    Brunch is pretty good.

THE AIOLI. It is worth a visit just for the aioli that comes with the burger. I will never order anything else there, and if they sold it in jars, I would buy it.

Prices are quite reasonable, and the atmosphere is nice. I like sitting outside when the weather is nice, and I love that it's all Irish girls who work there! It's a unique little spot on the UES.

A welcomed addition to the UES. It's a glorified bar with average pub food, but the ambiance and decor are definitely step ups from the Brother Jimmy's of the city. A nice, convenient date spot, but a little on the pricey side for what it is compared to other 4-5 star restaurants.

I have been wanting to try The District for months, ever since I moved to the Upper East Side and walk by it on my way home every day.  So my girlfriend and I finally went in and I honestly don't have anything bad to say.

I noticed that many people on Yelp were complaining about the service, but I just think that people are too hard on this place.  It seems as if they are understaffed but thats about it.  Our waitress was friendly and attentive.  The prices were alittle expensive.  We started with the hummus and pita bread, which was a good start to the dinner.  The burger wasnt bad and my girlfriend had the penne with cream sauce and shrimp, which she loved.

All in all, there is nothing overly great about this place but I think if you go at the right time, its really nice for a date spot or just to hang out.  There are TVs all around and the location is awesome.  It's definitely not as bad as Yelp says it is.  I would definitely go back.

We went for brunch and ordered from the brunch menu. We got there early so it was not very crowded. My husband ordered eggs Benedict and he liked it. I ordered a burger, which was not bad, but the fries tasted like they were retried..

The place has good energy and is usually very busy. I like the ambiance as well but the food is just ordinary. Next time will just go for drinks perhaps.

This place has horrible customer service, non responsive manager with voiced frustrations. This was my 2nd time coming to this restaurant. A week ago I ordered drinks and the burger the fries came out cold so I asked for fresher ones they were much better but then they threw away the other half of my burger in the process??!! The bartender at the time apologised and gave us an extra drink which was fine.

Today, I walk in from yoga class wanting brunch and a mimosa I was by myself and wanted to sit at the bar. There were three people sitting down and everyone else was at tables. The bartender did not come over for at least 5-10 mins. Once she came over she just said, "what do you need." Very rude!! I was like can I eat at the bar? I would like a drink and food. She was like, that's why I gave you the menu. And I was like but I have been sitting here a while. She walks over to the middle of the bar and gives me a dirty look and continues to cut up lemon!
At this point I was not going to stay based on her rude welcoming. She started taking my order and once finished asked me for a credit card to start a tab. I asked her why? At dinner I was not asked for a credit card a week ago! She then says its my bar and my rule. I asked her what her attitude was for and she was like I do not have one and begins To go back and forth with me. I told her never mind and I would like to speak to her manager and she says, please do!!!' I spoke to the manager and she was of no help, blew me off and said sorry you feel that way!! Never tried to to rectify the situation!! Horrible place don't waste your time or money!!

Good local spot - I've only had dinner there once to be fair (and I ate at the bar) but the food was tasty (delicious chicken dish with tomatoes and mozzarella) and the service was really nice.  Not a spot I'd pick for a romantic or special night out but if looking for a relaxed place to grab a bite with a friend, a good go to.

Actually has a pulse which is amazing for this area.  Great bloody marys, cool bartenders, great ambience.

Good variety of foods for brunch. Free bloody mary or mimosa with brunch. My friend got the smoked salmon eggs Benedict and I got the french toast with drunken berry syrup. Very delicious. Will come back again. Not too busy,

