I've only been here for a Wednesday night run with the Safety Harbor Athletic Club and FL Race Place Team. This groups meets each Wed night at 6pm to do a group run around Safety Harbor and the meets back at Copperhead's for Beer and Snacks. This establishment has welcomed a bunch of sweaty runners, so its gets an extra star from me. The beer selection is vast, but they are missing some popular wheat beers which I was surprised. I'm pretty particular in having a good wheat beer, so maybe its just me. I haven't tried the food. They have 2 bartenders on site so it was difficult for them to get the all the runners who rushed in at one time, but that's more on us, then them.

My brother and I are both fans of Bell's Brewery so, when the bartender told us that Thursday April 18 would be Bell's night with a brewery rep on hand from seven to nine providing special prices, we cofirmed the promotion on Copperheads web page and arrived promptly at seven. No specials, no brewery rep.  The bartender told us the rep was a bit late checking into her hotel.  We stayed for an hour drinking a couple Bell's Porters and a Hopslam at $6.50 each. Worth it but certainly not a special price.  At 8PM, still no rep or specials so we left.

The next day, I sent a note to Copperheads through the "contact us" feature on the web page to find out what happened.  It's been 12 days and no response.

Both times we have been there, the service was excellent and the beer selection pretty good.  That doesn't make up for the false advertising and unresponsive management.

Walking up to this place, I kept thinking I wanted to turn right around.  Next to a foodmart and just not very hip looking.  But what lured me in was a band who sounded amazing.  We walked in and were instantly dancing.  Great music, great crowd an outstanding beer menu.

I ordered a few beers for my friends and a wine for myself.  First wine was perfect.  Second I ordered, the bartender came over and noticed there was still lipstick on the glass.  I have been to bars where they pour the drink into a new glass.  Instead, he grabbed a new glass, made sure it was spotless and poured me a new large glass of wine. So even tho it's a small bar, I thought that was the right thing to do without me asking.  You would think this is common sense but in a lot of places, it's not.

It's not the closest place to me but when I am back over in that area, I would absolutely return.

Great place.  Stephanie our bartender has a great knowledge of beer.  Pretty much as good as it gets in a super non pretentious place.  30 taps, free pool.

Here from out of town and was looking for a place with a decent beer list. Copperhead's delivered with an impressive selection. Both bartenders were not only knowledgeable about beer, but very friendly and personable.  If I were a local, I would no doubt be a regular at this bar.

You won't find a friendlier staff anywhere in Pinellas County! The prices are good, customers interesting, bathrooms immaculate, and free pool! They now have 4 large screen TVs so sports can be viewed from anywhere within the bar. While they do not serve food, they certainly accommodate its acquisition from local restaurants--just ask! Life is good at Copperhead's!

I came with friends Saturday night and was rewarded with an awesome evening. We had park down the street near the hotel and Starbucks because we were picking up a box of pizza because a friend hadn't had dinner yet. Apparently Copperhead did not have a food on their menu but however you could bring food there to eat.  We had decided to walk from there to Copperhead since it was a nice night, which was about less than 1/4 mile (less than 10 mins).  On the way we passed by several other bar places, however all their music (including live music) were only so-so, and did not have many people..  I had wondered if it was always pretty dead in Safety Harbor, but then I realized that everyone was at Copperhead instead! This place had a much better live band playing too. That night The New Rulers were there playing traditional ska rocksteady music, which was quite awesome!

They have a selection about 30 beers on tap, clearly displayed on a large TV screen at the bar.  There were several other TV with sports on and one had SNL on.  There was a pool table and darts in the back.  There's also a outside patio in the front for smokers I gather.  Staffers and customers there were all very friendly.  Everyone seems to be having a great time whether drinking or even just enjoying the music!

PS it's located in the same lot as the convenience store.

Copperhead's Taphouse is a cute little place, tucked away in the heart of Safety Harbor.

It's a great place to watch sports...IF you are not hungry.

It is a fully stocked bar.  Any drink you want, you get it and delivered with a smile.  Never any shortage of sports fans in here.  The bar is a bit on the "dive" side, but not in a dirty way.  It's just a little hole in the wall with a set of loyal "regulars" who go there for the drinks, the camaraderie and to share in some rowdiness.

As far as food goes though?  None, save for some packaged snacks like chips or popcorn.  There are some beer nuts and peanuts on the bar if you are not the germaphobe I am, for you to partake in.  I have this thing with people sticking their hands into a bowl of food that I am about to put in my mouth.  If I didn't physically see you sanitize your hands before digging in, rest assured, that bowl is all yours.  I won't be enjoying it with you.

They do, however, have a large array of food menus of places in the area that deliver food and you are welcome to order whatever you want and have it delivered to you in the bar.  Me, personally?  I'd rather have my food there and be able to either make choices from the place where I am sitting or have the ability to eat more if I want without having to order again.  That's just kind of silly.

But, if you are just looking for a place to watch the game, or a local watering hole for the sole intent of having some drinks, Copperhead's fits the bill.

I am giving it three stars for the lack of food and because they only have a couple of television sets.  For me to appreciate a bar as a sports bar...you need to have at least four or five tv's at various spots all around the bar.  The two they have are located DIRECTLY over the bar area and cannot be viewed from everywhere in the place. You have to congregate around the bar in order to watch.  Not bad if that's what you're into...but as I am not a drinker, it's just not my thing.  From what I gathered, they do have an extraordinary array of beers, both domestic and international, that rival the likes of the Ale Houses and the World of Beer type places that litter the area.

There is a large pool table as well, if you are into shooting a game with friends.  There is a small patio area out front with seating in nice weather, but not much of a view other than the main street or the laundromat and convenience store it is seated alongside.  The inside is deceivingly large though.  I believe they have music, dancing, a DJ and live music on Friday and Saturday nights from what I gathered from all the posters slapped all over the walls and front door.  Not much in the way of decor, save for a wall of dollar bills with funny sayings written on them from the regular customers from when they first opened.

They are a relatively new place though, only open since July (I think) and of course, there is always room for growth.

Another new bar in Safety Harbor! Yay! If you blink, you might miss Copperhead's Taphouse, tucked in next to a laundromat and a convenience store. Inside, it's surprisingly large. The interior is industrial, but with lots of attention to the details. Comfortable seating awaits at the bar or at the tables. There's a pool table for the gamers and a large tv screen that scrolls through all the beers on tap. Most beers appeared to be American craft beers. I wasn't familiar with most of them, so the bartender offered a sample based on my beer preferences. I saw him helping several other people make selections, too. Copperhead's also features a small outdoor patio for smokers. All in all, a great addition to the area!
