We only had mint juleps here on a hot Saturday afternoon, but they were damn fine juleps. The atmosphere is gorgeous, and the staff seemed a little slow, but it ended up being a good thing as we sat and enjoyed the bar. I'd like to come back and try the food, as the croque madame a waitress was scarfing down looked delicious, but that will have to wait for another time.
Review Source:A few years ago I visited Clover Club for a private party held in the back room and loved it, but I figured it was a bad idea to review a place on a specialty event held outside of the main establishment. I was well aware of their prowess as cocktail masters, but this weekend while searching for a place to have brunch I stumbled into Clover Club and was absolutely floored by not only the fact they had brunch but how amazingly delicious it was. Â
Everything from the coffee and tea, served in glassware, to the bacon tasting and especially the entree items were absolutely amazing. I had the Englander (a take on Eggs Benedict with hanger steak), and a potato cake that were both seasoned to perfection. I could not recommend this place more highly.
My husband and I attended a private birthday party at Clover Club and it was obvious within about a minute we'd be back. Â The "bartender" Travis, is not only obviously excellent at what he does - and really he's an artist. Â I'm not one of these over-the-top cocktail snobs but damn, his drinks were creative and delicious and interesting, and he was patient in taking into account what each patron liked and didn't like. Â YUM. Â I had, among other tasty drinks, The Clover Club signature cocktail (gin, dry vermouth, lemon, raspberry syrup and egg white) and a Marquis Especial (pisco, lemon juice, strawberry, champagne). Â The passed hors d' oeuvres were also fantastic! Â My husband loved the lobster roll (I don't eat seafood). Â We both basically attacked the servers for as many chicken skewers and "steak over toast" (tender herb-marinated hanger steak, sliced and served over toasted baguette with a spicy horseradish cream sauce). Â Descriptions are from the website! Â The private party was in a back room and we had 30ish people comfortably mingling, sitting on barstools, and in various chairs and couches. Â Really just a lovely evening (celebrating my awesome friend's 30th!) and we can't wait to return!