    The worst experience ever!!!!!!!
Cheapest diner somewhere in NJ can be better than this place with wrong attitude.
My fiancé and I are locals in the neighborhood, so yesterday we went out for couple drinks and decided to check this place out.
I am 25, but look much younger and obviously have to be asked for ID before to get my drink.
This tall 100lb red headed,so called bartender, with an attitude of Mike Tyson served us with drinks and disappeared.
After waiting forever, he finally remembered we asked for the menu to order appetizers (I guess for a such "pro" bartender 5-7 people in the whole bar is kind of busy). He came to us and asked what we wanted to order.
In the middle of ordering, he started talking to his co-worker absolutely ignoring  us.
    We said "Burger, medium rare".
He repeated "Mmmm...ohh. Did you say well done?...".
C'mon son. We said "Medium rare" and repeated it twice while your dumb head was talking back to your friend.
We got annoyed, but since every restaurant has a "black ship", decided to stay and see how good is the kitchen.
I literally finished my drink, when this Puss in Boots jumped into our conversation and raising his tone said "Where is you ID?!". This question seemed to be funny and I commented "Well, I am kind of done with this drink" and started looking for an ID in my purse ("Wake up man!! Where have you been with this question when I just placed my order!?").
"I still can take this drink away, even if you drunk it half" he added with a huge effort of trying to make this statement to sound serious. I started laughing and gave him my ID.
Well, obviously 1988 it's for sure over 21 even if you sucked at math when you were in 3rd grade..... But not for this Sponge Bob, who spent whole 3 minutes calculating on his fingers I was over 21.
It got really on my nerves and I said
" Come on, you already served me with a drink without checking my ID braking the law".
"Well, I forgot and so what?!" he almost yelled at us.
My fiancé was about to give him a time out since this poor child crossed all the lines, but we both agreed to cancel the food and leave.
In addition he said "To cancel the food?? Fine!! Cancel your food!!!" and literally threw the bill in our faces.
I was like "Kid, what do you smoke?....".
He was extremely rude to us when we paid the drinks and asked his name, so we can complain to the owner.
He said his name was John (yeah, right!) and he owned the place. At this point I was confused, if he owned the place or the trash can next to him.
I am still in a total shock what's up with this hater.
We tried to have a good time and were going to spend good money, but this so called bartender were so rude and unprofessional, and more over actually broke the law!!
So, Dear John, don't worry, the department of customers affairs will be happy to find out how cool you are and how easy you serve drinks without checking ID (I am sorry honey, that's what you wanted). Don't cry ;(

Sigh. How sad it is that a place as beautiful as the district could have service as awful as it does. I came for brunch on a Sunday and was really excited to try a new spot in the hood.

I waited 10 minutes and the waiter never came by, not even to offer a glass of water. I made eye contact with the server and he still did not come by. I should have left at this point. Instead I asked the hostess to get the waiter for us so we could order.

The hostess was super sweet it was her first day and she ended up taking our order. It's pretty sad a new hostess is serving us more than our waiter.

We get our food from the hostess (still no contact with the waiter) and my boyfriend was given the completely wrong dish...wamp wamp.

Finally as the waiter hands us out check (first contact for the entire time I was there) he apologizes for neglecting us.  at least he admitted he was terrible. But I was expecting to open our bill and see something comped, like the wrong dish. I was wrong and charged for everything including his awful service.

We were not the only table experiencing this fail. Every table had to get up to get his attention.

Besides from the awful service the drinks were pretty weak. The food was just meh. Nothing awful but nothing too exciting.

I won't be here again. This place has the look of cool, but the service is the opposite. I hope someone really steps up at this place to take charge to revamp the service and experience.

When you walk in, you are ready to brace for a pub food menu- rather the menu is like fine dining.....We have enjoyed both Sunday brunch and several dinners during our few week stay on the UES and we have been quite impressed.  For dinner, a few of our favorite dishes are the sea  scallops and brick chicken......they were both well prepared (sea scallops can be horrible if not cooked correctly)...both dishes had the right accompanying side dishes....very flavorful

The only negative is the noise level and closeness of the tables- it is extremely loud and tight- great for those looking to be in the scene, but if you are looking for a quiet relaxing dinner, I suggest going early in the evening or for brunch!

Hah. I second Aubrey S - meh. The District gets away with mediocrity b/c of its well-uptown east location. The only saving grace to this place was the bartender, who was friendly and great to us, but seemed like he wanted to be elsewhere. We moved to the bar from a table, since the kitchen closed. Maybe because it was late, but our server for the table was -not- great to us, and for sure wanted to be elsewhere. The food suggested to us that we should have been elsewhere. Next time, we will be.

I wanted to love this place, because we don't get a whole lot of new places in the neighborhood, but it was just sooo meh.  Decor was nice, but then there was every sport imaginable on TV.  Upscale-ish menu, so I was a little confused.  Sports bar or restaurant?  We overheard people at the next table saying the same thing.

The service was slow and forgetful (we had to ask like three times for water) and the food was just okay.  I won't be in a huge hurry to come back here.

    Great brunch spot!

I stopped here yesterday with my girlfriends and had a lovely time! All the brunch items are $11-$14 an come with a mimosa or Bloody Mary, which was perfect on a day that I didn't want to drink my weight in booze. I loved my Asian pear salad--it was perfectly dressed. But I was jealous of my friend's smoked salmon soft pretzel sandwich.

