because they are on a major label). Â Chipotle kicks ass and there is nothing you can do about it other than tousle your hasn't-been washed-in-a-couple-of-days shaggy hair, push up your horn-rimmed glasses, adjust your vintage, one-size-too-small t-shirt, pick your skin tight jeans out of your ass, tie up your well-worn Chuck Taylor's, and get yourself a mighty fine burrito. Â
If the yuppie patrons try to disrupt your eating pleasure, simply turn up the latest offering from Tapes n' Tapes on your iPod, bury your nose in the latest issue of Magnet Magazine and focus on the task at hand: concocting the perfect burrito.
My equation includes rice, black beans, chicken, pico, roja, cheese and lettuce.
Once you follow my directions, you should still be able to maintain your hipster indie-cred status while enjoying a nice meal. Â Bon Appetit!
This Chipotle used to have THE crankiest guy working the register. He would not even look at you when you paid or asked for chips or anything. Well, he must be toast because last time I was there the place was awesome!
This one dude was shaking the rugs outside, refilling everything, chatting with customers, you name it- he did it. I always ask for extra rice in my bol because they can be a little skimpy.
Oh, I love me a good vegetarian burrito. Â And since there are far more Chipotle locations in the city than Qdoba restaurants (I like Qdoba a tad more), I often find myself heading to this burrito destination when I need a fix.
What I love about Chipotle is that they're very vegetarian/vegan friendly (they even warn us about the bacon in the pinto beans!) and provide a hefty veg burrito piled full of rice, beans, stir-fried veggies, and optional toppings. Â The food seems very fresh too and doesn't make me feel disgusting for having eaten it.
I've been to this location several times and have been pleased with the fast service. Â I suppose the burritos can be a bit slim at times, but I take that as a positive. Â I try not to venture here too often as I'm watching the waistline and simply can't resist a vegan burrito in all its high-calorie glory (even vegan, that tortilla bread, the rice, and the delicious guacamole bring on the fat and calories). Â They do have "healthier" options (such as a burrito sans tortilla) but if I'm going to go, I'm going to do it up right.
Check out the fun Chipotle website when you get a chance.
i love chipotle, they always customize the burritos for you. A few people complained that the portions are too small and this specific location. Well, be a good yelper and try asking for more. I always ask for extra rice and well as other amounts of things and they always do it with a smile. They advertize that their food comes from good sources, and i like the extra effort there. This location is two blocks from where i live, so i can always get my fix.
Review Source:Chipotle is what it is. This place is just as good as any other location. Although I'm not sure they clean out their garbages as often. And there's entirely too many things made of steel in this place.
The folks behind the counter are very friendly though. I've never been disappointed. Although I'm going tonight. Maybe I'll jinx myself and have the worst experience ever. I'll keep you posted.
I usually LOVE Chipotle & often go for lunch when I am at work. Â However, I am NOT a fan of this location. Â The service is always poor and the portions are considerably less than what you usually expect from Chipotle.
I usually would recommend their Burrito Bowls, but I would not recommend going to this location.
I'm not so crazy about this place.  It was originally a  McDonald's enterprise. It's still not very good...I don't know if it should be considered Tex Mex or a bastardized American version of Mexican food.  I don't know how to describe it other than it's not authentic, and it's not a good try at being authentic either.  The portions are huge, you get to choose from a variety of meats, salsas, etc..but about 80% of it is rice and tortilla.  Just because you get a lot, doesn't make it good.  The lines are always way too long too.
Review Source:This particular Chipotle location made me decide to boycott the entire chain last week, which will suck given that it's one of the better Ameri-Mexican chains as far as taste goes.
I ordered soft tacos. Â What I got was three cold tortillas with a bunch of toppings throw on top of the the shells. Â Half of the fillings didn't even make it into the shells. Â When I asked them to redo my order, the manager literally yelled at me for holding up the line. Â I argued for about a minute, but realised my points weren't being received at all. Â Oh well, I guess I'll just have to take my business to one of the other thousands of restaurants in Chicago. Â
If there was an option to give zero stars, I would. Â Not for the food, but for the incredibly rude people that I encountered there.
Hey old friend,
Sorry that I moved to Lincoln Square. Â I never realized how much I took you for granted until I left. Â You were always open when I worked late or quick when I was starving. Â Better yet, when I ordered a burrito and chips and guacamole, you never snickered. Â
I am lucky enough to visit your downtown locations once in a while but I truly miss my fabulous veggie burrito bowl with rice, black beans, tomato salsa, corn salsa, spicy salsa, cheese, lettuce and guacamole. Â
You are fantastic and missed,
Me.
We walked in at about 5 minutes to 10 on a Saturday night, and didn't realize until after we had our food that the place closed at 10. (Call it a brain cramp, call us nonobservant, we just plain missed it.) When I realized they were closed, I apologized and asked the guy that rang us up for a bag so we could take our food with us. He told us not to worry about it and to take our time. That was really cool and unexpected. When I worked at a restaurant in college, I hated people who did what I had done, and yet they were really cool about it. The food was fine, all the ingredients seemed as fresh and tasty as they usually are at all the other Chipotles I've been to. The friendliness of the staff, especially considering they were ready to close, earns the place an extra point.
