I have been to many Cup o' Joe restaurants though it has been years since I've stopped by a MoJoe Lounge. Â I met a friend over a coffee (well, a hot cocoa) and didn't expect to be greeted by a waiter and walked over to a table and then provided waiter service. Â It was a pleasant surprise and in a professional area (being downtown), this Cup O' Joe and MoJoe Lounge location would be ideal not only for coffee dates with friends but also for meetings with professional colleagues. Â
While my friend and I only ordered hot cocoas, our waiter stopped by probably three or four times over the hour we were there to check on us. Â He pointed out the full breakfast menu which included hot items and a great start to any day. Â Now, if only I hadn't eaten breakfast first...
One of my new favorites downtown for lunch!
Walked by many times but finally stopped in for lunch and am so glad I did.
Earlier in the week I had the grilled cheese lunch special for $5. What a deal! Texas toast, three gooey cheeses, and an added tomato slice for an additional $1 which I thought was a little high for tomato but the sandwich was a great value at just $6.
I subbed fries for the chips - great fries! Skin on and appropriately salted.
Decor was modern and comfortable, service was great. I was impressed that two waitresses serviced the entire floor. They have it down - providing a chilled bottle of still water for the table saves them time with refills.
Later in the week I returned (twice in a week? a good sign...) and had the croque madam. Ham, swiss on thick sour dough topped with a fried egg and mornay sauce. What a sandwich! I probably won't get it again as it was a bit heavy for lunch - it was very much like a breakfast sandwich - think a more lunch version eggs Benedict. Mornay was delicious.
Pretty sure this is my new go-to lunch spot downtown. They also have a nicely equipped bar - I look forward to trying this place for Happy hour :)
I'm the current Duchess of Cup O Joe/MoJoe? Shut up!
I guess when you offer delicious coffee, a convenient location, free wifi, cozy interior, a decent menu and a nice view ... people want to come back!
In the last two weeks I probably stopped in here at least four times whether for a meeting, a happy hour meetup or just to sit and get some work done for a few.
Not always have the hours been consistent, or the menu for that matter, but these things happen when you open a new space. They've been open for quite a few months now but I still consider them fairly new.
Having been to many of the other Columbus COJ locations, this one is very similar, just a lot "newer" of course. A bit more modern & clean... and still working out some of the logistical kinks and menu offerings.
I recently tried the goat cheese-stuffed empanadas (at least I think that's what they were) and also their newest menu addition (to the Cup O' Joe side anyway) the quiche. Both were pretty tasty and hit the spot for a quick breakfast and lunch snack.
You'll always see a mix of loyal patrons in and out of here too. Everyone from the local cyclist making a pit stop, to the lawyer, to me - the no-office nomad.
A great downtown destination for local java!