I can't wait to return for the $9 signature cocktails!

My friend and I came here for happy hour. The lemon drops, for $5 were such a steal! I feel I have a pretty high tolerance, and these drinks were strong.

We also got the mussels, and although I was unsure about how I feel eating mussels in a bar, they were pretty decent. Not sure if they matched the drinks, but still good nonetheless.

    Will be back!

The district is a great spot! I know, I know... it's far up for those of you who are scared to come above 42nd street, but it's definitely worth the visit.

My bf lives in the 80s so we came to the district to watch the Bulls v. Nets game 7 (go Bulls!) This place could be best described as a classy sports bar. Dimly lit, romantic feel, but with great televisions in view from any seat to watch games. The food looked delicious and the drinks were classy and also very good. The best part, everything was pretty cheap. My fancy specialty cocktail was only $9.

You must try the Carmel apple. Holy deliciousness!

I am excited to have this new place as a go to in the UES.

Beautiful decor is pretty much all this place has going for it.  The beer selection is adequate, the menu is limited, the portions are small and I could probably cook better than their chef.  Our party of 4 arrived on a Tuesday night for drinks and light food, the place was a bit busy (about 3/4 full) but for some reason it took them awhile to seat us (or simply even notice us at the door).  They also didn't seem too happy about having us sit at a table if we weren't there for dinner, uhh aren't you a bar?!

We ordered the mac and cheese, which was a bit tasteless and watery.  Upon the waitress' inquiry, we did give our honest opinion of the dish, and they ended up taking it off our bill because we weren't completely satisfied.  We also ordered the brussel sprouts, which literally had to have been 1 brussel sprout cut into eighths.

The place does look great on the outside and inside.  Floor to ceiling windows that open the space up completely to the street, which creates good ambience for a warm night or afternoon brunch.  Also creates the illusion of a lot of space, since the bar in general is pretty small.

When it comes to the Upper East Side, especially above 82nd Street, I couldn't tell you much in terms of restaurants (south of Spanish Harlem, of course).  Or bars.  Or anything, for that matter...
Sure, my friend, Brette, and Cousin Larry live up there, but we typically meet downtown.  That was, until last Sunday, when Larry insisted upon brunch/lunch at his neighborhood's newest gastropub, The District, which hugs the corner of 94th Street/3rd Avenue.  Having met in front of the restaurant promptly at 11am, I was we were disappointed to learn that it didn't actually open until noon.  To kill time, we walked over to Asphalt Green so I that could check out the Olympic-sized indoor pool.

We arrived at The District just before noon and were seated immediately.  In terms of the aesthetic interior space, The District knocks it out of the park:  High, antique mirrored-ceilings, exposed brick walls, floor-to-ceiling paned windows, and gothic/cathedral-inspired decor.

*During brunch service, one Bloody Mary or Mimosa is included with your meal.*

Since Larry instead opted for Diet Coke, I downed both my and his Mimosas.  Coming in to the meal, there wasn't really a question as to what I would order.  Larry had preached and swore up and down that The District was home to the city's *best* burger.  And I wanted to see if he knew what he was talking about...

It's as sexy as a cheeseburger could look - or sound - on a plate:  Shredded romaine lettuce, a thick tomato slice, a ground brisket-patty encased in melted American cheese, caramelized onions, and a schmear of homemade garlic aioli were sandwiched between toasted brioche bun-halves.
For a moment, I hesitated after telling the waitress that I'd like my burger cooked "medium."  I just assumed that it would be served as I had requested.  Alas...my patty was well-done.  Sigh.
Larry was also surprised to see that his patty was not cooked "medium rare."  However, after one bite turned in to three, I decided that it would be too late to send my burger back to the kitchen.  Plus, I had already eaten about half of my serving of, quite possibly, the best French fries this side of Pommes Frites.  And the garlic aioli?  Dynamite.

While I was disappointed that both my and Larry's patties were cooked incorrectly, I would definitely return to The District to a) give the burger another chance (it has *major* potential if cooked properly), and b) to check out the after-work scene.  Apparently, it's the place to be uptown!  Even Urban Daddy says so!

I want to love this place. The decor is amazing. The concept is good. However, they've got to work out some kinks with the food and especially the service.

The waitresses seem to always have something better to do than bring your food/bill/glass of water. They'd rather be chatting, or rolling their eyes in a corner, or smoking. Definitely smoking. I have witnessed two waitresses on two separate occasions go out for a smoke, come back in and continue working without washing their hands. Sick.

The best thing I've eaten here is the burger. My fiance and I had brunch there also. He asked for his eggs well done and they came out so underdone that he couldn't take the texture and didn't eat them. The breakfast was very very lackluster.

They have an opportunity with this space, the design, and the location to do really well. I hope they get on the ball and fix the staff and give the food some more love.

I decided to check the new website for this place to see if they got any better with their beer selection.

    TWO THINGS:

    1) Even online they call the beer "Captain Lawrence." They can't even get it correct on their website! They still have NO IDEA what type of Captain Lawrence they serve. Unbelievable. They do the same with Single Cut  . . . what type?

    2) They spelled the name wrong of 1 of the 2-3 beers that's even remotely interesting. It's Gulden Draak, NOT Golden Draak. Again, shows what an amateur bar this is.

Don't claim to  be upscale, when you don't even know the products you're selling. LOL

I'm lowering my rating just because they don't give a crap enough to fix their problems.

I really want to love this place since it is so close to my apartment and as so many others have mentioned the space itself is gorgeous. However, I feel they are a little on the pricey side for both food and drinks and the place has more of an overcrowded loud restuarant feel and not so much of a bar feel if that makes any sense.

The bartenders were very busy so I can't really say if they were really nice or not. I did wait a while for drinks but I guess that is expected when they are so crowded.

I will probably be back due to the fact I can literally stumble out and I am home in about 3 minutes but I am not overwhelmed by this place which is somewhat of a disappointment.

I've had this one on the docket for some time now:

I live one block away and went last night, 04/03/2013, for my wifes birthday with a few of her work colleagues.  This was my 4th or 5th time visiting.

The guy bartender when you first walk is less than friendly but he managed to get the job done.  I did have to ask 3 times what the happy hour special was as he kept drifting off as I started to ask...

We ordered the shrimp tempura, batter was the consistency of a marshmellow/sponge.    I've had this dish before and it normally is actually tempura-like with panko.  Not this time.  A buddy had the fish & chips with the same poofy batter.  Fish and chips batter should also have a crunch to it when impacted with a fork.  Not a pfffff.  Overall though the quality of ingredients was good, so this was a preparation problem.

I had the burger, actually really good.  Cooked well, quality product, good bun, tasty fries.  A+.

    Other meals I've had here:
Tuna crapaccio was sketchy.  Lots of Sinew and weathered color.
Cheese plate is wayyyyy overpriced for such low quality and quantity cheeses.
Scallops, very very good.  Smallish dish size, but high quality.

The happy hour is sorta lame, but so is the beer 'selection' with nothing beyond the standard fare.  They give you a $1 off smithicks but put it in a smaller glass, which is total BS.  That's not happy hour, that's just charging less for a smaller beer.

Whoever said cheap drinks must be well-heeled because $6-7 beers is standard to high considering the beer's available and the locale.  Kinsale across the street has $3.50 yuenglings all day every day.  That's cheap.

I think if the bartender improves, beer selection increases, and the food gets more consistent then this could easily be a winner.  I debated back and forth between 2 and 3 stars.  The extra star goes to decor and hoping they stick around.  Competition is good.

    Weakest drinks around.

Just had dinner here.  I am a girl who gets a solid buzz from two glasses of wine.  I ordered a long island and 2 cocktails and i still feel very sober.  granted i was eating dinner, and the food was pretty good, but for the prices they can afford to actually put some liquor in their drinks.

otherwise the service was good, and the ambience was nice especially for yorkville, but i cant get over how much i paid for drinks that were so weak

This place is beautiful but is always extremely crowded and loud.  I really wanted this place to be good for dinner but it just fell flat.

The district wings were terrible. Absolutely no taste to them!!  French onion soup was deconstructed and just didn't hit the spot.

However, the scallops were terrific.  Perfectly cooked and seasoned.

Service was competent and very friendly!

Great 'upscale' bar/restaurant with good burgers - come here for a good (albeit cramped) time!

Came here for drinks/dinner about a month ago, and it was PACKED. It's winter so we waited inside, and the whole time we were there, there was a crowd of people at the bar. I imagine the people at the tables close to the bar felt really cramped.

Nevertheless, we managed to get a table, AND we were pleasantly surprised with the quality of their food. I ordered the risotto appetizer, and it was surprisingly good, coming from a bar/pub. We also shared the regular burger which was good. I normally am not a burger fan, but this was really pleasing to my belly!

Come here if you want a good time - but be prepared to wait!

Came here with a friend on a Tuesday night at 7pm.

    Pros:
7pm - plenty of space in the restaurant to sit, didn't have to wait at all
Happy hour runs until 8pm, with $5 house wine & mixed drinks (& beer probably?)
    Food portions are good
Ambiance is pretty awesome - no loud music, so you can have a real conversation, & really cool decor

    Cons:
I ordered a shrimp caesar salad...it was the fishiest caesar salad of my life.  There were whole anchovies thrown into the corners.  I wanted to gag the entire time I was eating it.
The waitress was super absent-minded.  I hope it was her first day on the job.  When we were ordering, I asked for a caesar salad with shrimp & she looked at me, wrote it down & then asked if I'd like shrimp or chicken with that.  When I asked for another glass of wine, she started to carry off my 1/3 full glass & I had to exclaim to her that I was not done with it yet!
We came in for a nice relaxed meal & drinks...by the time we were finishing up, it was around 8-8:30, the place was packed & the waitress was very clearly trying to turn the table over to accommodate new customers.  She kept coming by the table, walking away, coming by again...I was still finishing up my wine!  So rude!

The District was....fine. I would agree with many of the other reviewers that this place definitely still has its training wheels on. And it needs them.

I came here for a few drinks on a Thursday night. It was definitely hoppin', but had more of a restaurant/pub feel than the bar environment I was expecting. Limited seating at the bar. Again, to echo previous reviewers, the beer menu was nothing special. I think they had 8 beers on tap, but they included Bud and Blue Moon and the like. Well drinks weren't terribly priced-- I had Jameson on the rocks for $7 and a vodka soda for $6.

The bartender was an interesting fellow. I'm not sure if he was inexperienced, nervous or both, but he wasn't the most attentive of servers. Our first drinks came pretty quickly, but my second drink took a while to make and was then promptly dropped on the bar counter...by the bartender. Who was very embarrassed and cleaned it up but then forgot that the spilled drink was one that I had planned on actually drinking. So I had to remind him, 10 minutes later. To his credit, he comped it.

In all, I was not impressed. But its presence as a somewhat interesting offering in the barren nightlife wasteland known as the Upper East Side means I'm not above giving the District a second chance.

The stars mostly go to the decor... I can't really describe it as any particular style... its just cool inside... has a spacious feel but cozy at the same time.

They have some great beers on tap... particularly Ommegang Hennepin - amazing NY saison.

The happy hour specials were not so good... $5 martinis & $5 Sam Adams. It would have been nice to have some of the other beers for happy hour price.

The menu is small but extensive enough. The french onion soup was soooo disappointing. It seemed like sort of a deconstructed french onion soup... a big bowl of soup with a cheesy piece of soggy bread in the middle. My favorite part of the soup is the hot melted, bubbling cheese spilling over the sides of the bowl. This was definitely missing that.

Stopped by here Friday night with some friends.  We had one drink and left.  Couldn't agree with a previous poster more: THIS IS NOT A BEER BAR, just another UES spot masquerading as one.

    - No beer menu
    - They may have 20 beers, but all are mediocre ones you could find at most UES bars with "a few" craft brews
    - Beer knowledge of staff = non existent

For those who live in the area - this used to be an Indian resto.  While I like how the completely renovated the place (it looks beautiful), it's not as "sophisticated" or "downtown/village-esque" as it is putting on.  I had high hopes (hoping for something "revolutionary" like Penrose)

They need to reassess the music situation here.  With the mirrored ceilings, it got so loud we couldn't even hear each other, let alone the server.

If it helps, the bathrooms remind me of Spitzers...

Prices are very high for what it is.

Won't be back. I'd rather walk a few extra blocks to Penrose.

Barely sat down at the bar and the Irish bartender seemed agitated, muttering nonsense to himself, no hello. Finally get situated at the new "local" bar and he doesn't say hello just awkwardly stares at us like we were in a night club. We ask if they're still serving food and he seemed pisssed that we asked, doesn't even respond with a yes or no, just aggressively asks if were going to order a drink. Relax guy, ill let you know what I want when I'm ready! I barely got a look at what they even were serving. Awkward, rude...definitely won't be back and definitely will bash this place til they close.
The only time I can appreciate an angry Irishman is if I gave him a reason to be angry...

Really interesting new upscale bar in the UES, decor was a mix between sports bar and...classy Viking warriors?

Anyway, I want to come back to this place when they have their cocktail menu available. As of right now, I believe they are just doing simple well cocktails and beer. Good beer prices though, for the neighborhood.

And yes, BELIEVE THE HYPE ABOUT THE SCALLOPS. I very hesitantly ordered the scallop dish after reading good things about it in a few promotional articles. I am so glad I did. The scallops were perfectly cooked, not rubbery or gummy like I would expect from a bar. I also sampled some of my friends mussels, and they were also delicious.

Good to have some new things opening up, look forward to going back.

I came here to snatch drinks late during the week one time. No problem finding a couple seats, and with some to spare too!

It's a sorta roomy spot and the decor is rather interesting. I had a little bit of fun looking around and getting to know the place.

Right price for the drinks, service is good. I never tried the food so I have no opinion there.

First, I'm absolutely routing for this place, and the only reason I'm not giving it 5 stars is the food (OK, that, and someone made some very poor measurements so that it's hard to fit your legs under the tables if you sit against the banquets). It's a beautiful bar, the staff is lovely and the drinks are solid. Bar alone is 5 stars!

However, the food has a way to go (more like 2 stars). It's still in the soft opening stage so details are certainly being worked out, but if you're only serving a few items, they should be prepared well. The caesar salad came with grilled chicken, but that was a whole, dry, bare chicken breast with what seemed like zero seasoning of any kind just dumped onto the plate next to the greens. The side of fries we ordered appeared as if it was the last from some prior batch, maybe? Not one was longer than an inch (the fries at the table next to ours looked lovely) so we had to use forks to scoop them up and the advertised aioli was only a teaspoon's worth, and despite our requests for a bit more, none ever came. To be fair, our waitress was kind, but completely overwhelmed as it was busy. I've had much better luck just sitting at the bar on prior visits.

The French onion soup had a tasty enough broth but a pile of grease shimmering on top and only a small sprinkling of cheese.

If it's just for drinks, this is absolutely my new favorite neighborhood bar and I'll definitely be back again. The food is another matter though, and I'm really hoping that it improves!

This place is really cool... it fills a void on the UES as an upper-scale, English-pub feeling sports bar.... not too grungy and sporty and not too downtown (ala Penrose).  They are just in their soft open stage, so still working out the kinks but I loved the vibe!

The space is setup more as a restaurant than a bar as tables take up 80% of the floor space leaving very little room for bar standing.  They have a great fireplace (I wish they would put a couple of cozy couches around it!), exposed brick and wonderfully detailed bathrooms (yes, I'm a bathroom snob).

I didn't try any of the food (menu not up yet), but really looking forward to returning!

What a gorgeous space!  This flashy new bar caught my eye late last week, and it's only a block away from my apartment so I was super excited - we really don't have bars like this in the area.

It was busy, and they aren't serving a full menu yet, but the bartenders were super nice and the crowd was lively and fun.  I'm not sure how expensive the drinks are because I'm pretty sure we got a few for free (like I said, very nice bartenders!), but regardless I don't think it's as pricey as some of the wine bars down in the 70s on 2nd Ave.

Just please keep the UES bros away from this one...

I saw this shiny new bar on my way home one day and I hoped it was as good as it was aesthetically appealing, and it was!

I was just there tonight and I was so glad I want. It was busy when we walked in, and there were reservations at 7:30, but the hostess said if we ate in 45 minutes, we'd be welcome. I was happy that they made space for us when they didn't have to - especially since it is apparently still in the "soft opening" stage. There was a four-item menu (but a very complete bar), but what I ate was really good. I had an Irish cheddar and caramelized onion burger, and a Magners. I haven't had a burger like that in the UES in a really long time, there was a generous helping of the onions and cheese, and the burger was perfectly cooked. Also, the mountain range of fries that came with the burger was fresh and tasty. Both the drinks and the food came quickly, I was impressed!

The service was speedy, attentive and friendly. Our waitress, Niamh, was very informative about the opening and the schedule for the grand opening (two weeks-ish?). Even amid the very busy Friday evening rush, she checked on us and never kept our table waiting. It really changes the meal when you can count on good service, and we were very happy.

Besides the great food, and the refreshing drinks, the atmosphere is fabulous. I don't think it can be classified, but the pictures sort of reflect how great it was. The tiles under the bar, the antique mirrors on the ceiling, the high-backed red booth in the back, and the general dark wooden decor, with a dash of cathedral mirror and glass throughout was an epic upgrade.

    Can't wait to go back!
